@E7,
That was his name when I got him. I figured that with him being 5 I would just keep his name he is used to. I like that he lets me know when ever anyone is near my apartment. I don't normally get up til about 9 or 10 but with him I have a standing 6 am wake up call for "Walkies!"
Hehe. The shelter didn't know our dog's name or age, since she was a runaway. Great dog, save for animal dominance issues. She hates the rat dog next door, but the yipper is always challenging her. We're afraid that some day she'll eat the stoopid little thing.

@ E7,
I just heard about some of Duke's history yesterday. A family got him as a puppy when they had their first child. He stayed with them for about 4 years until they had a second child then they gave him to Homeless Pet Placement League in Houston. From there he was fostered to a lady for about 6 months. During that time another family adopted him. They had 3 teenagers and a 5 year old child. Supposedly while Mom, 5 year old, and Duke were in backyard Mom went inside for something and Duke growled at 5 year old. Back to foster Mom. Then I started looking for a dog and went to the website and saw him. I wanted a mature dog that had some training. His write up had just enough info to peek my interest. We met and he came home with me. He doesn't like seeing other dogs his size when he is leashed, but supposedly he plays nice when free. Haven't tried that yet. I want to wait til he gets more comfortable with me.

Quinn is friendly to other dogs when she's acknowledged as the alpha. She did try to get into a scuffle with the rat dog through the fence so we're nervous. We're also nervous about her being a runner, and she can clear a 4' fence.
The agency had her about 3 months, from another shelter before that. A family tried to adopt her but she wouldn't let the original dogs into her master's bedroom like they were used to. She's a Momma's dog, and has to sleep by the foot of our bed.
Very lovey dovey.

You might as well make one for They too. Everyone seems to quote They: "They said" this and "They wrote" that... it'll be nice to actually hear from They firsthand.

Ungh. Got clipped on the way home by a bus that was hogging a lane and a half. I hit my brakes to slow down a bit otherwise I would have been impaled by a parked car's side view mirror. Made my save for half damage, but I banged up my shin good and lost the clip on my bag. Still, it could have been worse..
yeesh man, sorry to hear that. I hate stupid drivers!

How's it going up/down on y'alls end?
Hope not too much cleaning up to do. Did FHDM finally get to you?
;)
Well, I've always liked riding, and with the shifts I do I have early afternoons free, and the Cape has some kick ass trails. If you are back on the comp check my FB page for some pics of my journeys. That and biking 50 miles a week has helped me shed a lot of excess monkey ;)
Irene just killed our power mostly. The cleaning was me dragging a fridge and freezer's worth of food to the dump and scrubbing the respective appliances out. *blerk*

The Master currently resides on the Book of Face, and makes sporadic forays into Paizonia.

Not back on the comp yet, using my PS3 to post. Sadly it will not allow to play on FB. :(
But congrats on becoming a leaner, meaner monkey. I've trying to get back to fighting shape myself ....

Yeah, it's been a decade and a lot of baked goods since I did PT every day and could bench 315. I'd like to stop the downward slide into obesity before I get gout or some such stupid malady.

I did that whilst I was in the Navy. A bunch of us went while we were in Ft. Lauderdale and got various parts decorated with bits of metal.
I went for the nips. I no longer wear them.
Naw, just b%@##*+#ting. No pointy metal gets near the junk... if I can help it. ;)
