We have a certain image to maintain, you see. Small=MIGHTY!
I'm not so sure about that.

Heh. It's not the size of the blade, sir, it's how far you stick it in. And what foul things you rubbed it in before you stuck it in. And whether you twist it a couple times. And also whether you shoot the b@astard afterwards, just to make sure he's good and dead.
Remember kids: there's no kill like overkill!

So far the two games side by side remind me of This

Of course, it's only cannibalism if I eat another goblin. If I eat a human it's just expanding my culinary horizons.
Considering that they are pirates, they are probably really salty and will lead to high blood pressure as well.

Well marinated and seasoned though.
Hmmmmm.....I could play a DarkSunHalfling, then Mugwort and Lorn would get along fabulously or perhaps fight over the portions but the irony of a DarkSunHalfling pirate might be a wee much.

@Rorgrim and Group: Way to shut down the thugs! Oh and Tark, could I in the future Shirk a task in order to Aid another on their skill check? I am just thinking about when Lorn gets stuck in the bilges. I feel like Mumbata would want to help her out.

Hah! Gonna be hugging the mainmast despite my efforts, why be fatigued as well? I'll be shirking as soon as my hobbit feet are immersed in that sludge. Might as well explore the muck. Do I get issued hip waders? I could even bring up some mystery meat to the chef's apprentice for that evening's stew.

You mean the bit where you're an arcane caster, the bit where you are not dying of thirst, or the bit where a Thri-Kreen is not munching on your delicious plump mammal meats?

~~~Dark Sun Flashback~~~
Thri-Kreen chase scenes
Water and iron are the preferred coin
SorcerorKings hoard magic, rationing it to minions stricter than water and iron.
Aaaahh Dark Sun.
/flashback
Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. The ocean is just another desert!
Never got to experience Darksun, however I have plenty of good memories of Planescape. I think it would be interesting to check it out though. I hear Pionics were huge in Darksun. And Ya Tark, I feel you.
TarkXT, I agree with Castor the River rat. You are running four campaigns. I can wait for timeline progression, more opp for fleshing out character, the banter of the discussion thread. We all have to balance work/life/recreation, I'll not hold your pissant obligations IRL against you when these rudely shove aside my pursuit of escapism. I am sure Mr.Plugg and Scourge would react much the same to Lorn and her "LaisseFaire" moments.
Sunderstone |
I think Tark is running 4 and playing in more. I expected some slowdown on his side, I'm jealous he has the time to be in so many games. :)
No worries Tark, we lurve ya.
I'm loving the Nobles game most of all (Merax is rapidly becoming one of my favorite PCs of all time), and still trying to get a handle (personality-wise) on my Feversea Gnome-ette. :)
Edit***
Actually the entire Nobles group is becoming one of my favorite parties ever (and I mean since 1981 Moldvay basic). Just love the group dynamic to death.
I'm in 12 games right now and going to start my own, probably tonight. Golarianized/Pathfinderized Temple of Elemental Evil if anyone is interested. Will likely open up the recruitment thread today, possibly tomorrow.
OOOoooooo. Ponder... I'm in! Monkey is likely to die soon and I'll need a new meal ticket.
Due to the fact that I am in 12 campaigns (probably over 40 different people), I am just going to do a regular recruitment thread, but knowing how people post (or more importantly don't post) will likely have an effect on my decisions. I will post a like here, and in all my OOC threads when I start it.
I am trying to keep your polearm paladin alive, it is not easy you know and we have not even fought anything yet.
Oooooh, born and rasied on that! Will definitely submit a character - looks awesome!!
EDIT: Just noted my interest as Marchello Aria - thinking of an inquisitor, but would be a different build.
"Recruitment Timeline: Recruitment will be up for as long as it takes to get a decent list of applicants together, though at least through next Tuesday - July 24 at midnight Central US time.
I will be looking at a party of 5-6 for this PbP. However one spot is reserved – which leaves 4-5 spots available. I’m sure the player with the guaranteed spot will check in – and the player is planning on playing a rogue. I have no problem with more than one rogue/skill player, but just be aware that there is already a rogue in the party."
Lorn Butterrum |
Nah. I'll just review the recruiting. Never played any version of ToEE and I can wait a little longer. Never heard of the Foible/flaw rule before. And quite frankly, I think my two PBPs are quite enough. Although I will admit that I want to start a Kingmaker campaign at my FLGS (tomorrow is a game day) We will see if there is interest, might end up running a one-shot adventure to "screen" applicants. Seems to be a favorite no matter who is present.
Tirion Jörðhár |
Kingmaker is fun. I am in one (actually Tark is also in it). We are just getting into the actual Kingdom building part, but it looks very interesting. I have been playing around with a spreadsheet for it, but it is a long way from finished.
Another DM I applied to but did not get into used the Focus/Foible. It is actually like this:
One Stat 18
One Stat 8
4 stats are 1d10+7
I was considering using it, but I know how easy it is to manipulate the rolls if someone wants. I tried to see if I could use the PM to have people mail me rolls, but the [dice] does not work in PM. So, I decided to force players to bump at least one stat up to at least 17, drop one to 9, and do a 25 point buy. Really this means that players cannot do the boring 14/14/14/14/14/10 series. After all, you are adventurers, you are gifted and skilled - being top dog at something should not be unexpected. Being just above average in everything - boring.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Was kind of going for a guy with some serious golarion nerd cred but who wasn't ever stuffed in a locker, with a little training and a feat or two hopefully he'll come into his own physically and deal some serious whoop ass.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Tark if Tal takes the accelerated climb penalty, would that give krona a chance to get out on the same round or not? If. It that is fine and I will just take 10 myself to get out. Just curious as even a -10 penalty would still let me get out taking 10.
