Freehold, you must be in your glory right now. The Facebook IPO was a debacle, their latest figures show that their growth in North America has stagnated, and you have f-mail to rub in their face every time they get cocky. I guess sacrificing those chickens worked.
I was going to run it in everyone's faces actually, but I've lived in ny for a long time and I know a bad start for a new stock is just that- a bad start. I was going to start crowing about it next week or so.

I wouldn't touch that stock, myself. If people think they got hit on the IPO, just wait until Facebook's customers move on to the NextBestThing{TM}. It's only a matter of time.

I dunno. That all depends on how Zuckerberg goes about solidifying and adding things to facebook. Putting my haterade(tm) to the side for a moment, the Internet is slowly growing out of being the wild west and hard lines are being drawn. I doubt I could make my own version of facebook nowadays and not be sued. Provided Zuckerberg keeps copyrighting everything he adds to the site (or however it works), social media will continue to be facebook and it's twitter add on for years to come.

Meh. I think mew technologies will bring new ways to interface. The Computer Spex revolution is just around the corner. Who knows what kind of social networking site will be built to capitalize on these technologies: Skinning reality with custom UI's, Tagging sites with information or logs of visiting, etc. etc.

I'd be great with this... provided it doesn't require me signing up to some social networking site. If so I'll live without.

Like the things that unfortunately replaced the matrix in shadowrun? I doubt it. I do hope you that facebooks slow obnoxious takeover of the Internet ends.

Alright you so-and-sos. I'm doing it. I've got my tickets for the avengers in 3d tomorrow with the wife at 10:15 AM. Matinee price, 10 bucks a ticket. I will post my review of the film here and only here, although I will probably talk about the movie in the avengers thread. I promise to give the movie a chance and be fair. Even if it sucks half as much as I think it will, I'm going to the compleat strategist tomorrow to pick up the gamemastery buff card deck.

It's a little late, but it's finally happening. I will be going over the movie with a fine toothed comb, as I am a comic book fan, although I admit now that the Avengers are not my forte(I started liking the team relatively recently- about 2004-2005 or so, and I lost them when they did Civil War, a great idea poorly implemented).

Also, good news CH and Aeglos, wife is in for July 3rd evening!!!! I work until 6:30 pm that evening(I will do what I can to switch to 4:30 pm, but I don't think that's going to work, knowing my dumbass of a boss), but I am free the rest of the evening, and the days are going to be even longer than they are now. Maybe we can meet up at about 7:30 pm in Chinatown or someplace like that?

I can do shadow puppet theater. Without using my hands.

I might be seeing it this weekend, too.
And I just went to Compleat Strategist a week ago and spent too much money...

My partner is still in question. His mother might be in town, so he may be occupied.

Morning all,
Our pick up game last night devolved into reminiscing about our campus days..... It probably bored the crap out of poor old Mothman as he went to a different Uni.
We did confirm that we would finish our CotCT campaign as it has been on pause for the last four months due to real life. We have found the big bad and it is half way through destroying us.
When we finish CotCT we are starting Carrion Crown and I am thinking of playing a gunslinger based on a English Highwayman more Plunket and McLean and less Adam Ant.

The Yaohnanen believe that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburg, the consort to Queen Elizabeth II, is a divine being; the pale-skinned son of a mountain spirit and brother of John Frum. According to ancient tales, the son travelled over the seas to a distant land, married a powerful lady and would in time return. The villagers had observed the respect accorded to Queen Elizabeth II by colonial officials and concluded that her husband, Prince Philip, must be the son from their legends.

we have been to a "pick your own" strawberry field and picked 12pounds of strawberries.
then we made 6 pounds into strawberry jam, the rest we mashed and deep fried, a few we made to strawbery ice-cubes and left enoigh for strawberry milk shake for the evening
the kitchen looks like a especially gory battlefield now :-)

Heathen.
And recipe?
Ditto.
My mother owns a strawberry farm and I'd love to be able to pass that along to her.
And I'll give deep fried anything a try. ;)
ups, I guess I stumbled over the English language there :-)
deep frozen not deep friedwe mashed them, sugared them and froze them, the trick is: strawberry jam gets grey over time, the mashed mass stays red and we can make fresh jam in a few month (and we can use them with champagne, with vodka or to make strawberry milkshakes

Now there is an interesting tidbit. If that showed up in a novel, I would never believe it. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction...

Would they then be like macerated strawberries? That is what my mother always did with the extras. Makes delicious desserts.
Add a bunch of sugar to the strawberries, let them sit to draw out the juices, and then they can be frozen...

Oh, okay. You had me intrigued by the thought of my favorite fruit being combined with my favorite cooking method. ;)
