I recently submitted a summary and am wondering how long it should take for a response. The last time I submitted something, it took 8 months to get a "no thank you". The open call page says to wait 72 hours before resubmitting, but it doesn't seem like that's a reasonable thing to do (resubmitting every 72 hours if it takes a month to get through an already full inbox). Thank you.

At this point, reading through the slush pile is the lowest priority on an overflowing todo list. I'll get to them, but probably not anytime soon. Patience is appreciated, and one way to ensure you're not selected to write a scenario is to flood the submissions inbox every few days. I'll look into changing the resubmit text on the submissions page.

One reason it's low on the priority list is because we're working on getting all the summer releases assigned, written, developed, and ready to go. So even if I found a submission I wanted to publish now, I wouldn't be able to actually assign it for several months. As much as I want to give new authors a chance to get their foot in the door, writing a scenario for PaizoCon or GenCon isn't where I want to put an untested designer. When I get closer to outlining and assigning scenarios for September and October the priority of this line item will move up the to-do list.
Thanks for the patience, and by no means should people stop submitting pitches. I'll get to them all eventually.

Thank you for explaining why it's a low priority right now.
It seems like we can take the time to test our ideas before we submit them.

Feel free to send as many as you want. They'll get added to the stack in the order they're received and I'll get to them when I get to them. I likely wouldn't assign two to the same person in the same batch, but multiple submissions certainly increases that chances one will work for what we need, and seeing more samples of an authors' writing never hurts when deciding to give him or her work.
