Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

You very much are, yes.

Now I have visions of this group of adventurers, wasting away, hair falling out in clumps, saying to one another "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. I don't feel so mythic any more."

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

A dwarf without his beard? Blasphemy.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

My posting will continue to be sporadic the first half of this week, and then likely nonexistent until next Monday. I've got a project I need to rush through the next three days so I'm ready for some playtesting at Paizocon.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Sorry folks. I lost track of my campaign notes and a necessary sourcebook. Turns out I forgot them over at a friend's house. Will post as soon as he drops them off.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Hey again. Had to go fetch the stuff myself as he couldn't be bothered to remember to drop them by. Things are a bit hectic right now and I need some time to manage several projects and some other things finished and put to bed so I have more time for more lucrative and pleasant activities. I'll forge on regardless by this Friday, but right now I'm up to my neck in a lot of s+*# and need to start bailing. Hopefully I'll be more relaxed, less frustrated, and be able to get things rolling smoothly by the weekend.

"What's in the booooox?"

On a more serious note, just stopping by to indicate that I am still alive.

Yep

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Sorry, the unpleasantness carried through the weekend, but I've rode out the worst, I think.

Stilgar...you look in the box and...

Spoiler:
It's your own head, staring back at you!

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Anyone still alive out there?

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

Same here.

Female Human Witch (Stars)/ 1st Tier Archmage

I'm here.

I'm here, though I'm sorry I haven't been more active. Would it be possible to get a summary post, just covering where we've been and where we're supposed to go?

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

I'm here, sorry. I'm not on the boards that much these days so I've gotten pretty lax at checking in on things.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Let me explain.

No, is too much. Let me sum up:

After you received portions of Wayland's power, in preparation of heading west to find the wizard Varras, you journeyed to the crater and found nothing within. The dwarven camp on the far side was all but abandoned except for five odd dwarves. Stilgar and Magnus parleyed with them and were led into a tent and shown a chest filled with earth, growing strange mushrooms, which acted strangely in their presence "popping up" like umbrellas turning inside out in a strong wind. The two were dismissed and returned to the party.

Meanwhile, the rest who were waiting discovered that the wagon they were hiding behind was full of dwarven skeletons. It appeared as if something organic had dissolved away their flesh. What originally appeared to be a dirt road leading away from the area was actually a trail. Whatever is leaving it appears to be dissolving everything in its path. The party took off after whatever it was (with Magnus taking his familiar's body over temporarily to sneak into the tent, where he found two fungoid growths had sprouted from the dirt inside. He took one, packing it away.)

Now the party is up in the hills in pursuit of whatever killed the dwarves. Tracks indicate that the rest of the dwarves and their mounts also came this way. Magnus and Whisperwing (and therefore Kalaya) are aware of the faint sounds of shouting in the distance--and the owl can see torchlight beyond the hilltops--though the rest of the group remain unaware of this.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Roll call!

If you're still in the game and you haven't posted in the last day or so, give me some posts. I'm at the point where looking for replacements is a serious consideration to keep the game going.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

All right, then. PMs to the MIAs and a 24 hour grace period. Then I figure out a cool way to transfer mythic power from one person to another...

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

I suppose the chances of running into other mythical warriors with a common goal is pretty unlikely then. That's one of the difficulties with running a mythic campaign, I guess. :P

Also, a second Magnus. Baal save us all.

Magnus always reminds me of Threepio from Return of the Jedi when he does his magical storytelling...

Once Kalaya's had time to read and digest this information, she can disseminate it to the rest of the party.

Kalaya::
Here's the info available concerning the starmilk (thaumeteoric iron), tektites (crystals of meteoric quartz glass), and their applications.

Starmilk:

Weapons fashioned from starmilk can inflict targeted dispel magic effects in addition to their regular damage.

Armor fashioned from starmilk has a reduced arcane spell failure chance.

Starmilk has hardness 10 and 30 hit points per inch of thickness.

Tektites:

Appearing as pebble-sized chunks of glass with white and blue color swirling through them, a single tektite has a market value of 25 gp. Spellcasters find that certain spells respond favorably to the addtion of a tektite as a material component. Using the tektite to improve the spell requires a Spellcraft check (DC 15+ the spell's level). As with any component, casting the spell consumes the tektite (even if the Spellcraft check fails).

call lightning/call lightning storm: +1d6 electricity damage (+1d10 for stormy conditions)
control weather: increases the duration by 4 hours
control winds: increases the duration by 1 hour
elemental swarm: (earth only) +1 elemental for each appearance
feather fall: doubles the fall limit
flaming sphere: sphere inflicts an additional +1d6 damage
gust of wind: increases duration by +1 round/level
ice storm: +1d6 bludgeoning damage
magic stone: +2 enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls
storm of vengeance: +1d6 acid damage per round

Astromancy

The following feats can be taken by those whose environment has been changed by the events of the starfall.

