Put me down for:

  • Linnorm Kings (tack on pirates if you must)
  • Nex-Geb-Manawastes
  • Mendevian Crusade (we're waited long enough)
  • Runelords Sequel
  • Azlant!

  • RPG Superstar 2011 Top 16

We need a war-themed AP that's Dwarves vs Orcs. For the first few books you're running supply lines and participating in smaller skimishes, and by the final book, you're leading the army. Throw in some sort of mid-series distraction where you get to "dig too deep, too fast" and accidentally unleash a demon from the center of the earth that throws off the war.

    More dwarves!

APs that explores Arcadia, Azlant, and/or Sarusan would rock.

    +1

I'd also like to see an AP that requires the characters to go into SPACE!

Possibly to conduct whaling on the moon, which I understand requires harpoons.

Okay, I don't know if this was already posited, but it seems that the majority of people are clamoring for pirates or Land of the Linnorm Kings/Irrisen. It seems a simple solution to please the two largest camps is:

    VIKINGS!!!

    -1

This smacks of trying to please everyone and ending up pleasing... less. No thanks. I like both, but I want both separately.

I can wait for my Linnorm Kings AP before over-compromising and gutting what would otherwise have been an awesome pirate AP.

Numeria. Either an AP, or an arc of modules like the Crown of the Kobold King et al.

    In no particular order:

    1. Vikings/Linnorm Kings...vikings are just plain awesome. Needs to have lots of dragons and linnorms and drakes....and wolves...have to have wolves...

    2. Mega-dungeon - and yes, I love dungeons

    3. Sword & Planet - This has Erik written all over it

    4. Leng...this is creepy + cool all rolled into one. Just turn loose Greg & Rich, and the result would be great...

    5. The Paizo version of Planescape...Todd writes his first AP...

    6. Anything else with castles and dungeons..

    7. Pirates would be good too, but I would take vikings over pirates

    8. I would be good with a Paizo version of steam punk

    10. More horror AP's...go Wes!

I asked James about a more war oriented path, and he said that has already kinda been explored with Kingmaker. However, I'd like to see one more solidly focused on an active war developing and under way.

Then again, I haven't read Kingmaker, so I don't know how warry it is.

I'd love to see a Red Hand of Doom-ish path.

To my knowledge, orcs haven't been figured prominently in any AP so it would be fun to see them. They may be a bit too generic of a villain but I'd like to see an AP feature them at least for a while like goblins, drow, gnolls, kobolds, and serpentfolk have gotten. Edit: These have all been done well, and I'd like to see Paizo's treatment of the race as a foe.

I'd love to see an AP focused on orcs, but only if it expanded them beyond just badguys to be slaughtered. Something that made them more than just monsters. Multiple factions struggling against or entangled with each other, some sympathetic, some very much not, and providing some actual complexity for the players besides just "see orc, kill orc". Such an AP could be a way to really breathe some new life into the race and would make orc fans happy.

much to my surprise there has been no support for an Osirion based AP. So here is mine. An AP involving any OTHER Pharaoh than the Pharaohs of Ascension or whatever they are called. There were LOTS of others as well, and learning something else would be sweet. An exploration of ruins and nomad cultures.

I vote Rahotep, Pharaoh of Tomorrow!

I also want an Osirion AP, badly.

    And a Numeria AP.

    And a Vudra AP.

And an AP friendly to monstrous characters.

And an AP set in the midst of the Nirmathas/Molthrune conflict, with plenty of hot border crossing, dodging or participating in large scale battles, a huge overarching conflict with no real badguys and no end in sight, and possibly a genuinely evil threat lurking in the shadows. Or maybe not on that last bit. It could be an AP for those that want a really tough, dramatic experience with a real nasty conflict for them to resolve.

Come to think of it, the Molthrune side of that conflict could offer an easy way for monstrous charaters to fit right in. And if Nirmathas is equally open-minded with a different ethical slant....

I've mentioned this in another thread but I do not believe I mentioned it here. I want an AP that focuses on Aroden in some way shape or form. Whether it is:

    .

    • discovering what happened on that fateful day when the god died or
    • some holdouts that still worship him even now or
    • some undead army springs up out of nowhere animated by the power of the god's remains or
    • finding lost temples that have been abandoned or...

I think you get the idea.

    Silver Crusade

I'd really love to have a Mwangi Expanse AP that kept its focus on the Mwangi Expanse as well.

Have the PCs find some of these lost and still living Mwangi civilizations. No strong focus on colonialism and encroaching Avistani power. Just focus primarily on the Mwangi in their own element, and their own conflicts in that area.

