Nix, Hope your hospital stay went by fast. I dread the stays in hospitals.
Looks like Tark is alive. Part of the Feversea Swashbucklers crew went AWOL causing a rift in the space/time continuum and the alternate reality timelines combined. Lorn went fishing for a lost NPC to no avail and much fearless stupidity, instead the Harpies gained more PCs. She gonna be a little "off" after she awakens.

[standing up with a guilty sigh] Hallo. My name is Lorn. [pause for acknowledgement] I already play in two PBPs. I, uh... I submitted a PC for another. It was a WotW campaign. I couldn't resist. Fortunately, my character wasn't picked. She will languish only a little longer before providing fodder for the headman's axe as the others escape to wreak havoc on the countryside.
Is there a Piazo Support Group? PBP Anon?

Two PbPs as a player? - I DM seven and play in fifteen.... you ain't in the area where you need a support group just yet :P
Wow, that's a lot of games.
I'm hoping to run a PBP Castle Whiterock/Goodman Games old school DCC campaign one day soon myself. Mapping might take away my urge though. It's been awhile since I used maptools. The other thing is that I started a PF conversion way back but lost steam, so I may do this retro in 3.5 if I can locate my 3.5 cd with those PDF's. I sold my hardcopy WotC books awhile back.
I've been reading my old Goodman PDF's lately. Good stuff.

If the remaining swashbucklers can make a cursory post in the harpy's (ooc is fine) so I can see what's left I would appreciate it.
As I interpet it, you'll want to post a quick "Arrrgh" on the Harpies PBP. We just survived a storm, everyone is fatigued, the Captain is pissed and there is gonna be negative reinforcement at the main mast. Volunteers?
If you happen across a dead dire rat with a pink bow, please let Lorn know. TY.

Gah - there's a write up on Milani in the latest RoW AP... and one of the core tenets is:
Peace, Love, Health, and Life: Also known as the “Four Pillars,” these ideas are the core of defining humanity’s gifts. The cost of any action should be weighed against these ideas—promoting one at the cost of another may be worthwhile if the rewards outstrip the costs.
I guess that's why Caldazar is an Inquisitor...

So, was talking to my friend about the brutal whipping we all received and how I lucked out at 1hp from death. He then commented about how it was lucky I made my stabilization roll. This of course led to us looking to see if a stabilization roll was required, since it was non-lethal damage and all. Long story short, not sure.
So in the interest of fairness, I have to ask, do I need to make a stabilization roll? I mean, a dead sailor can't help so even if required I could still see them trying to keep me alive and all. But had to at least mention it.

Once you hit 0HP all further damage becomes 'lethal damage'.
Also 'Execute one, educate a thousand' :P
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/combat#TOC-Nonlethal-Damage
"If a creature's nonlethal damage is equal to his total maximum hit points (not his current hit points), all further nonlethal damage is treated as lethal damage."
Sylvestra Striana |
That's actually my arguement. Since the damage becomes lethal damage it should cause the person to have to stabilize. His argument is that it just becomes lethal damage for HP tracking purposes, but it's still non-lethal at that point. His actual suggestion was to just let it ride out and see what the GM would do, and if he didn't ask for it to not bother rolling. Which I just didn't like (the rules lawyer in me won't stand for it). So figured I'd at least ask.

FWIW - non-lethal damage doesn't actually come off hit points, it's just tracked separately.
Let's say you have 10 HP and get hit for 4 damage lashes.
First two are straight non-lethal and you have 10/10 HP, 8 non-lethal.
Third starts inflicting lethal, and you have 8/10 HP, 10 non-lethal.
Two more hits and you're disabled at 0/10 HP, 10 non-lethal.
The sixth hit is when you actually start dying, with -4/10 HP, 10 non-lethal.
So did you take enough lethal damage to bring down your actual HP within 1 point of death? - or were you adding lethal and non-lethal together?

I had a read of the incident in question, and on the 'battlefield' you would have certainly required a Stabilise check or you would have been likely carked it.
Lucklily you were simply getting a beating on board a fine and upstanding vessel where during/after your beating it was no hard task for a ships sawbones to keep you satbilised and alive with a pretty straightforward Heal check, or another to CLW you.
Lucky eh!?

Proceeds to administer head/desk beating.
Still takes me to -3....

Afternoon Guys,
Well I just got back from a deployment and I am exhausted. I won't be posting much for a day or two while I take the chance to spend some time with my wife. Expect a post in 48 hours or so.
