No parent is perfect, but love and effort cover a multitude of sins, if you will. I made some very bad decisions, but my daughter always knew I loved her even when I screwed up. I'm very proud of the women, wife, and mom she has grown up to be.

Your daughter has become more than one woman? Why didn't you tell me she had mutant powers?!?!? That's AWESOME!!!!!!

Us girls got hit on by random dudes at the bar last night. :P

Going to try to get the kids to rest before we head out to the park. Talk to you guys later.

FHDM, I hope things got better for you. (((hugs)))

Thank you Solnes and everyone for your thoughts and concern. Things have improved a bit, but not enough. The air has been cleared a bit, but I'm still more than a little miffed about some topics she brought up. I'm trying to figure some things out still, as this really isn't over yet.

Tonight's game got cancelled, so I have the whole day off. Got my Broken Moon PDF last night. The yard work was finished before yesterday's rain started, so no guilt there. Not as achy as expected after the wreck yesterday. Now, if the puffin will just feel better, today is shaping up to be a good day. Maybe we'll go in to work to do some cleanup and bookkeeping for fun.

EDIT: Nope - upon rousing the puffin from his nightly roost, found he's feverish. So he gets to sleep in and try to let his body kick this thing. I'll play maid and nurse (possibly naughty) today. :-)

I didn't say anything about Aes Sedai. :P

Sorry. Thought you were responding to my post about trusting the Aes Sedai who have made an art of partial truths and deception.

Guess I've been living under a rock for too long. I never knew that Duran Duran did a cover of White Lines

I will always prefer this version White Lines - Grandmaster Flash. I first experienced it my freshman year at college (the song not the powder).

No it's not.

:D:D:D My wife started the day by waking up without the alarm rushing to take her shower to go to work, waking my youngest up so he can get ready for school, only to have a knock on the bathroom door and my youngest asking her, "Hey, Rae wasn't yesterday Friday?" :D:D:D

I was still in bed.

Did she come back to bed smelling all purty? Or was that ruined by the kids being awake? ;P
She came back to the bed smelly nice. then she snuggled with her Yoda pillow.
You got hosed... Marriage after kids....
I did not tell my first wife to cheat on me, move in with another man and then decide she was a man in a womans body.

....and I thought my ex's were screwed up! Damn!

Thanks. It's very distressing. One minute you're Paul McCartney circa 1965, the next you're an extra in an 80's hair metal video. *shudders* If I were American I'd sue my barber.

But enough grouching and unfair stereotyping, time to go vote.

It never is. Communication is key. By communicating, you reconnect, and then it makes it much easier to work things out. I know from experience, I have gone through this cycle SO many times. Fortunately, my wife has the patience of a saint and allows me to relearn over and over again.

Being connected to your partner I think is the single most important thing to maintain a healthy relationship. But with all of the distractions of real and virtual life, it is also very difficult to keep up.

Good luck!

Hurray! my son and I were able to connect using d20pro (thanks Paris for broadcasting the special loot deal on the software.) Now we can play some PFS games while he is in summer school in Minnesota. More gaming - huzzah!

Why do they call it Final Fantasy ... when there are 13 consecutive versions of the game?

Bummer for the rain, Patrick. We seem to be drying out, although we have only partial sun.

When Square first created the series back in the 80's, their company was going to go bust. For them, it literally would be their final fantasy unless the game was successful. Luckily for them, it was. So it started tongue in cheek.

It was planned to be the designers last attempt to make a profit I think. If he couldn't do it, he'd stop making games. But it was incredibly successful and a legend was born.