Have Nantambu be the starting point of the AP, or have some exploration of the remnants of Shory civilization, or explore further south into Garund.

I'd love to have something akin to Crimson Throne set in the Mwangi Expanse.

+1 for sure. I think it would have the potential to be one of the most expansive and truly heroic endeavors in an AP thus far, and that's saying something. I'm always interested to learn more of the dead god and any number of factions (from the Pathfinder Society to the church of Iomedae and that's just off the top of my head) and factors could be included. Just the sheer number of possibilities makes this a must play scenario for me.

+1 for more Dwarves and orcs. Maybe a campaign (AP) by an all Dwarf party to wrest Koldukar back from the Orcs. This would heal one of the most shameful wounds to the Dwarven pysche (and be one h### of a battle at the end).

While that sounds like fun to me I don't think it's a good idea for Paizo to make an AP which only allows play of one character race.

I saw 2 more things I would like to add... so...

    1. MegaDungeon

    2. Pirates

    3. Urban Campaign

    4. Back In Time - Runelords based

    5. Back In Time - Aroden based

    6. I know it will prob never happen but Mage Academy (or guild) type one would just be my baby :)

    7. I would enjoy Vikings as well

Not really looking forward to a war based one, I would enjoy all X(race) one but my players would not (I can't hardly get the alignments close enough, let alone races).

I'd like to revise my suggestion.

    Combine Vikings with Azlant.

I don't think I've seen it mentioned here yet, but I'd like to see a mercantile based AP. Essentially where the PCs build a merchant empire, working up from one rickety cart and a sick donkey traipsing around dangerous countryside with low-volume, high-value goods and moving up from there - ending in an 'economic showdown' with the Aspis Consortium, Kalistrade-devotees of Druma (or both) for control of some key market.

I'd love this as well, if for no other reason that it might force the designers to turn the holdover 3.5 nonsensical economy into something slightly less gamist.

+1 to that. Even my weekly group takes a long time to get through them, since we play only for 4 or 5 hours at a time. We've recently started playing at my house or the GM's place for extended sessions over what we can do at the FLGS. We do seem to be making better time now. We'll see.

+2 We play 4 at least, normally 5-7 hours and we still take a long time to get through a AP. Calculating last night it's going to take us almost a year to complete the second darkness campaign. Pushing my group through RotRL about as quickly as possible and I now have to wait a year to GM again? Luckily my group said they wouldn't mind meeting a 2nd day a week to get some more gaming in :)

But choice is always good to have with what to run. My main issue is I can't play enough of the interesting PC ideas I have.

I would be thrilled to see a mega epic adventure along the lines of the old H1-H4 Bloodstone series.

Same general story line, but reworked rewritten.

I always thought this H1-H4 had excellent potential, but in that old form it was poorly done.

I would LOVE to see Paizo version of this general story line.

High Level Heroes go to depths of Hell (or Layers of Abyss) and confront/fight/ defeat(?) major Devil or Demon Lord.

    Liberty's Edge

I have a basic idea for a high level adventure path.

A person claiming to be Aroden reborn. The PCs have to try to prove or disprove that its really him.

Rahadoum, about secret religious conflicts and sects.

Absalom, I prefer urban adventures, involving Norgorber, maybe similar to the Assassin's Creed story.

    captain yesterday wrote:

SHIPS +1 Ship/Underwater adventures are so rare. It would probably also be a good idea to have an underwater combat/spellcasting rules supplement. I know the PHB has a short section, but answering questions like "what happens when you cast cone of cold underwater and the target fails their save? Do they get stuck in a block of ice and float to the surface." Etc.

In my list(s) on this thread, I forgot to mention these, so +1 to them. I, too, would like an:

    - Osirion AP

    - Vudra AP

(Again - just focused on those regions/cultures ONLY. No traveling, going elsewhere, blah blah blah. Focused!)

Pathfinder Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber; Starfinder Charter Superscriber

I, for one, do like the travel scenario, and I can digest a Tian Xia AP with travel from Avistan much better than I'd receive a "pure" Tian Xia AP.

Vudra, though, does even less for me than Tian Xia. I'd very much prefer to see something in Arcadia, or Casmaron, or maybe exploring the remnants of Azlant. I know though, that most likely the next APs will focus on the Inner Sea Region.

I'd like a real pirate/seafaring campaign, too. Maybe something sandboxy, like Kingmaker, but establishing the party as pirate kings (and queens).

The Worldwound crusade scenario sketched by Neil Spicer sure sounds interesting, too.

    Scarab Sages

I'd like to see the following:

    1. A mercantile campaign, where the players are building a trade empire. It could include dealing with pirates as well as political intrigue. And it could have the PCs traveling throughout Golarion.

