Because they don't attack people directly, just organizations.

B+~$+%++. If I started bashing LGBT organizations how long do you think it would take for posts to be deleted and I receive a timeout? It sure as hell wouldn't survive to be a damn 500 page thread.

No offense to our non-traditional Fawtls, the obvious bias around here just gets under my skin from time to time.

Actually if you walked the fine line they do you probably would get away with bashing LGBT organizations. The difference though is that some one would make it personal in a way that would get the thread closed. Now me personally I would prefer if they did away with the political and religious discussion, since this is a gaming website.

I do understand, I've tried to call them out before on that thread as an atheist and as a gay individual, at best they ignore it, at worst they just obfuscate and subtly insult me. Believe me I'm aware of the bias but I can't do much about it. It makes me just as sad.

I know. I've seen some of your posts.

In a weird moment that parallels what the stereotypical non-NYer thinks about NY, there was a guy who was standing outside our window last night screaming at random intervals for absolutely no reason. Kept my wife up alllllllllllllll night. She was singing happily in the morning and basically being pleasant to be around, but told me that was solely because she didn't get any sleep last night and was a little crazy. I fear for the rest of the day...

Last year, I was helping my partner shoot some night photos from a street corner in L.A. and there was a guy down the street yelling nonsense at passing cars. After a little while, he noticed us and started walking towards us (still screaming at cars), but then got really quiet when he reached where we were. "What kind of camera is that?" he asked. My partner told him. "Oh, does that have [insert seriously technical camera specs]?" He carried on a brief, highly technical conversation about megapixel counts, image stabilization, and on-camera light meters. Then said, "Well, you have a good evening," and went back to screaming at traffic.

One of the most surreal experiences I have ever had.

huh. Weird.
I'm sure you've had plenty of experiences in your line of work to confirm this... I think too often we assume that people with serious mental illness are unintelligent. Of course, it's not true - they can be just as intelligent, educated, and well-informed as anybody else. This experience served as a good reminder for me.

While that's true, I've rarely had this happen to me professionally. Most times I've encountered someone decompensating, it's been fairly obvious due to the breakdown of other things- ADLs, etc. Still, that is one weird situation.

I think it's sha'n't. It's like...a double contraction?

Yes! I did! Sort of! Though we didn't get funding confirmation until Friday! And I went in anyway to bug bomb the place!

I would take photos to show everyone...but it would be a futile exercise that would leave everyone squinting and saying things like "I think I can see a doorknob between the camera strap and the pinky finger in this photo!"

This city is weird hippies and cowboys working in peace together. It's like if oil and water actually mixed just fine. It all seems oddly unnatural......... and OMG IT'S SO FLAT OUT HERE!!!!!
You moved to fawtl? ;)
Seemingly so, apparently the average flatlander doesn't care one way or another what the other persons view is, as long as they aren't flashy loud and obnoxious about it. Seriously here in Saskatchewan both the liberal and the conservative party fell flat on their faces from people being fed up with them, and they formed a coalition party called the Saskatchewan party. You heard me right the liberal and conservative politicians formed a political party together...... where have I moved? :|

Say it ain't so!!!!!! ;-)

Yes, but you have to phrase it right.

"I left my badge home and went back to get it."

"Car wouldn't start."

"Got stuck waiting for a train to pass."

"Alarm clock didn't go off."

And my favorite (actually heard this from a helper who showed up an hour late at the job site):

"I got on the ferry at the regular time, but when I got across the river it was an hour later. Must have been a time warp." (said with a straight face and a some-what worried expression)

I got wrong info yesterday. He was actually 10# 9 ounces! The kid's getting bigger already! Born at 12:35 yesterday afternoon.

Now, he and his brother have to grow up and play in the NFL and get free tickets for their great uncle.

BTW, Nick's uncle is a lineman for the 49ers. That dude is a big boy too.

If you stood next to his father and uncle you'd feel like a gnome. Those guys fill doorways. Easy.

Uh oh. Looks like his uncle may have been cut. :(
