For all of Osirion! Looking for a Living Monolith!

Scarab Sages

I'm interested in a little bit of RP information.
There's a lot of Prestige Classes out there, nowadays, and I am curious about ones being played by Osirion players. Specifically, I play a Fighter who is taking levels in the Living Monolith Prestige class. What I am trying to do is fill in some of the history and roleplaying notes that aren't able to be played in the PFS scenarios, because there's not a whole lot of RP that can always be added in organized play.

The Living Monolith has a prerequisite (that is hand-waved in PFS) that requires a ceremony that must be attended by another Living Monolith (or a sphinx). I think that it would be rather cool to find out if there are other Living Monoliths in the PFS, and perhaps be able to add them into the stories that I write for my PC.

So, all of you Osirion faction players sound off! Let's see what the most popular Prestige Classes are for our faction, especially if there's Living Monoliths. Don' be afraid to "snitch" on a fellow player ... if you know someone who's playing a Living Monolith in the PFS, shout it out loud! ... and if you are really pleased with the Prestige class you play, feel free to note that as well!

For the Ruby Prince, for the Ancestors gone before us, and for the great land of Osirion!

I ran a table for 2 or 3 LM's last year at GenCon.

Maybe check with Ricky Bobby or Nok'To'Kah?

I would never snitch on anyone who played characters from the Osirion faction. They have enough shame to live with already without me adding more.

I've got an elf (who works for Osirion) who's gone the way of the Pathfinder Delver.

And we have a local guy in Raleigh [Elliot Garrou] who plays a Monolith named Ruffles.

other Living Monoliths in the PFS,

I've got one in PFS now called Rapa. He is a Dwarf Fighter/Ranger/Living Monolith.

Not a fan of humans and loves the underground.

And the peanut gallery pipes in. Demoyn, I guess I ought to be glad to know that you wouldn't snitch me off ... and I'm glad to know that you still note the shame of "The Fighter Who Never Hits". ;)

I had actually forgotten about your reputation of never hitting. Playing a level 7 in a subtier 3-4 mod didn't remind me of that. Bill's cleric is an Osirion I believe.

Naadhira al-Zawree approaches the gathering of followers of the Ruby Prince and intently scans the crowd.
Dressed as a black nun with large symbols of a maw surrounded by insectoid legs, the symbols on her shield seem to move in some unholy way. Her face would be beautiful, were it not for her ashen, almost cadaverous skin tone. After looking for a while, she turns back and leaves, ignoring any calls, shouts or attempts at communicating.

Naadhira is an oracle of Rovagug. Unless one of you is no longer living, she has no time to waste with you.

Qa'Pelos looks about the square, watching all the people pass with interest, surveying each with a critical eye. Many are the people of this strange city, foreign in every way. His dark Garundi eyes take the measure of each man he sees pass, calculating each by his gait, his demeanor, his stature ... and he looks for the details that he knows only few would recognize. The grey cast that denotes skin that is infused with the power of ancient stone and the far away stare of a man that is able to see the life force of every creature around him. In the distance, he spies the heavy form of a dwarf lumbering through the wet streets, and he sees a glimmer from his brow. "Could it be a diadem he wore?" Qa'Pelos wonders to himself as he tries to catch another glimpse of the stocky man. With a solid resolve, he sets out with determination to find the passing Dwarf.

<beams a big ol' grin>
You know, it's interesting to me that there've been two dwarves mentioned. That never even crossed my mind when I was making Qa'Pelos. A very interesting choice, to be certain. I think that I kind of like it. :) Especially since their Stability bonuses stack between race and PrC. Qa'Pelos is a Combat Manuever junkie, and the idea of a +8 to avoid trips and Bull Rushes is pretty massive.
So ... thus far we have:

    Ricky Bobby or Nok'To'Kah
    Ruffles - (Elliot Garrou)
Rapa - Dwarf Fighter/Ranger/Living Monolith (James Risner)
    Grog Stronghammer - Dwarf Osirion Ftr5/LivMono5 (San-Chez)

Qa'Pelos listens to lore long into the evening as the doughty man steadfastly passes the legends and beliefs of the monoliths along to him. Unwaveringly into the night, as the rain quietly mists in the air, the two of them take a journey by the light of campfire, into the past. Just out of sight, the spirits of their ancestors watched them, and approved.

I look at it more of a flavor thing being a dwarf. His love of stone surpasses all other passions that he seeks to become living imortal stone

That is just the way Grog sees it

That really kind of makes sense ... I hadnt thought of it in the sense that it's about stone ... Qa'Pelos looks at it from an aspect of protecting and venerating the ancient dead. He's to become an immortal statue standing guard over his ancestors.

But the aspect of stone cannot be ignored. It is undoubtedly likely that - in a world with dwarves - that they would likely be drawn to this class. Obviously, dwarves that are from Osirion are much more likely to follow the PrC.
:) ... in point of fact, the more I think about it, I kind of liek the idea of pseudo-Egyptian dwarves. They would be part of the society from which they hail, so why not have them defend their ancestors the same way an Osiriani human would. :)

Don't forget the Egyptian god of Luck, Bes, was a dwarf!

That was my thought, too. I haven't made it to Living Monolith, yet, but my dwarf is from Osirion. If you read the Dwarves of Golarion book, you will find a sect of dwarves from the south of that country called the Pahmet. In ancient times they were the gods' messengers to the Pharaohs. This is Khaldun's lineage.

I'm just happy to see people enjoying the PrC. :)

A fun little addendum to the thread: this weekend at Comicpalooza, I got to meet another player who's taking the LM class ... and if all goes right, we're going to make a little of RP of our own, and come up with a little short story or something about how I got to be the LM that was present for his ceremony for binding his Ka Stone.

Neat the way things work out sometimes. :D

I would have posted under the alias of my Osirion faction character Ajit Karan - the Eldritch Knight, but I don't think VCs can post in the Pathfinder Society messageboards with anything other than their real name and tag.

Very cool. :)

You are looking for Nok'To'Kah I think he was a human but not for sure on that one. His buddy was also playing a LM but I can't remember his name. Ricky Bobby is just an archer that likes to shoot fast.

Im actually playing a Chelaxian Living monolith. Just got 2nd level LM, and Ive got to say, its a lot of fun.

Fluff wise, did it for the immortality.
