After time and reflection I'm going to withdraw myself from the Nobles group. Those others with me in thread will have noticed that I haven't had my head in the right zone for some time now, and rather than prolong the lack of cognizant and impactful input from myself - I'm going to withdraw.

I give thanks to Tark, Pollux, Tal and Trevor (plus the fallen ones we lost along the way) for the journey over the last three years and three months - and no doubt our paths will cross elsewhere upon the boards.

Rat, probably

Aw Rats! Sorry to see you go Cal. You fought the good fight trying to bring sanity and diplomacy to the table.

I suppose it is apt that I am listening to Bessie Smith sing "Careless Love Blues" as I type this.

I will miss you, and I will keep an eye out for you in the future.

(as Pandora swings into Ella singing "Someone to watch over me". Real subtle Pandora)

Farewell.

Male Orc Expert 5

I am really really sorry to see cal go.

In any case I'll have to put out the word for a 4th since going down to 3 is not prefferrable as this particular book has some very punishing parts to it.

Most sad though is that I had stuff for Cal as I had stuff for everyone at appropriate times.

In any case if nobles will go ahead and get their funds and such allocated I'll put the word out.

Just killa bunch of the monsters so we can stroll in and fight the BBEG who happened to fall down the stairs and break both it's legs.

Male Orc Expert 5

Also I'm going to try and get the 7swordsman game moved a touch quicker. I want to try and get you into some honest to god adventuring type stuff by next week. I'm off thursday adn friday and I'll have my hands on ACG so will be reading through that among other things.

Male Orc Expert 5

That sounds exactly like soemthing I would not do.

Also New character concept for me

Pollux, finally getting back to you on your thought earlier about dividing the wealth....

Sounds lovely but I can't do it without taking a major alignment hit.

Unless you can explain why a CE nutball should take winnings earned by betting the nutball's coin and put it into a group pot.

I don't see a convincing explanation hence my earlier posts about intra-party wealth discrepancies.

TarkXT Or can we get an alignment dispensation to allow the monkey to take this group oriented action.

Mind you monkey really could care less about something ephemeral as coin but he has the money now .... Mind you 12k in coin weighs 250 pounds so monkey will not be carrying this. Well not carrying it and moving anyway. So if Tal arranges transport and just parcels out the tin as a fait accompli it will likely pass.

Gems are excellent for turning monies into easily portable items.

Perhaps create an establishment called The Westcrown Exchange that holds our cash and converts coinage.

Rat, probably

This is Westcrown, lives are cheap.
1. Hire porters to carry,
2. Hire guards to beat the porters.
3. Hire Hellknights to watch the guards
4. Pay the knights
5. Pay the rest a lump sum by throwing the money loose into the middle of a bear baiting ring.
6. Place bets with spectators as to how many will survive the shadowrunesque bloodbath.

'sides haulage is not the issue. Intra-party wealth imbalance in favor of a CE, who can't really take an alignment hit if Castor ever wants opposable thumbs, is.

So Tal and I spent our money too early. How about we toss some money at Castor so we don't go insane from figuring out new totals?

Rat, probably

The dearly departed get their hush money.
It is best to keep these kinds of relationships on an amicable cash basis.

To make things a bit simpler Pollux gets his winnings and that is that. Caldazar is leaving and we have not divided the loot up IC although Tal did make mention of what to buy with his winnings. Ten Tal and Trevor split his winnings and the loot between them. 13500 gives each 6750. Close enough for Tal that he skips his shirt and is still good.

Pollux then needs to purchase the wayfinder and other items that help the party but are solely his to explain away the selfish CE ex nobility talking rat owner's alignment. It isn't perfect but does move things along with only Tal's shirt being lost.

Btw Tal is ready to go whenever to find this wayfinder somehow. Hopefully is know local was enough.

@ the 7 swordsman, what was our plan again?
- arm the villagers with the weapons/armor I have with me on the cart.
- train them in the use of that equipment
- build up defenses (if possible)
- ...?

Male Human Zen Archer 2 / Battle Scout Skirmisher 2

that's probably about it.

If we've got supplies Liu can maybe craft some bows/arrows as well (so maybe another trip back to the village we started in?)

And since it looks like the 'building' of defenses is going to be tough with the tools/resources at hand we're going to have to be creative; a shallow moat that's hidden to trip horses vs truly keep people out, traps set at the most logical approach points, etc etc.