    2. Interplanetary, in the spirit of the Planet Stories fiction Paizo has been publishing.

    3. Planar, with the PCs eventually ruling their own demi-plane.

    4. Osirion, with an element of time-travel into the past to witness the glories of the Pharaohs.

Actually, now that I've seen all these suggestions involving time travel, I have to admit that a time hopping "Chrono Trigger-esque" AP would be very awesome, as long as the time travel is limited to huge jumps/plot device (no "I take back the last two rounds of actions" nightmare). Basically, I'm envisioning an AP where each issue takes place in a new region/time period, with some sort of overarching plot/nemesis/villian group to tie the whole thing together.

Chrono-trigger jumps around too much. Another equally awesome game might be a better model: Timesplitters (2 or Future Perfect).

    - Getting lost/exploring the First World while trying to find a way back home.

I would like to see a "Maztica"/Conquistador style AP, something where the first book would be preparing and making the journey across the sea. They would have to deal with pirates and other types of sea hazards and this would be after the party was "commissioned" to perform the first part of the mission and making the arrangements for the trip such as funding and employing the proper shipwrights etc etc. Then subsequent books would be how certain Nations follow behind the party and exploit the new found lands.

So this would envelope a lot of what different people would enjoy and in a sandbox style adventure.

I think this sounds like fun. The colonization of Arcadia begins!

What I would really like to see is a gritty story focusing on the contrast between Andoran and Galt. Mass executions, intrigue, spying, researching historical documents about the respective revolutions to answer current riddles, treachery, with fair bits of horror thrown in for good measure, revenge, Milori... Even if the PCs never manage to affect any real change in the countries involved, this is the story that stuck with me since the Campaign Setting.

If I have to choose among the other suggestions, though, I agree with the people saying that pirates have been done already. Thus: NINJAS!!!

Numeria and the Worldwound seem popular (with me too!)... how about splitting an AP between the two. Demons from the Worldwound steal something (alien tech, lifeform) from the Silver Mount in Numeria and race to get it back to Iz to turn the tide of war against the Mendevian Crusaders.

    AP1 - PCs stumble upon a plot by certain members of Technic League to give a foreign power something from the Silver Mount - at this stage no mention of demons;

    AP2 - PCs first encounter demons and their agents in Numeria as they get a little carried away being all Chaotic Evil in their new surroundings;

    AP3 - PCs discover true intention of demons previously encountered and try to convince authorities of what is going on but ultimately have to try to stop it themselves including various encounters in parts of the Silver Mount that have broken off the main structure. At the climax PCs learn that the demons intend to use whatever they were after against the Mendevian Crusaders to turn the tide of the war;

    AP4 - PCs race to Mendev to warn them of the new threat, and there must deal with low templars and zealous crusaders, as well as demonic agents who are trying to undermine the war effort from within;

    AP5 - PCs sent into the Worldwound with a small detachment of Crusaders to try and sneak into the demons' stronghold and stop their plan before it starts - by this point it should be very obvious that the demons are uncharacteristically ordered and their plan seems both carefully structured and subtle, quite unlike most demons;

AP6 - PCs deep in demon territory find that the plan had not been the demons' but all along they had been controlled by the intelligent thing they stole from Numeria that (whether by design or malfunction) exerts a mechanical control over certain types of Outsider. Final battle against this item/creature and demonic/tech minions.

    Or something :p

Something like Kingdom Hearts would be cool, but using planes instead of time travel.

The most wanted one for me right now is an AP that's 100% urban. No jumping to countryside and back, no planar shifts... Just pure city. Absalom would be nice but any other bigger city would do.

Megadungeon sounds great too - my players love dungeons like nothing else for some reason... And I would love to see what Paizo would come up with!

AP set in Tian Xia FROM THE BEGINNING and all the way through would be also great at some point but I will be happy with Jade Regent for some time ;)

I would love a sequel to the RotR AP sooner than another oriental adventure. A different Runelord or possibly the already mentioned possibility of going back to time just before their fall.

Also, NIDAL sounds like a fun place to visit!

And I know I am quite alone on this one, but - Pirates? Seriously? Meh! Who cares? I mean wenches are nice and all but pirates are not that great IMO ;P Vikings all the way! Snow, bear fights, sleeping in heaps of fur and still freezing... - winter themed adventure here I come!

I'm with you on this. Pirates are of no interest to me whatsoever. Fortunately for everyone else, the APs are for everyone instead of just me so I'm sure they'll do it eventually. Besides, they got me with Carrion Crown.

Now a far north/ winter AP...that appeals to me a lot.

