AP's I would love to see. Just some quick notes.

A Galt Revolution one. Lots of intrigue and sandbox style play.

One set in Numeria. Tundarr style Super Science would be a change of pace.

A war between the big 5 in the inner sea. A war they keep hinting at would be interesting to see.

An AP only for Evil Characters.

PLEASE!! NO TIME TRAVEL APS!!, i hate time travel stories (except quantum leap and back to the future).

i vote (again) for pirates with ships, unexplored islands. also an urban campaign set in kaer maga or kalsgard (vikings and urban!). or maybe something involving hermea. also sign me up for a super awesome mega-dungeon (i don't know how many of my characters died in undermountain)

More ideas:

1) Evil AP: Playing evil characters in an AP, with guidelines on how it would realistically be done. Don't make it like a good AP (with a evil veneer), have objectives that could only be done in an evil AP.

2) Solo character AP: Solo character AP for a class, maybe a rogue.

3) High level AP: Most APs end at level 16. It might be cool if an AP started at level 14 and went to level 20. It wouldn't necessarily be a 6 book AP, maybe even 3-4 books to tell the story would be fine. There would be lots of opportunity for Paizo to write articles on how to run high level games as well. In addition, high level PF would be tested a lot more which might help down the road.

APs I want to play/gm:

1) The Mendev/Worldwound 'war' campaign described in various places on the boards would be great - demons, celestials, a multi-ethnic and multi-faction crusade, spies, inquisitions, false prophets, betrayals, apocalyptic landscapes, 'special ops' tactical missions, and mass battles galore. How could this possibly be anything but awesome? I'd love to see it tied in with Steel Wind's 'Tome of Thrones' hardcover.

2) A Geb/Nex/Absalom AP that directly involves the Pathfinder society, who have discovered that Nex was the only man with the knowledge/artifact/other mcguffin to prevent some grave threat from wrecking house across golarion. The PCs must find this mcguffin, and to do so go on a quest heavy in investigation, scholarly politics, puzzle-solving, dungeon-crawling, and a bit of planar travel. I could see crypts in Geb, mage academies in Quantium, dusty libraries of Absalom, siege castles around the city, and mysterious pocket planes all coming into play here... Maybe this is a way to couch the Spire of Nex that Erik has mentioned recently?

3) Arcadia - A new world campaign that could support either/both native and colonial characters. Avistan nations jockey for power with one another and come into conflict with native peoples. Hateful forces on both sides seek the complete annihilation of the other, and seek to unleash some local supernatural phenomenon to accomplish this goal. The PCs have to work to prevent the carnage and establish some mutually acceptable detente between the powers of Arcadia. Politics, mini-quests, skirmishes, wilderness exploration, new peoples, types of magic, and crazy, native american-inspired monsters. Sweet.

4) Rise of the Runelords hardcover - brought back as fully Pathfinderized AP, and expanded and embellished to become the first Paizo release to take PCs all the way from levels 1 to 20.

These are my AP dreams.

5 Kings Mountain/Darklands crossover.

If there isn't a Geb/Nex based one then that would be a runner up.

Grand Lodge

Expedition to reclaim or explore one of the dwarven Sky Citadels would be awesome.

Madclaw wrote:

yes! 1 vote for this one, also i vote for pirates (but not in the same one:)

Silver Crusade

I vote for a mega dungeon. I do not think there has been enough dungeoneering stuff. Too much politics, intrigue, and the like.

I want good old fashioned Dungeons to explore, and Dragons to kill!

PIRATES! ARRRRRRR

Ships, Weather, Trade, Privateering, Ship/Ship combat, maybe a bit under the water (but not tooo much)

Pirates against vikings. Both sides secretely being manipulated by ninjas.

Seriuosly though:
Numeria
Sword & Planet
Osirion

Grand Lodge

I would love to see an AP centered around the pathfinder society. from becoming a pathfinder in the first installment to being big shot movers and shakers in the society by the end. PFS is great, but the story and rp that are available in an AP would be awesome. I hope we get to see it some day and sooner than later.

Technically, I already answered this in a thread with a Very Similar Name.

As for an AP I would like to see in the future ...

How about one where the player characters must become part of a "Five Year Mission ...
... To explore strange new worlds...
... To seek out new life and new civilisations...
... To boldly go where no man has gone before!"

1) high lvl 15-20 or somthing
2) Somthing like City of the spider queen, where the payers can play drow.
3)Somthing focused on a race other than humans

4)somthing with Arodens death.....somthing epic!

"Fascinating."

