Let's just say that this thread mutated horribly from its original intention.

Wait, you're still posting here. What gives?

Now...we're evenly divisible by 3. OCD meltdown averted.

It could be far, far worse, Imagine if you will, that it were three long posts?

Unfortunately, I don't even feel up to posting one long post

It has a bit to go!

He was stalking along the corridor. He was sure he made no noise, but with the enemy he faced this day, he didn't want to take any chances, so he kept glancing in both directions. Silently cursing his rotten luck that brought him here, he passed another door to get to the one his contacts had told him were the right one.

"Don't get careless so close to the goal," he told himself, listening at the door for a long time until he was sure nobody was behind, not even someone asleep. He searched for all the traps he knew and for anything else he might not know yet. Against all expectations, the door was clean.

He half expected the information to be wrong, but he caught a brief glance of the Lady as he found what he was looking for.

That made him really nervous. Things were working almost too well. A long experience in undertakings like this told him that one that went over without complications was rarer than an honest politician with the good of the world foremost in his mind. He almost wished for something to go wrong, just to release the tension.

And it was more than that: He longed for the thrill.

A long experience in undertakings like this told him that one that went over without complications was rarer than an honest politician with the good of the world foremost in his mind. He almost wished for something to go wrong, just to release the tension.

And it was more than that: He longed for the thrill.

He wondered why this realisation still shocked him. Was he insane for longing for the danger and still repressing the feeling whenever he was in saver situations? Or was everyone like that?

Lost in these thoughts he heard the footsteps almost too late. A split second later and he couldn't move away from where he stood, which was the middle of the room, the door still open.

He quickly hid behind the door, but he needn't have bothered: whoever walked past either didn't notice the open door, or just ignored it.

Still, this was far too close to a self-fulfilling prophecy for his liking. He resolved there and then to seek help right after this mission was over.

Which brought him back into the present and the task at hand.

He really looked around the room for the first time. All was as he had been told. He went to his right, towards the vessel, the container of his desires.

His pulse quickened. He realised his hands were clammy under his gloves. So close!

He opened the container, and as soon as his eyes fell on the desolate emptiness, he knew he was betrayed. And he just knew the enemy was standing behind him, that the footfalls earlier were not random, that the open door was had not been ignored or overlooked. They had been toying with him. He slowly turned around, to find his fears confirmed.

... the little brats were standing there, grinning, lollipops in their disgusting little pie holes! The very same lollipops he wanted to steal from them just to eat them like they did now - while looking at them, grinning, without any lollies of their own.

He felt his bladder let go to vent the rage, but he didn't care.
