Cancelled my Amazon preorders

After reaching a high level of annoyance with how late Amazon was shipping Pathfinder products I have canceled my preorders of the Inner Sea World Guide and Ultimate Magic and instead purchased them here, with a subscription to the Game line.

It's a really good feeling to know I will get the books as soon as possible. It just sucks that I am going to pay a little more for it. (Especially with my Amazon Prime shipping)

Amazon is great for buying a second (or third. or fourth...) copy of something but it is no good for getting your hands on stuff early.

Plus, as a subscriber you get a free PDF which pretty much offsets the shipping difference.

Amazon has lower prices but has let me down in the past on delivery - even telling me an item had shipped before saying it was out of stock and asking me to reorder it. Buying through Paizo costs me more, with postage to the UK on top as well, but guaranteeing getting the product plus scoring the free pdf is worth it.

I'm a latecomer to Pathfinder, so I used amazon to cheaply catch up on all of the books that I wanted that I had missed. For the stuff as it's released? I go through Paizo.

The pdf was something I was aware of. Amazon is selling the Inner Sea World Guide at 31.49 with no shipping cost to me, so I pay for the pdf (assuming 9.99) and its 41.48. Where my bill with Paizo after shipping is $57.36. Is there a Paizo Prime?

Also on the Halflings of Golarion I got a total of six emails from Amazon telling me the order had been delayed, bouncing between holder dates and the actual date. I'm glad to get that out of my inbox as well.

Our closest equivalent is the Pathfinder Advantage, which gives subscribers to our cornerstore Adventure Path line 15% off of pretty much everything in the store except non-Paizo electronic products. So if you were an AP subscriber, you could buy the Inner Sea World Guide for $42.49, and if you were also a Campaign Setting subscriber, you'd get the PDF for free when your World Guide shipped. You'd still have to pay shipping, but you can combine subscriptions shipments together, and even have non-subscription products ship with your subscriptions to save on shipping wherever possible.

Ah I get it now, clever.

If I subscribed to the AP now, would that discount be applied to the world guide?

From what I recall, the discount doesn't apply until the AP ships. I've been holding off on ordering a few things because of that.

It doesn't take effect until the first AP ships, but everything included in the first AP counts. So if you set the shipping on the world guide to be 'with my next AP' it should count