The PC's are hired by a high ranking priest of Cayden Cailean to infiltrate a hellish fortress of a newly risen Hellknight Order in Cheliax and prevent them from trying to attach Thais's severed lost wing to their Lictor and gain a measure of Cayden's divine power. What will the PC's do however when they discover the Hellknights have not just Thais's lost wing but Thais herself; held captive and to be sacrificed to Asmodeus?

The PC's are hired by the aasimar paladin mayor of a recently newly built settlement in Kyonin to venture with him into a recently uncovered ancient wild elf portal to the Mwangi Expanse to rescue his half-elven love from Bekyar determined to sacrifice her to their ape god. However they must also deal with the machinations of the true instigators of the villainous plot; the nefarious Winter Counsel!

The PC's wake up one morning to find themselves (along with their possessions) transported to a vast abandoned stone ruin jutting out from the sea and surrounded on all sides by the ocean. With perpetual grey storm clouds blocking the sun and stars and a terrifying tentacled horror in the ocean outside attempting to hunt the stranded PC's inside the ruin, can the heroes discover how they got here and more importantly, how to escape?

The PC's arrive in Galt to find a city in chaos and the ghost of a long dead king roaming the streets at night with a cadre of powerful undead at his side. Unable to stop this madness the Grey Wardens turn to the PC's for help but is this horror the results of the people of Galt finally taking their impatience and anger too far? Why does the ghost king cry out for vengeance and retribution?

I'd definitely like to see that as well. I've got 1 character concept for a homebrew campaign where a Qadiran merchant's son wants to join the Pathfinder Society.

I'd like to see an elven campaign that explores the First World and the elven immigration outside of Golarion all those millenia ago.

Or a dwarven-centric campaign to explore the ancient homes of the dwarves.

I feel those two races are rather interesting, but haven't gotten too much focus in APs thus far (although you could argue elves have had some focus in Second Darkness).

Liberty's Edge

I wouldn't mind seeing a mini-AP detailing the trials and tribulations of taking the Test of the Starstone. It could be geared towards 17th-ish level characters, and written to be used at the end of any other AP. I think that'd be quite handy.

I'd love a Numeria AP with an "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks" feel. I know I'm probably in the minority there, but oh well.

Also, a proper Osirion AP with mummies, tombs, temples, and pyramids would be to die for. I know we have some J-series modules but I'd love more. My favorite module from AD&D was "Pharoah" -- still cherish my Hickman-signed copy.

I'm for the mega-dungeon because A) I like them in general and B) It defines a world to have one (Greyhawk and Blackmoor, for example, are NAMED for their dungeons, while the Realms is set apart by how different Undermountain and Myth Drannor are in approach from Greyhawk and Blackmoor). While World's Largest Dungeon was just a Brobdignagian mess like an even more outsize Tegel Manor, more of a stunt than a dungeon, it was an attempt to get on that same map. It seems unlike Paizo to DO a mega-dungeon, but maybe a complete left turn would be just the Adventure Path apart.

I always liked the idea of a Pompei-style adventure in which a volcanic island is going to blow but the party is going in as everyone from the outlying town is streaming away in ships under salvos of ash. There's an interesting greed vs ethics struggle to play on in several directions assuming there are enough ships to carry the island's human inhabitants to safety; they'd all want to take their belongings so that any capacity the party had could get swamped in carrying what people WANT you to rescue of theirs vs what you would try to loot from the dungeon above the town in its final day(s). And once you make the decision to at least SEE what's in that dungeon before it's lost for all time the ethical questions get weirder; factions of dungeon residents start getting more alarmed as they figure out what's going on outside when there's no rescue plan for them than they are by a raiding party of adventurers. In a mega-dungeon there's too much loot to carry off in one trip so it becomes a matter of picking what to take and what to leave, even as dungeon critters start to defect and act as porters to increase the party's haulage. Keeping your word and rescuing them means giving up wealth you can actually see and put your hands on. How much is your word worth, what is the value of sentimental value placed by your fellow humans appalled that you're there for anything else, and how much are humanoid lives worth ... all rolled into one big countdown clock in which greed can make all of the questions moot. That seems like a cool mega-dungeon because the bigger it is the harder, and more telling, your choices are so that players who've done it can sum themselves up to others in short order by what they came away with (making an "...and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!" t-shirt great convention merch :-)

Sovereign Court

Would love to see a full on Barbarian style AP, with a focus on nature, the wilds, Barbarian tribes and Conanesque adventures.

The return of Baba Yaga to collect Elvanna and the rest of the jadwiga Elvanna.

Witches versus vikings. 'Nuff said.

Just out of curiosity, I just went through this thread and counted all the various nominations. And there's some interesting results.

