Cooperative crafting questions

Rules Questions

So I'm going to be playing a construct rider in a new game coming up, and I don't want to spend an absurd amount of time to craft my constructs so I was looking into speeding it up and found both accelerated crafting and cooperative crafting and I had a few questions on them

1a. Can you have multiple creatures assist in crafting increasing the gold/day crafted each time

1b. Since it's multiplicative would it just increase the ammt by 1k gold or double it again

1c. Would multiple creature with cooperative crafting increase the circumstance bonus granted from the feat

2. How would accelerated crafting interact with cooperative crafting? Like would it go from 1k to 2k from cooperative and then go to 4k with accelerated crafting?

3. Can a creature both assist (make a skill check and you get a bonus depending on the score) and gain the effects of cooperative crafting

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Cooperative Crafting feat note that all creatures involved have to have the feat.

Craft skill: Accelerated Crafting You may voluntarily add +10 to the indicated DC to craft an item. This allows you to create the item more quickly (since you’ll be multiplying this higher DC by your Craft check result to determine progress). You must decide whether to increase the DC before you make each weekly or daily check.

sometimes multiplying can get funny in PF1 especially when it involves cash/cost, increasing bonuses, CR, multiple powers in a single magic item, etc. From the way that Coop Crafting is worded it only addresses 1+1 helper. With that in mind it is a GM decision. I'd assume the worst that it is a flat *2 rate with 1 to 100 helpers as it's undefined rather than assuming it is iterative. Sometimes you'll see logarithmic adding or conversion to +2^(n-1) adding rather than multiplying. The reasoning behind such schemes is it is viewed as a power(vector) rather than a simple number or scaler.
Likely the +2 crcm bonus will accrue as circumstance bonuses 'stack'.

on the last point only one creature is going to make the skill check. In old terms he is the 'primary' and everyone else is assisting. There's no additional "aid another" as that's clearly rolled into the feat as is.

There is Crafter's Fortune:T1 along with masterwork tools and magic items with luck bonuses and that will all apply only to the primary crafter. All the time spent crafting needs to be covered by any spell duration.

===old stuff===
FR3.5:Master Arcane Artist note Efficient Item creation, Magical Artisan isn't listed. Circle Magic is also interesting.
3.5 Item Creation feats

if you are looking for a path to power, this ain't it.

I'll add that within PF1 lore Jistkan were known for crafting golems

Benefit: You can assist another character in crafting mundane and magical items. You must both possess the relevant Craft skill or item creation feat, but either one of you can fulfill any other prerequisites for crafting the item. You provide a +2 circumstance bonus on any Craft or Spellcraft checks related to making an item, and your assistance doubles the gp value of items that can be crafted each day.

The feat specifies both not all, it also uses the word either not any. That would indicate only two characters can cooperate in the creation of the item. If all you want is to gain the +2 bonus to the skill roll the aid another rules already allow that, but you would not the doubling of value of items crafted per day. Even if you can use with more than one character, it would not increase the amount past double.

The attack action specifies that it damages a single target, does this mean that my buddy and I cannot both stab the same ogre? So why can't two people use cooperative crafting to help the same "ogre"?

I forgot that circumstance bonuses stack as long as they are not the same source. That does change things a little. Two different characters are different sources so the circumstance bonus would stack. The doubling of the gp values still does not stack.

Aid another gives an is an untyped bonus which means you can gain the bonus from both the feat and using aid another.

The doubling from spirited charge (or a successful braced attack) and a critical hit stack (adding up to a tripling), so why does the doubling from multiple instances of cooperative crafting not stack?

I thought that 2 or more characters can share prerequisites? For example, one character could have scribe scroll feat while the other could provide the spell.

Mind you, this does not increase the speed of crafting; only makes it easier. I think 2 or more characters can work together to craft faster using certain feats.

normal crafting allow for this. but if you want the benefit of the Cooperative Crafting feat that is posted above both member's must have the crafting feats.

-which is why the Valet familiar archtype is so useful, as it gain the feat and is considered to have all the master's crafting feats and skills.
