Inner Sea World Guide has spoilers?

I just picked up the Inner Sea World Guide and have perused several sections already.

Before I continue reading, however, I wanted to ask two questions:

1) Has the time line been moved forward/updated since the v3.5 campaign guide?

2) If so, should I be wary of adventure path spoilers?

My friends and I are currently running through the Legacy of Fire and Kingmaker adventure paths currently (in book 2 of both) and I fear that the time line of the World Guide has passed those adventure paths and I might accidentally stumble on some spoiler, diminishing the fun of either adventure path.

I'm also concerned about possible spoilers for other adventure paths that we are not currently running.

Are there any spoilers? And if so, what adventure paths do they pertain to and what sections can they be found in, in the book? I want to know what sections to avoid until the adventure's conclusion.

While I haven't read every last word in the book yet, I have not seen any spoilers so far. The time line is not moved forward.

The timeline has technically been moved forward, to 4711 AR, yet they don't assume that any of the APs have actually happened yet, just that they are possibilities.

For example, in terms of Korvosa and Curse of the Crimson Throne, Queen Ileosa is assumed to be running things, but her husband is still supposedly alive, just inactive.

There are a few spoilers, mostly map-based. A dot in Varisia for Xin-Shalast, a dot in the Mwangi Expanse for Saventh-Yhi. The background for Legacy of Fire is discussed in the Katapesh history chapter, however. Nothing about the modern day plot, but more details than the PCs are given for quite some time. You might want to avoid that one.

Beyond the map-based spoilers, there are a few other spoilers sprinkled here and there into the book. No more so than there were in the previous hardcover... but the "Inner Sea World Guide" is a GM-resource first and foremost. Most of these spoilers have to do with foreshadowing events in adventure paths or incorporating world history into the book from stuff that we've covered in Adventure Paths.

Thinking specifically about Legacy of Fire as an example... there is indeed some stuff mentioned in the section on Katapesh that is information that we didn't reveal in print until we did that AP, and as such some of it might be considered spoilers for that AP.

But frankly? I wouldn't count them as spoilers as much as I would count them as teasers.

Are there some things in the Inner Sea World Guide that some GMs might not want their players to know about, depending on that GM's personality and the nature of the campaign? Absolutely.

But NONE of the actual in-play events of any adventure or adventure path are assumed to have happened yet by the Inner Sea World Guide, and thus those events aren't talked about at all.

It's only the events in the history or an adventure or AP's background that could well be spoiled by an in-depth reading of the Inner Sea World Guide.

Players/GMs who are worried about spoilers to this degreee should have their players read the Inner Sea Primer and the appropriate Player's Guides and the various Player's Companion products.

Since I haven't said it yet: Thank you! I've seen you talk about this before, and I'm very glad of your philosophy of never obsoleting an adventure. I'm coming into this a bit late -- played a lot of AD&D in college, then kind of skipped over 3/3.5 -- and now coming back into the hobby, but without the cash (or time) to burn on completionism.

I really like your system and your world, and look forward to playing older adventures with newer friends. Cheers! :)