5 or Less: 26 (various topics)

6 to 10 nominations: 7 (various topics)

All of those cover a pretty wide range of topics, but beyond those that got more than 10 nominations, we have the following:

Linnorm Kings: 19 nominations

Worldwound vs. Mendev: 15 nominations

Runelords/Varisia: 11 nominations

Planet Hopping: 13 nominations

Megadungeon: 18 nominations

Numeria: 16 nominations

Total War: 13 nominations

Political/Mercantile Intrigue: 13 nominations

And the overwhelming winner?

Pirates: 38 nominations

Now, of course, I have a VERY good idea of where we're going for the next six or so adventure paths, and while they're still subject to change, I can say this—a lot of folks are going to be pretty happy over the next few years. And some folks are going to be kinda disappointed.

(One AP topic that five folks nominated was an Aroden-focused Adventure Path. I can tell you right now, this is one we'll probably never do. We like keeping Aroden's fate and all that a secret!)

so is that a yes on pirates?. i ask cause i care:)

James,

Out of selfish curiousity, when doing your tabulation did you consider Irrisen based adventures to be Linnorm APs?

I see them as inter-related, but I can appreciate that not everyone else would.

Thanks!

EDIT: If nothing else that would mitigate my expectations appropriately ;)

Irrisen and the Linnorm Kingdoms are pretty intertwined—they're more or less at war, in fact, so an AP set in one would probably have to acknowledge the other in some way. But no, my tabulations did keep Irrisen and Linnorm Kingdoms as separate entries—Irrisen itself got 9 nominations overall.

In any case, while Jade Regent isn't set TOTALLY in the Linnorm Kingdoms, its second adventure is. Also, we've got a Linnorm Kingdom book coming out soon as well. It'll be interesting to see if those whet the appetite for vikings or not.

Late to the party but I would love to see some more Planar adventures. The 4th(5th?) book in Legacy of Fire was great. Planet hopping would be a blast as well. These wouldn't have to be entire APs though, just a book here or there in another plane.

I for one would not be too thrilled to see a pirate adventure, but if anyone could do it well it would be Paizo, so wont be too upset to see it. As for my vote, i would say Rahadoum would be a nice place to see more fleshed out, as would Thuvia. Maybe you could have the PC's hunting down the thieves of the elixir and have to venture into godless Rahadoum to recover it.

While "Planescape" is WotC IP, the aligned planes and the planes in general are not. The specific names for the planes are, but Paizo has their own. Even has a major city in one of them (Axis).

The outer plane of Axis IS a city. One I plane on using someday.

Dark Archive

Put me down as another +1 for both Numeria and The Worldwound.

I would also like to see an AP involving the cold war between Geb and Nex turning hot. Maybe something involving the Shory, or an enclave of Azlanti stumbling into modern Golarion.

Any chance of APs that are centered around certain event chains in the past? For example, I'd love to see a goblinblood war adventure path in Isger. We know that there were some strange bedfellows involved in allying against the goblins etc and it's never been laid out in detail what happened. Seems like plenty of room to work with without danger of altering the timeline.

I didn`t think Geb and Nex were still having a `Cold War`.
More like England and France, with age-old rivalries,
but they`ve getting along more or less OK for some time now AFAIK.

I was with watcher, in that I was wondering the same thing. I do hope we get a AP for those two in the future. Oh the two books the AP and Linnorm Kingdoms book will help but I want more.

Of course I also want to see a slavic based country developed as well. I imagine it would just be off the edge of the Inner Sea Map like Old Iobaria just next to Brevoy.

As soon as I read "vikings vs. witches," I got a shiver down my spine. I can't express to you enough how much that idea appeals to my sensibilities! For the love of all that's holy, do this!

I have an idea in mind for a pirate campaign of my very own, which includes all kinds of sand-boxiness, but with a definitive story interwoven wherever the PC's go. Also, my intent is to do a great deal of roleplaying, which is why I and my players are going to create every pirate on the boat and give them motivations and in-depth personality.

That said, I would adore a pirate AP by Paizo, as well. Something I could feasibly incorporate into my own, or at least get more stuff out of! Or, if it's that good, just run TWO pirate games!

Thirdly, I believe a crusade AP to the Worldwound would be absolutely phenomenal! I would have to find someone else to DM that one, perhaps, so that I could play a cavalier in it, since that has become one of my favorite classes these days. Sign me up for that one as well!

If you were going to go megadungeon (which I could take or leave), I would ask that you give it some dwarven love. It saddens me that so many people neglect those poor, stout fellows. C'mon, Paizo, give us an AP that puts that race to the forefront! (Though, obviously, doesn't require the whole party to play them, as that just wouldn't be a smart move, but they already know that ;) )