A stealth recon mission to the enemy camp might be in order also

Screw it. Noobody looses their shirt. Consider the 12k group funds. Pollux doesn't care enough about $$ to notice and Castor can deal.

Not worth worrying about.

So I guess we are just waiting to Hear if we split the winnings three ways excluding Caldazar or the original 4 ways.

Cal took his share I believe

Rat, probably

I vote 4. Cal was involved in earning the cash. I expect Cal's share will go to the new blood, but the fiction should be that Cal takes his share and new blood has their own cash augmented from elsewhere. Otherwise we will have a severe existing party vs new blood wealth issue.

Unless Tark says otherwise of course.

Male Orc Expert 5

And there went Tirion. :(

I'll adjust the recruitment thread to include rebels.

Also please stop by the recruitment thread to toss in your input.

If things get too bad it might just be better to merge the groups. Plus since we have a dungeon crawl coming up,(Delvehaven) it will probably be a good idea to review it and see what is needed for a good experience and what can be trimmed(So we don't end up spending time searching the bathrooms and broomclosets)

Rat, probably

But you find the best goodies in bathrooms.

Sheryl:I can't believe I'm expected to put my hand in that!

Male Orc Expert 5

I always f%+!ing DREAD going into bathrooms in horror games. The developers love to f%+* with you in the worst possible ways in bathrooms.

Rat, probably

From a first look at the applicants it appears the alignment pool is getting shallow again.

Sigh.

Assuming we are on hold till the replacement is found. Good by me just curious. Any favorites thus far?

Harold Wainright fits the bill for me. Bard has plenty of skills, is a face with a 3/4 bab progression and has tried submitting before. At sixth level if I do go urban trapmaster ranger then there would be 2 that could take care of magical traps.

Not Evil for Pollux sake but isn't good either. Tal keeps bouncing between neutral good and true neutral asI have a hard time allowing a truly evil act to take place as Lily would have his hide if she ever found out.

Wainright does look good

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

If Tark allows it he comes with a wayfinder so that is how we could find him initially. He is our contact and joins us instead of selling it to us.

Rat, probably

Wainright looks like a winner. Give it the one day warning and then close? Decision on Monday/Tuesday?

Sounds good to me

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Yep lets keep it moving.

VC - Sydney, Australia

merging up the groups certainly has merits.

It might even increase the forward momentum rather than splitting the GM between two sets of posting obligations... :)

Welcome aboard Harold although I don't know about this strange smell wafting from you. ;)

Male Orc Expert 5

Updates for everyone tonight. And will be fairly quicker the next three days since I'll be off work.

Male Orc Expert 5

OH! And the Rebels should look here and help decide Aerietha's replacement.

That is only if Castor gets to him the first night. Otherwise if Pollux gets to him first it could be worse.

Male Orc Expert 5

So tired, must type.

Better get some Red Bull for your deep crow wings.

Male Orc Expert 5

Behind every adventurer is an NPC diving for cover.

Rat, probably

Sorry, life. back now.

So does the 6375 include selling the whacking stick, the trophy, the pearl, and the amulet? I can't find the relevant post.

I do believe so. For the sake of sanity if nothing else

Thank the maker.

Buying
Plague Rat Belt 5200
Cloak of resistance 1 1k
Potion of water walking 750
Potion of water breathing 750

Cheese fund remaining: 1189g

Was really debating Pipes of the Sewers but Monkey can't make the DC 10 perform check. Which is a pity as 1d3 rat swarms can really liven up a school board meeting.

Male Orc Expert 5

So. I lost my temper. The result is a broken lcd screen on my laptop. Incidentally this is where a great deal of important things are held.

So now I have to scramble to get the money together to get a replacement screen. So, obviously things are going to slow down as the only way I can post is at the beneficence of my girlfriend.

Rat, probably

Aw crap, sorry to hear that boss.

And the hits keep on coming! Today I was terminated from my job. So, on top of a 700$ ticket I have to help my girlfriend with, a forced move by the leasing office who will not renew the lease, a broken computer, and the mother of my child breaking down under all the pressure I can add unemployment atop my mountain of woes. By this point if I find out the abcess in the back of my mouth is actually cancer I would not bother to be surprised as this entire year has decided to s$!@ on me.

Male Human Zen Archer 2 / Battle Scout Skirmisher 2

Yikes, dude, so sorry to hear! Sending you good vibes .....
