Hmm...I'll have to talk to Mrs. Painlord about this.

It's close to PaizoCon, but might be able to swing it.

And if there will be Floozie Bunnies there, that's just gold.

GRRRRR

Sorry all, I had to fix the schedule and add the event codes (and edit the digs at Kyle). The modules are just identified by name alone--keep in mind that the modules run across several slots. Please re-submit your events to The Gathering if you didn't use the event code (PFS X-XX). Thanks!

How are slots assigned? First come, first serve? Do we get the event codes from the origins site? I can't see it currently due to work internet filter.

You should see them now. Yes, slots are first come, first served. I hope to have two spare GMs per slot who can jump in should we have overflow. I am suspecting that I scheduled too few slots of events based on the GenCon sign-up frenzy.

I assumed the event code was the scenario number;

I think if I go to Origins that I'll avoid signing up to GM. And just volunteer to be the overflow specialist. That way I don't have to decide if I'm going now and can have a more relaxed con experience.

FWIW, if you sign up for Cult of the Ebon Destroyers, the maps I'm drawing for it will be on site regardless if I am or not.

Have fun guys!

Well, assuming the slots I want to run are still available by the time I get home tonight. I will sign up at that point.

If there aren't, I guess I'll be bringing all of my prepped modules so I can take overflow. I think I'm up to 10 or so prepped, and by orgins I'll probably have around 15.

Hehe.

The best part of you guys being part of The Gathering is you can get some exposure to the other living campaigns that fall under the same umbrella.

Chronicles of the Shattered Empires (New Living Arcanis)
Witch Hunter (I've written for this campaign)
Heroes of Rokugan (By far my favorite campaign and Shisumo from these boards is part of the admin team)

Last year they also had:

Legend of the Shining Jewel
Exodus

If you get a chance to play, I highly recommend looking aorund.

Deal! I can finally use my years of close quarters combat training for something other than beating my brothers senseless.

All right. I'm afraid I'm being stupid.

I'm happy to go and support Pathfinder and the PFS, and I'm willing to fill in where needed.

So, I send an email to the Gathering people, telling them, what, exactly?

"I would like to sign up for eight slots for Pathfinder Society. Use me wherever there's a gap"?

Do I also need to register for the convention itself, at the Origins website? If so, how do I let Origins know that I've told the Gathering people I want to GM?

If I volunteer, and it's first-come-first-served, and if I don't get eight slots (ergo, don't get a hotel room) what are my options?

That's exactly what I would say Chris

"Hi, I'd like to volunteer for 8 random slots running PFS games. I don't care which slots and am more than happy to be listed as a 'classic' judge for walk-up tables. I will be at the convention for day X to day Y."

As for options .. I have no idea.. I would assume that if there is a room of pfs males that you could crash on their floor or something, not sure who else from our area is going or who to point you towards for possible room sharing.

I'm not pre-paying for a badge, I'm assuming that will be taken care of by the gathering people. I'm also not signing up differently on the origins website as I'll be judging all weekend.

Be patient, The Gathering staff is made up of volunteers. James Zwiers, the Director, is also deeply involved in Paradigm Concepts (Arcanis/Witch Hunter) and probably has a full time job someplace else just to pay the bills.

If you want to volunteer for 8 slots and there aren't enough PFS slots left for you to get to 8, you can always volunteer to run something else from a different campaign. I'm not sure what all is available, but I think Chris would make an excellent Witch Hunter GM. I did ask for spare GMs to handle overflow, but I doubt I will get my request.

Mrs. Painlord has nicely given me leave for the week to attend/judge at Origins.

Two queries remain:
1) Am I too late and are judging slots filled? I only want to judge 4 slots (so I have time to annoy/vex/pester Thea and Todd Morgan).

2) I'm looking to split a hotel room. I'm way to old/grumpy to sleep on floors and cram into a room with 278 others. Anyone have a spare bed?

You will have to e-mail The Gathering and ask if there are slots left. I have a feeling their in-box has been inundated with eager PFS GMs and they're still sorting thing out. Personally I have not volunteered for anything yet. I am paying my own way and planning on being there to plug any gaps that need plugging. I expect there will be a lot of walk-up players with generic tickets.

I have a roommate already :(

Yea, my going to Origin's is completely dependent on 8 slots and the free Badge/room. I'd have to scrap the trip if I don't get that. So, I'll wait patiently and save my coppers in the meantime.

Helz yes, I'll be there. With the help of the Fluffy CatBunnyGnome, my list was submitted earlier this week. Yes, I am a glutton, and will do all ten slots (plus a post-con slot on Sunday) if they accept my request. If so, I would be happy to give up 1-2 slots if someone needs one to fill their minimum requirement for GM benefits. Guess, we'll just need to wait for them to reply to the emails.
