R.I.P Günther Kaufmann

we lost a great guy and actor today, he died of a heart attack walking down the street at the age of 67.
In the 70s he played in many Rainer Werner Fassbinder movies, his most famous later role was 3 years ago "Sven the Terrible" in the live-action adoptation of "Wickie der Wickinger" a 70s japanese-german cartoon based on a swedish book series (Vike Viking)
here is a pic yup, it's a black guy playing a viking with horned helmet

but he is most famous for a incident 10 years ago, his (now deceased)wife comited fraud and later hired someone to kill her partner in crime, Kaufmann made a false testemony and went to jail to protect his wife (who was suvering from cancer)
he spend 2 years in prison, i think, before the truth came out somehow and it turned out he was innocent

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Saturday! Looks to be another beautiful weather day here in Philly - highs in the 70s with plenty of sunshine!

What I took from that:

They did a live adaptation of Vicke Viking!!?

Also, today is my anniversary. The missus and I have been married for 5 years now!
Sadly, we are both fighting colds at the moment, and I think Charie has caught it as well.

And, irony of ironies - my wife is the one who kind of forgot this year. I gave her gifts this morning, but she had nothing to give in return. Oh well.

Welcome back T8D! I'm not certain what happened, but I am glad you have decided to come back.

Alas, I must now depart from the boards and do my many chores!

*blink*

Oh yeah! Happy Anniversary Zombeh! Your wife forgot? Oh that's the best present a man could get! That's like a get out of jail free card! =D

Thank you. And yeah, I guess it's kind of a good thing. God only knows what kind of crappy gift I'd have gotten if she hadn't forgotten.

Congratulations- remembering your anniversery makes you the romantic partner!

Speaking of gifts, this being the 5 year "wood" anniversary, I got my wife:

- a nicely made wooden recipe box, complete with recipe cards and dividers. She's always righting down recipes on scrapes of paper and leaving them lying around, so I thought a way to organize them would be nice.

- a carved wooden "statue" kind of like a pointed-headed Easter Island head. It's made for putting your glasses on at night. She's always just setting them on a shelf and then trying to find them.

Sabine is visiting her mum over the weekend,

I had dinner at my dad's:
my favorite dish Grüne Soße
and after that my favorite Schnaps: Basaltfeuer, a 56% hard liquior from the Westerwald

maybe I bring a jug to paizocon

by the way, wording differences:
german "Schnaps" = american "hard Liquor"
american "Schnapps" = german "Likör"

Go Sävehof! Time for the finals in the Swedish handball league, and they've got teams in both the men's and the women's final.

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed the Avengers. One question, though:

Spoiler:
Why does Joss Whedon impale so many of his male characters?

Well, Taig, I'm glad you asked......

Spoiler:
You see, in an attempt to prevent Joss from being a successful film maker, the future FreeholdDM used time travel technology to send young Whedon false dreams showing that he would destroy the world by accidentally impaling a famous actor, thus causing an international incident, followed by a quick escalation to WW III. Unfortunately, this dastardly scheme was actually what inspired Joss to become a filmmaker, and what causes him to kill so many actors via impalement.

Go Sävehof then (the club even has a german wikipedia page)

we have DFB Cup finals today my Bayern is in both of them:

Women: FC Bayern München vs FFC Frankfurt

Men: FC Bayern München vs BV Borussia Dortmund (freshly crowned german champions)

I'm sure there's some penetration symbolism somewhere...

You're not playing your cards right. Inform her that she puts the lotion on the skin or she'll get the hose.

Frankfurt once beat a Swedish team to the champions league title, so Bayern can win the women's cup. In the men's final my man-crush on Jürgen Klopp means I'll have to support the opposition, though.

And Sävehof can count in their first (of, hopefully, two) gold for the day. 9-8 at halftime became 27-14 at full time after they decided to start attacking properly and goalkeeper Cecilia Grubbström showed why she's a potential olympic medalist this summer.

it's Schnaps

Schnapps is american

And snapps is Swedish. :)

Can't say I care for the stuff myself, though.

yes!
Bayern Ladys beat Frankfurt 2:0

one down, one to go

Kajehase wrote:

the great thing about the guy is, after defending the championship he still acts and talks like a fan.

He is the 8th coach to defend the titel:
before him:
Hennes Weissweiler (with Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Udo Lattek (thrice! with München, Mönchengladbach and again München)
Pal Csernai (München)
Ernst Happel (Hamburger SV)
Jupp Heynckes (München)
Ottmar Hitzfeld(twice, Borussia Dortmund and München)
Felix Magath (München)

to become a real Legend he just has to win it with another club (prefeably with München)

7 coaches did that:
Lattek (6xMünchen, 2xMönchengladbach, Champions League with München, UEFA CuP with Mönchengladbach and FC Barcelona, 3x German Cup)
Hitzfeld (5xMünchen, 2xDortmund, Champions League with Dortmund and München)
Weissweiler (4xMönchengladbach, 1x 1.FC Köln)
Max Merkel (TSV 1860 München (boo, hiss) 1.FC Nürnberg)
Branko Zebec (München, Hamburger SV
Otto Rehagel (2xWerder Bremen, 1.FC Kaiserslautern,and the Euro with Greece, 3Cups 2xBremen 1xFortuna Düsseldorf, 1xUEFA Cup Bremen)
Magath (München, VFL Wolfsburg)
for simpicity I counted CupWinnersCup as UEFA Cup

why I did that List? I don't knopw, somtimes I am bored :-)

Seven minutes left of the men's final, and Sävehof are nine goals up. Yay for double golds!!

just a few minutes to cup final

I guess I will have to bug FaWtL with a few nervousness posts

and maybe a bit of frustration, I have a better feeling about the champions league final next week than about this one

I was a regular handball spectator in my youth, my local club the TVG (Turnverein Gelnhausen) playes 2.Bundesliga

8d, welcome back. You are always welcome here.

Happy anniversary, zombie. Please give the missus good hea -ah, I mean BRAINS. ;-)

Tis kingmaker Saturday. Must be off for now.

Btw, Whedon does that to maintain the blood sacrifices he must make to have a successful career. He is clearly in league with fiends.

3 minutes
Dortumd 1:0 in the lead, Kagawa grrrr
and Gomez already has missed a good chance

and 5 minutes later gomez missed another good opportunity but managed to injure the Dortmund keeper in the process

the final is broadcast in 150 countrys

so, quick, everyone finds the right channel