Astromancy
You are an astromancer, meaning that you can unlock the power resident in some meteorites.
Prerequisite: 1st level spellcaster
Benefit: You can cast astromancy spells (described later). Having this feat also opens up other astromancy-related feats, as well as giving you a +1 competence bonus on Spellcraft checks that deal with astromancy.
Normal: Without this feat, a character cannot use astromancy.
Special: On first taking this feat, a character gains one-time access to 1,000 gp worth of starmilk, which can be used to form the character's astromancy focus or for any other purpose. A character who has already taken the Star Emblem feat does not gain this supply of starmilk (the star emblem simultaneously serves as the character's astromancy focus).

Star Emblem
You can unlock the power resident in some meteorites and channel that power into your body.
Prerequisite: Base attack bonus of +3 or higher
Benefit: This feat opens up the path to various Star Emblem-requisite feats, as well as giving you a +1 astromantic bonus on your attack rolls. In order to take advantage of this feat and those for which it is a prerequisite, you must prepare a metallic emblem forged of starmilk. Much like a spellcaster must keep his astromancy focus to use astromancy, you must keep your star emblem on your personto use any Star Emblem-requisite feats (including gaining the +1 bonus to your attack rolls). many characters with this feat wear their star emblems as badges.
Normal: Without this feat, a character cannot gain additional Star Emblem-requisite feats.
Special: On first taking this feat, a character gains one-time access to 1,000 gp worth of starmilk, which can be used to forge a star emblem or for any other purpose. A character who has already taken the Astromancy feat does not gain this additional supply of starmilk (the astromancy focus simultaneously servs as the character's star emblem).

More to follow.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Hope everyone's holidays went well. For purposes of purchases, Pivesti is a village with a population of about 150. Weapons are available, though only Stilgar and Magnus can legally make purchases of any prohibited weaponry. The local shrine may have a few potions or scrolls available, though again Stilgar or Magnus will likely have to make the actual transaction.

Probably a long shot, but is there anyone in Pivesti that can work the starmilk? Granted, crafting might take longer than we can afford to stick around.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Ulli and Dromi can work it, if you want to take the time. As Auric mentioned, coin may not get you what you want in the wilds. The starmilk could be a useful barter item if you're willing to part with it though.

Something I noticed on my character sheet.

Stilgar (and Magnus, I believe) have apparently been hauling around a month's worth of rations for like... three years of real time, lol. Kind of hard to keep track of that sort of thing. I suppose I should assume that it has all been eaten by now, at some points in time.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Yeah, I think we can assume that went awhile back.

I love moments like that.

"Wait...hold up...you can turn into a mule??"

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

It's Paizocon week, folks, and I'm heading out Thursday, so my online time will be sporadic to nonexistent. I'll be back home Monday evening, so I'll try to catch up on things on Tuesday.

In the meantime, formulate your plan to deal with the ogre and take any measures you need. When you've got your plan, we'll see what comes of it.

Kalaya::
I think we're waiting on Kalaya to cast any debuffs and then Magnus will do his thing. I'll continue even if Kalaya has no debuffs to offer.

GM:
Magnus casts his series of spells to control the ogre in either case.

Female Human Witch (Stars)/ 1st Tier Archmage

Sorry lost the notification on this game, will post in a few.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

Sorry, can anyone remind me how many ingots of starmilk we have?

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

I don't think I gave you an actual amount, but Ulli and Dromi gave you half their haul by way of thanks, so we'll say a small crate of ingots. Total value: 5,000 gp.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

PC hive mind: starting bid of 500 gp worth of ingots?

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

One-tenth of the haul sounds good to me.

Female Human Witch (Stars)/ 1st Tier Archmage

Works for me, sorry was without internet last 3 days.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

From Friday to Monday night I will be traveling to Chicago for a wedding- I'm not sure it will be necessary, but feel free to DMPC me in order to keep things moving.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Sorry for the bog-down, folks. With the release, unrelease, and expected re-release of the Interface Zero 2.0 for Pathfinder playtest, I've been a little distracted. Once things have smoothed out--probably by tomorrow morning--I'll hit the gas and get moving on the pirate attack.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Hey everybody- I'm trying to get a Trail of Cthulhu game rolling on the boards here, if anyone is interested in some Lovecraftian hijinks. If you aren't familiar with Trail, it's a similar premise to Call of Cthulhu, but in my opinion, the rules are much simpler and better geared toward investigation games. Here's the recruitment thread if any of you are curious. Thanks!

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

We still alive here? Don't mean to be pushy or anything, just want to make sure. I know it slows down here every so often. :P

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Sorry, been meaning to prod this along, but things have not been good lately. I'll post a round of actions tomorrow morning if no one else posts any actions for the next round.

Female Human Witch (Stars)/ 1st Tier Archmage

Yeah I'm here too.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

Sorry Shadowborn, thought we were waiting on you for some reason. That being said, is everyone else still alive?

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Magnus PMed me to let me know he'll be withdrawing from the campaign. I'll bot him as an NPC until there's an appropriate departure point. Meantime, we can look for a replacement, assuming everyone else is good to continue on.

Female Human Witch (Stars)/ 1st Tier Archmage

I actually thought we were waiting on you as well. Sorry I'll post in a bit. Getting ready for work.
