PFS in Oklahoma

Liberty's Edge

I'm curious if there's a pathfinder society in Oklahoma, preferably in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. If so I'd love to know when you play and see about joining in.

There is some PFS play in Oklahoma City. Approximately every 1 1/2 to 2 months there is a Pathfinder game day at Game HQ (located south Oklahoma City). The monthly newsletter Game HQ puts out (which can be read on their website at gameheadquarters.com) will have the info on if there will be a Pathfinder Day. We also ran Pathfinder at Stillcon in Stillwater a few weeks back and expect we will run it next year as well. Next game day at Game HQ is April 23. There is a $3 entry for the day and usually we have 2 sessions of two tables prepared. Normal start time varies between 11am-12:30pm.

How crowded is it, and how can you find out what scenarios are running? I find myself with some interest, but I'm unsure I can spare the time.

Historically we've had anywhere between 5 to 14 or so players at one or two tables, but there might be an increase due to running games at Stillcon in late March. As far as what is going to be played that tends to be worked out on site, depending on who shows up, what they've played and what GM's might have prepped. Our little group is definitely not hyper-organized. The primary official/unofficial coordinator is Michael Kirk at Game HQ, although sometimes someone else will be in charge and Mike will show up later or simply just play.

Cool. I'll try and be there.

I'm new to organized play, what will I need?

Also, my g/f is new to roleplaying in general and may want to come, is this a newb friendly environment?

I don't know if you can make a Wednesday night or where you live, but there's going to be a game in Stillwater, Oklahoma at Alternate Realities at 6pm every Wednesday. It's looking like very soon we'll be having 2 tables, and almost everyone is between the levels of 1 and 3. We're also going to have two sessions on Saturdays every other month. The first Saturday game will be in May.

Contact information is Gina Starr (gmstarr@yahoo.com) or Ken Miller (kenmstillwater@yahoo.com)

If you haven't already, download and read the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play. Register to get a player number. Create at least one pathfinder society legal character and show up with your character(s) and gaming stuff. Help the g/f get prepared as well and there shouldn't be any issues.

On Wednesday nights I'm afraid not, I live in Henryetta and would have a heck of a time making it to Stillwater on anything resembling a regular basis.

I might try for one of the Saturday games. Are they being held at Ivory and Steel or is there some other game store in town now? (I went to school in Stillwater back in 2000 - 2003.)

------

I've read the guide so check that, and registered as well (though I haven't quite made a character yet).

My gaming stuff is on my laptop, I assume so long as it is all legal that's acceptable? Would my g/f and I be able to share the laptop?

There's a game store called Alternate Realities that opened in Stillwater about three years ago. Our first Saturday game is going to be the third weekend in May. In April, we're going down to OKC to play at Games HQ.

Laptops are fine for our games in Stillwater, although if you're running two characters off one laptop (like on pcgen), it'd be easier if one of you had a hard copy.

No issues about laptops at Game HQ. Just don't drop it while passing it back and forth.

UPDATE!

PFS is being run once a month on a Saturday Day of Games, two adventures. We usually have 4-5 tables. There are always 1-5 level adventures being run in starting at 1100 or so, on multiple tables. In the evening we have a mid level and higher level table. There is also PFS every Thursday night, usually 1-2 tables low to mid levels.

You don't need a character to play the first time, we have Pre-Generated characters available. We are very open to new players!

Game Headquarters has a new location - Suite B, 9118 South Western Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73139
(405) 691-0509

Hope to see you there!
