So who's signed up for this

Tickets paid for and hotel booked.

I'll be playing 4 PFS sessions over the weekend which should take Andrina to 7th level.

Dave,Rob you have fair warning that you've got me at your tables again but Russ manages to escape me..

I should be around with the family. I will bring some 3D scenery and should GM two sessions. As I'm around with family I will unfortunately only have limited opportunity to game / game master.

I would love to play at least one game with Theodum - Wizard 6 / Pathfinder Chronicler 1

Thod

I'll look forwards to seeing you there Jens..and your good lady off course.I suspect we'll have a couple of things to discuss regarding PbP's as well.

Excellent. If you come along to PaizoCon UK I'll make sure you get into one of Russ' games ;)

Yep. Running 5+ PFS (GM John Kennet).

I note there are 33 PFS games currently on the UK Games Expo site. They are already 74% sold out (147 seats sold of 198 available).

Grand Lodge 5/5 ****

I did add my two slots to the GM spread-sheet. Have all the other GMs contacted the organiser or how did you get listed?

Hotel is booked. Tickets not yet - so hope I'm not the only one late ...

Just register on the site and submit games.

I believe the PFS room only holds 6 or at a push 7 tables.

You can play Master of the Fallen fortress multiple times as long as it is with a new character.

MoFf might be a good idea to get my secondary character off the ground in PFS..I really must get round to registering him..

Grand Lodge 5/5 ****

I just snapped up 7 tickets.

My wife will be doing all three parts of the Ice trilogy. Dave*2 and Phil B are the GMs.
For Part I and II she will bring with her Philip.

I will be doing the Master of the Fallen Fortress and play with Laura.

To compensate for all the tickets I send in 4 slots (instead of 2 I promised) to GM. I changed them a little from what I volunteered for orginally to better spread out across times with not too many games yet.

Penumbral Accord *2 (instead of once)
Voices in the Void *1 (Have done this 7 times and just have to do it once more)
Sniper in the Deep *1 (to have one higher level scenario as well)

Would someone mind explaining how these PFS sessions work? I signed up for the following session along with my son:

Pathfinder Society: Shades of Ice—Part II: Exiles of Winter
John R Davis
Saturday
3:00 pm

We have created 1st level characters according to the Guide to Oraganised Play and will bring these along, but what if the 4 other players turn up with higher level PCs? Could someone fill me in on exactly what goes on and how organised play works in practise?

Thanks

Hi Stu,

Feel free to contact me at paizoconuk@hotmail.com as I'm the Pathfinder Society organiser for this.

Essentially, you'll be grouped with similar level characters so you won't be with anybody above second level.

The scenario you have signed up for is actually the 2nd part of a three part series of scenarios. Although you cna play the first part without playing the second. However I would recommend you and your son play Master of the Fallen fortress which is an introductory scenario for beginning characters only. That will be run multiple times over the weekend.

Thanks for the reply! I actually GMed Master of the Fallen Fortress for my son and his friends during our Home Group in order for us to learn the Pathfinder rules. I have been roleplaying for 32 years and have played most forms of D&D in that time, so it was very failiar. My son had only played 4th Ed. before that, but he was fine with all of the concepts we ran into during the scenario.

We are both looking forward to our PFS session at the Expo; I will mail you with any other questions, so thanks for the offer.

Cheers,

Stu

22 of the 33 advertised PFS tables are now sold out. Only 34 seats left in total.

All 7 tables on Saturday morning are completely sold out, and Saturday evening with 5 tables only has 1 seat left.

Oddly Saturday afternoon with only 4 tables is not sold out (8 seats left). Though we need some spaces for drop-ins else we are in danger of turning all potential new players away.

I note Thod's scenarios aren't showing yet so that should add another 4 tables and 24 places.

Looks like most of the regulars/pre-bookers have already played Voice in the Void, but at least that means newcomers will get a look in.

That looks quite impressive. How many tables did we have last year? I can't remember many parallel ones.

I mainly opted for Penumbral/Voices in the Void as I have made some special boards for them to place the DwarvenForge on. I think they have been quite popular at Conception. Maybe at some stage I need to craft a few different ones.
This is also the reason I opted for Sniper in the Deep as I felt this isn't played much and offers a higher tier option for Saturday evening.

All the other high level scenarios have sold out, so that is likely a good choice.

I suspect we could run max tables from Friday evening through Sunday morning.

I agree. I have tried to put up a 'pick up' slot of one or two tables in each slot where people could turn up and choose a scenario but the Games Expo system/team won't let me put up slots which don't have a specific scenario and GM allocated :( However I think we've got enough volunteer GMs to do it.

I was a bit slow to sign up for this one so I've got in for Friday, and will have to mow the lawn for the rest of the weekend... :-)

Pity my poor DM; he's running three mods on Friday and has me as a player all day !

