Philosophically Speaking.... [Spoilers may appear]

Council of Thieves

Last night we kicked off part 4 of CoT. At some point they encountered a dottari sergeant that told them the mayor was missing and they wanted him found so they could bring him to safety. Some of you may know why he's missing, so I'll not go into that. Vahan the Paladin was in this way more or less asked by the "police" to do this thing. So far so good.

Later they in fact ran into the mayor. (The wizard's sorcerer cohort "tried" to heal him with a blast of heavenly fire, didn't turn out too well, but the CG Cleric of Gorum quickly applied a CMW, so all in all no harm done... After he had conveyed his informations to the group he declared himself ready to leave, bade them farewell and began retreating.

Then this amazing discussion occured. The cleric declared that it was the mayor's responsibility to stay and help out. That it was his duty. The paladin was more like 'ah well, let him go, not our problem'... This is a short version of it. I had this surreal feeling that they had somehow switched lines. The arguments coming from the cleric should have come from the paladin and vice versa. In the end the mayor tried to run away. wiggled his way out of a web spell, dodged a create pit but was cought by the bard's inquisitor cohort.

Strange things happens....

I think that these are simple role-playing mistakes (hopefully made by tired players) and no big deal.

The lines would be exchanged back to the correct character when the epic tale is written for publication, so no worries. :)