This was an issue for some people in CotCT, with many of the responses being 'Why would I leave when there's so many wrongs to right?' and 'Why do I care what happens in the Ash Wastes?'.

I think the reason you see the PCs leave their starting base so often, is that the writers feel forced to take the action elsewhere, for the sake of verisimilitude.
If the overwhelming evil cult/mad wizard/thing that must not be named has always been residing a few blocks from the PCs' local tavern, it becomes difficult to justify why it hasn't squashed them like bugs when they first started interfering.

If the BBEG doesn't act, for fear of the local authorities, then the public doesn't need the PCs. If the authorities can't handle the BBEG, then why hasn't the BBEG's plan already been fulfilled?

There's a similar trope in superhero stories, especially team books like JLA, where the writers have to regularly send Superman, Green Lantern, and all the other epic characters off into space, so Batman and Green Arrow have something to do.

I'd like to see something a little different.

The framework history of the Shory flying cities has struck me as interesting. I'd like to see something where fledgeling adventurers somehow end up inhabiting the bodies of common slaves in ancient Mwangi. Early parts of the adventure would involve obtaining sufficient resources to actually make use of their class abilities (ie. weapons, holy symbols, spell books) and generally surviving to escape.

From there, the adventurers would start to investigate their condition, coming to learn why they're stuck mentally embedded in the past. They need to move up through society to gain mobility and access to learn who or what's behind their imprisonment.

Ideally they're where they are because they've been summoned by someone or something. In theory they are asked to do something important, which is difficult. The reward should they succeed is freedom to return to their own bodies and time.

This adventure would start on the ground, and ultimately involve infiltrating and exploring various locations on one or more flying city.

Just a thought. Stepping out of the current timeline would be a refreshing change, and the Shory backstory hasn't been heavily explored. Seen one runelord, you've seen 'em all.

There are several APs that I'd love to see.

Planewalking - I'd love to see an AP that focused on the planes. Something that got the characters to the planes early and often. Maybe something harking back to the old Planescape setting.

Pirates - I know Savage Tides wasn't that long ago, but pirates are always good. Or maybe throw in air ships, Air Pirates!

War - I good gritty war campaign would be great. The PCs join or are conscripted into the army or a nation going to war. They slowly work their way through the ranks, and maybe by the end up running the war.

Azlant - What I'd really like to see is a (crazy) time travel adventure back to Azlant during it's heyday. Maybe the party is sent back to locate someone/something, maybe they need some information that's been destroyed in the present but exists in the past, or may they need someone(s) of pure Azlanti blood and come back with survivors. I think a mad romp through ancient Azlant would be a lot of fun.

I would also love a pirate-themed AP - I've actually been contemplating a campaign using some of the Freeport stuff and pirate adventure from Dungeon #16 (Vesicant) set in the Shackles. Rules for ship-to-ship combat would be awesome as well as travel through the Eye of Abendego. With all the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (#4 upcoming in May), it seems like a slam dunk (though I also know that Paizo has tried to steer away from cliched and overdone themes).

Something I'd like to see in an AP. A rival group. You know like the Linear Guild to the Order of the Stick.

    Just spitballing.

4713, Baba Yaga comes to collect Queen Elvanna and the first generation jadwiga Elvanna.

Time for the Heralds of Summers Return and the Linnorm Kings to unite and strike!

    AP: Vikings versus Witches!

I'd love to see an AP that totally screws with the typical 1-15ish level range for the purpose of telling a different kind of story (and not just the gimick itself). Like having the first four adventures all be level 1 to 4 with different groups of characters in each one. Then have the fifth and sixth adventures tie all the plot threads together from the first four adventures with cool plot twists, character on character fighting, etc. At the end of it the remaining members of all the groups are in the level 8 range.

Lots of great ideas, keep them coming!

    Here's my modest contribution:

Why not make an AP revolve around a bastion of good (Mendev or Lastwall spontaneously come to mind) and have the PCs play an important part in the discovery, and later eradication, of a growing menace?

    - It would allow some urban adventures to uncover plots to weaken the city/nation.

    - Some sandbox approach can easily be added with the exploration/scouting of nearby "suspicious" locations linked (or not) to the aforementioned evil. Some players just love to take matters into their own hands and be proactive. What's more, playing an inquisitor or a cavalier would really make sense in such a context.

    - The menace itself would loom over the city and periodically erupt, for example at the end of every volume, under a different form.

    - It can be combined with the war-themed campaign that seem to appeal to many in this thread: one whole volume, towards the end, could completely revolve around it.

But I guess the most important thing would be to give the players a real reason to fight for (their devotion to the city / family / love / assets / etc.) Adding some adventures to tie the PCs to their home city would really help do that, I think.
