"OK, Ah should be ready for mah close-up, Mr. DeVille."
Also, this is my first time doing a sorceress (and first time doing any arcane caster since second edition D&D), so feel free to offer any feedback, my fellow players.
With her infernal heritage, I figure she'll be doing a combination of charming and summoning, mainly. (I may also eventually stick her in light armor and get those spell fail chance reduced, but we'll see where the character goes first; it's probably not an optimal use of feats, but I could see Calla rocking some armor.)

Hate to say this but Castor cannot talk to me until I am fifth level. Witches use the same table as Wizards. Pity.
Mind you, your game your rules, but it is a power bump for familiars. Not that I mind in the least mark you.

You could jsut call it the crazy talking. Or funky empathy nonsense. Either way its more interesting than "look at this rat he teaches me spells and gives me advice with his timid little whiskers and funny smells."
In other words he's not having conversations with other characters or even out loud where they can hear but its far from game breaking to have him interact with you.

my first pbp and my first die roll comes up a natural 20 :) woohoo™
Sorry, couldnt contain it. :)
late edit (after the high)*** I do realize this will likely mean I will fail on a much needed saving throw soon. ;)
"Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad". With criticals!

And I just rolled a natural one. With two dice. Just to look around and survey a room. I suck at looking at things...
But you are an awesome sourse of free drinks!
Don't sweat it. The dice gods taketh away and the dice gods giveth.

I believe they were all waiting on me to spill more beans.
I've spilled something, and it contains some things kind of bean-shaped and bean-colored.
I just want to add that we've made a very good introduction. Shall we send this adventure off the rails, hmm?

OK, I'm confused. I've been looking for our thread and not seeing it. Am I completely missing it? I was trying to be patient, so I wouldn't be a noodge...
OK, I just found it now. Strange that I didn't see it before. Very, very sorry about that. Will catch up and update ASAP.

I think the thread ended up being rather hidden in Tark's formatting. I'll repost the link so the rogue, who should be here on Saturday according to his post won't miss it.

Rebels: This is something of the groups meet and greet before you get in the deep cack. So take the time to get to know one another. Or don't. I find paranoia delicious.
Nobles: Unless you guys want to interact with each other some more I can fast forward things a bit. Janiven is no longer feeling talkative.
Caldazar |
@TarkXT - now that I have Ultimate Magic in my grubby little hands, I've been looking over contents and wanted to clear something past you.
Are you open to Caldazar adopting the 'Preacher' archetype? - it won't change the 1st level build a jot, as it only kicks in replacement abilities at 3rd level. Details in spoiler.

I'm also wanting to look through and may tweak if you're OK with that. I think the magus might be a little more fun for me to play than the sorceress, but I need to look a lot more closely at it. If not, I may at least tweak spells.
But I'm fine if you'd rather not have the change now that we've started.
Calumny "Calla" Tas'vere |
OK, Calla's also updated -- for the third time. Thanks; I like her lots more now. : )
(Because she'd already cast unseen servant, I went with her still having that memorized instead of something that probably would have been more helpful at the moment. Stupid book couldn't come out a few days earlier?)

I am really liking the group initiative thing.
I was reall iffy about it but it seems to work well for PbP.
Well the way I see it if the whole group rolled initiative and then posted that's like 6 more posts so itd be probably a whole day before you got to the first round of combat. At least this way you can get into it fast and with the loose initiative it makes things easier on slow posters and tactically interesting since its easy to hold off a post to let someone take an action or for low inititive guys to get there buffs out to the other guys before they take their actions ensuring the buffs get their mileage.
Anyway, I'm finding the differences between the groups rather striking. I'm genuinely surprised that the mostly good aligned group has very little trust in Janiven while the group with the slight evil bent has yet to even imply she's trying to kill them. :P

Just FYI, I may be a little spotty in posting Thursday-Sunday as I'll be out of town. However, my friends go to bed hours before I do, so I should still be able to get online at night (EST), but if everyone's waiting on me, feel free to just run me, Tark.

Implications lead to unfounded conclusions, and that would be bad for maintaining the ledgers, now, would it not?

Well you see we KNOW she's trying to kill us so we don't have to worry about it. Evil, it makes life simpler.
LeVash |
Hmm...not sure if LeVash is part of the good group or the evil group, but he trusts Janiven's intentions...just not her competence.
BTW, I decided that LeVash's Divine Focus is a Barroak diak sewn into his bandolier. A plant that is also a staple of Wiscrani trade seemed appropriate for an urban druid. If that is an issue, please let me know (Pavo will carry a carved wooden coin of the same material as his focus).
TarkXT |
@LeVash: Bothers me not sir.
So gonna take a quick player vote regarding passive perceptions and knowledge's. I understand that me rolling them makes thins go faster. However I understand player resentment when they don't get to roll these things themselves and things "just happen".
So, let me roll them some or all the time or not at all yea or nay?
Calumny "Calla" Tas'vere |
I'm definitely for you doing the passive checks; I think it moves things along more quickly so we're not waiting for all five of us to type in a simple dice command before you give us the info we can react to.