I am right in thinking I can play Master of the Fallen Fortress multiple times for credit, aren't I? I've done it with a barbarian [DM credit] and a rogue so I need something new and unusual for the next run. There was nothing else available at 10am.

Yeah you can play it multiple times as long as it is with different starting characters (ie it is the character's very first scenario).

Most of us are travelling up on the Friday morning so there's not much organised to run in that slot. If I get there early I may run the mini quest scenario.

Looks like you'll probably have ZomB as your GM. You'll be in good hands!

Grand Lodge 5/5 ****

Here are my scenarios that should come up eventually

Friday morning: Penumbral Accords
Friday evening: Voices in the Void
Saturday afternoon: Penumbral Accord
Saturday evening: Sniper in the Deep

I can't do as much GMing as at conception as I travel with the family and they might not appreciate it.

The first three scenarios should be build up in 3D using DwarvenForge. I still have to see if I can do something special with the Sniper in the Deep.

There's always the 'open gaming' tables at the Strathallen if we need extras..

have booked onto dave fri afternoon game, having realised i have neither played shades I, or gained credit, despite running it twice!

also means i will be there earlier than previouly planned and will get to play something

if i decide to stay sunday afteroon, any ideas what i should run?

Dark Archive 4/5

thenovalord wrote:

Most of the existing scenarios have sold out, so any of them, or I suspect any one off scenario. The only module _not_ in high demand seems to be Voice in the Void.

Of the 33 tables currently on offer there are only three tables that are not yet viable:
- Ice1 (1 table out of 5 not full)
- Ice3 (1 table out of 4 not full)
- Voice in the Void (1 table out of 2 not full).

Also Ice 2:Exiles, Dalsine Affair, Fallen Fortress have sold the most seats and the three high level scenarios sold out quickly.

I too am pondering which/how many extra scenarios I can/should run.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

ZomB, you are indeed my GM for Friday!

Is there any way of knowing what tier we're likely to be playing Before the Dawn at in advance?

wonder if there is a 'non-series' season 1 that could be run

Huzzah! Not unless Wintergreen has some secret divination mechanism, or they post on here or UK Roleplayers.

Heh, got to beat the Bourne supremacy on the number of tables run ;-)

The challenge is to run as many _different_ scenarios as you can!

I am thinking of Citadel of Flame and Infernal Vault as possible extras that I can run with no prep.

Though I suspect Fallen Fortress and maybe Mists of Mwangi might be in demand for a second outing.

got my hotel reward allocation email, wahoo

no breakfast ;-(

ah well, cant complain really

Overnight Sleeper booked and Hotel reservation confirmed. I'm in the Quality Hotel across the road from the Strathallen.

Five additional tables have gone up (including four from Thod) on the booking system.

So now there are 38 PFS tables in total of which 25 are already full. Just 54 seats are unfilled.

Pathfinder is responsible for 25% of the available RPG tables, and 39% of the total seats sold.

I've decided I won't do more than 4 slots over the three days as I want some time to see the rest of the show..not to mention eat and sleep.

Hi

Looks like it's just about booked up now - something like only one game per day with free slots :(

At least I'll get my four games at ShadowCon the weekend before. :)

Thanks

There are 14 tables still available with 60 spare seats spread throughout the convention, with only Saturday morning being sold out. The following scenarios currently have seats available:

BTD1: Bloodcove disguise
BTD2: Rescue at Azlant Ridge
Ice1: Written in Blood
Ice3: Keep of the Huskarl king
Deliriums Tangle
Dalsine affair
Voice in the void
Penumbral Accords
Sniper in the Deep
A generic high level scenario TBD

Plus it leaves slots open..I'm not greedy..getting up to 7th level is good enough..With Paizocon UK and Dragonmeet it means I'll be 9th by the end of the year.

Those of you attending with digital cameras don't forget to get some pictures... :)

Facepalm

I checked my schedule and in fact I'm doing 5 slots..duh.

2 with Wintergreen on Friday

2 with Novalord on Saturday

1 with Rob on Sunday

Only now I'm thinking that I might have to get my first level alternate out for most of these.

PS:Dave if we are running a society desk I'd be quite happy to help out there for a couple of hours

Thanks. We should have all the PFS games in the one room (not sure about Friday though) but it would be handy to have somebody able to explain briefly what PFS is and show some pre-gen characters.

See you on the Friday then :D

Id best read the mods then!!

at cons you do get a lot of starter characters in tier 1-5....not looking forward to some of the horrors folks may bring from UM...it looks a tad broken in parts

Just make sure you've checked out what is not legal from the UM and remember that if anybody brings out anything you don't recognise then they need to provide the source for you to look at - otherwise it's a no go.

Generally at UK conventions people are okay about it. It's more likely that somebody has misunderstood something or not updated it than they're trying to create some monster.

But mistakes have been noticed so I would recommend that all GMs have a quick look at characters and make sure the chronicle sheets are in order.
