I've got a job possibility that would be amazing for me, and my partner does too. Either one would be a huge help for us right now.

Best of luck!

Good luck, ch! Will send positive waves as soon as I get out of work.

Good Afternoon,

It has been decided that the e-mail sent to [group of clients] who have not yet submitted required data for 2010 testing or prior will no longer be sent. The email was scheduled to go out on January 23,2012. This email was deemed unnecessary and will be removed from the [redacted] Calendar and will not be included on any testing calendar going forward. Should you have any questions regarding this removal please contact [redacted].

Emphases mine.

That email made my skin crawl. It's a perfect example of passive voice being used to avoid making anybody responsible for anything.

Thanks for the good wishes, all!

We've been in a rather precarious situation with only me working and not making very much money. Either the new job I'm after (which pays much better) or my partner finding something will make a huge difference.

Mmmmm...steak.

However, someone (*cough*Wife*cough*) forgot that she had unplugged the toaster oven yesterday, so I have to wait for my fries.

They made that first sentence almost incomprehensible.

Silver Crusade

The opening "it has been decided" is what really set me off. Decisions don't just happen by themselves (unless you are in government); people make them. I don't even care about the stupid email that isn't being sent out, nor do I think there is anybody who would miss it, but this email reads like the sender has something to hide. It conjures the image of some shadowy cabal deciding which mass communications we are going to send our clients.

Wait, what happened?

Could be worse. I'm the guy that all the hipsters base their culture commentary on. Only I'm taking it seriously.

I don't have a beef with hipsters. Those neighborhoods have the best restaurants.

Is that in reference to my post? The actual content of those emails was inconsequential to me, I was just poking fun at some dreadfully bad email writing. I should teach a class.

I am so pissed off right now. My Paladin just got openly betrayed by the other members of the party. They handed her over to Iomedan Burners who wanted to roast her for being a Tiefling (They thought that she was lying when she truthfully said she was in fact a Paladin of Shelyn and not Evil in any way, shape, or form, and saw her demon blood as a threat to be purged with fire.) in exchange for a bunch of magic items.

Why does every tabletop group I play with have asshats in it?

Just finished a coding exercise for an interview for a job at Amazon's newly opening Toronto development center.

Assuming I pass that, it looks like I'll be flying to Seattle for an onsite interview, since the Toronto office isn't actually opened yet.

I could tell you a story of betrayal that would curl your hair... or straighten it. Suffice to say, a player used his character to derail an entire several year long campaign, leaving the GM with no 'honest to the story' way to prevent what basically amounted to the destruction of the prime material plane*. There is an incredibly complex background to that story that I won't share on open forums, but I let bits of it slip from time to time.

*Yeah, it was an epic level ascension campaign.

I warn you I know Ekky Thump.......

I have a feeling I might regret asking, but.....Ekky Thump?

Yes... Yes you will regret asking.

The Goodies ran from the 1970's to the mid 1980's. The comedians involved wrote for the Pythons.

Ekky Thump is an ancient Lancastrian martial art involving the use of a Black Pudding as a weapon.

Now some warnings re the clips I am going to show:-

First it is from the 1970's
Second being from the 1970's it is politically incorrect and uses black face.
Finally this episode killed a man see viewer death below Link to short clip.

Viewer death

The episode is infamous for the documented example of a man laughing to death. 50 year old Alex Mitchell could not stop laughing for a continuous 25 minute period - almost the entire length of the show - and suffered a fatal heart attack as a result of the strain placed on his heart. His widow later sent the Goodies a letter thanking them for making Mitchell's final moments so pleasant.

I cant speak for the rest but Boudin is a slice of heaven.

Why kick stray dogs? Dogs and puppies are lovable and friendly. Surely you can come up with something better to kick. I know I could.....
