I love spell decks! I've for a mage deck with flamewakers, sorcerers apprentices, mana wyrms and basically every nuke you can think off.

When I play it I sing, "Let it blow! Let it blow! I can't hold it back anymore!
Let it blow! Turn to face and blow down the door!"

I told you I sing!

And I have quicken spell like ability (Rhyme). So it does mean I have some ability to fangle songs up. And Speak in Rhyme more easily then the next person.

I dedicate this song to all of you happy pyromaniacs out there =D

Ouch. I can blow up more stuff with just three words, though. "Single Reactor Ignition." :D :D :D

It's been a while since I tried a dedicated spell deck, I think it's time to have another go at it. What are your favorite nukes? :)

Frost bolt, forgotten torch, fireball, firelands portal. Magic missiles for Mook removal.

You'll need babbling book, ethereal conjurer for more spells, faceless summoner for board presence. Oh and 2 arcane golem. End game their mana cost is lol.

Cabalist tome (1) for more spells, arcane intellect for card draw.

Flame strike and maybe pack in a polymorph or two for creature removal.

Can't remember if I had mirror image or not, maybe 1.

My mage deck is a variant of this and I took out loot hoarders, yogg Saron (too random), and spellslingers since I don't want to give the opponent cards. I don't have the dosh for Archmage Antonidas.

My hearthstone decks are mostly Weenie (to steal a Magic the gathering term) and face. I don't have the patience to do fancy, convoluted combos.

Could so never pull off the jade golem business, though I can do a cthun druid.

It never gets old.

I've suddenly been inspired to revisit my Manaless Eggs deck . . . .

:D

It's out of my playstyle but the theory is you buff you eggs to give them attack. Or give them taunt so they can get broken for your dinosaurs or nerubians...

Use Argus defender, sunfury protectors, abusive Sergeants, dark iron dwarves.

Me? I like a good murloc pally or a quick beast face hunter. Warlock ain't bad too.

Oh, I know nothing about Hearthstone. I'm talking M:TG. :D

Been playing off and on since Ice Age/4th Edition. EDH is where it's at, though! No tournament pressure -- just getting to wild gamestates while hanging with the gang.

M:TG

Ordering one white weenie deck please. I could pick up the white heat deck and just play happily.

Also I know a set of 6 cards for a black deck you can use to kill the opponent in turn 1, baring force of will or unforseen circumstances.

Swamp
Dark ritual(x3)
Nether shadow
Hatred

I presume there are other ways to manage that feat with more finesse but that's what I came up with.

Even though I'm technically off, I agreed to be on standby in case the new guard comes in late. Like he did last Friday. The morning guard has other work to do Friday evenings.

Floating knickers, unlike the lead-weighted panties you Colonials wear for reasons that can only be guessed at.

Corgi toys were ace. Practically indestructable.

Completed my first dungeon run in Hearthstone. Took three tries with Mage. I think it was interesting, but I don't know if I'll do it with the other classes.

I still have my c'thun druid too, so much fun!

Not much a fan of combo decks, but give me a good solid control deck with a gradual mana curve any day. :) My one disappointment with HS is that a vanilla deck was totally playable when I first started, now it seems like I need an optimized synergy theme to win matches.

I do have a beast hunter, but my impulse to control the board is so strong that I rarely play him as a face hunter. :/ It's just so hard to click on that opponent hero when there're things I can kill on the board!

Actually the mage basic deck is pretty decent.

Issue is HS has a matching system that pits you against opponents with equal skill, which means the more games you win in casual, the tougher opponents get.

I have little interest in control. Just smack the crap out of people.

Surprisingly, in pathfinder I play primarily casters and tend to be heavy on control, showing disdain for DPR races.

I have played both Hearth Stone and Magic the Gathering, but over time I have come to the conclusion that both "card games" are not really for me.
I have a bit of a addictive personality, so I end up spending far, far to much on such collectible games, and get hit rather hard with buyers remorse.
That said I really have nothing against either game. I find that Magic's universe is pretty well crafted, with pretty interesting storylines (ripe for swiping campaign ideas). Hearth stone is, well...if you're really into the WoW universe, its more of that. I have my hang up's with it, but I can't deny is also well crafted and, at times, very interesting too.
It simply aren't games that I really can delve into much without getting into uncomfortable territory about my spending habits...

Now Rpg's I also collect to the point of obsession, but at least I've created a "reward system" (aka, you get to spend this amount each month, so you better get the stuff you really, really want!) that lets me reign in the worst impulses.

optimisation, factionalism, trap options, and the death of conversation about anything other than the rules.

Mm.

Wake up at 5:30.

Pack everyone's lunch and breakfast.

Set all the clothes up for Eldest.

Help Eldest and wife get up at 6.

Make sure Eldest is, you know, clothed.
(Well, properly, at least: in his school uniform.)

Kiss wife on way back to sweet, sweet unconsciousness for three more hours.

... that's a pretty good morning.

I have managed to not pay a single cent on Hearthstone. But I don't play competitively.

optimisation, factionalism, trap options, and the death of conversation about anything other than the rules.

1) optimization was always a thing; it just has a more codified name, now

2) I don't understand; weren't you the one telling us Crane or Crab or whatever is best?

3) those also always existed; it just now has a name

4) ... what conversations are you having, 'cause we talk about other stuff all the time! (Unless you somehow mean story convos backed up by in-world rules, which is, unfortunately, slowly dying as both Paizo and WotC move away from simulationist/internal consistency design philosophy - admittedly, 5E does have a much stronger internal consistency streak in 5E than they did in 4E, so that's pretty cool.)

My wife bought me a Harry Dresden shirt. The front is "Saving the World One Act of Random Destruction at a Time"

However, the back is one of my favorite Jim Butcher quotes - “Evil isn’t the real threat to the world. Stupid is just as destructive as Evil, maybe more so, and it’s a hell of a lot more common. What we really need is a crusade against Stupid. That might actually make a difference.”

I wore it to the office today. They need to learn or be cleansed.

So I've heard of this, but I've never experienced it: We ordered a graphing calculator for Impus Major. In the box was a second wrapped bundle. In the bundle was a very pretty glass duck paperweight and a broken pocketknife. Bonus loot? WTH?

Even more oddly, the duck paperweight, being the more distinctive of the two items, is not listed as an item for sale at Amazon.

I have... no idea what just happened. The Lawful part of me wants to return the items. The Lazy part of me realizes that a duck paperweight and a broken pocketknife isn't exactly worth my time.

But feh. Stupid Lawfulness! I'll ping Amazon.

I wasn't gonna push, or anything.

Besides -- how many times are we *both* going to agree that Aboleth Abeloth was a bad joke?

And I'm still making the same gripes I did back on FaWtL 6 posts #s 142685 and 142710 (pages 2854 and 2855, respectively). Nothing new. No, I'm not linking them. Too many keystrokes.

Though a few of the issues you raised and to which I responded *will* be new territory (Boom! Headshot!), which is always fun to cover (at least the first time) {ohwowididitagain!}.

"All too easy."

Hope to read you soon! :)

Sadly, Stupid may be the only thing in the world less concretely, uniformly defined than Good and Evil. Especially since more often than not it's just a codeword for "does not agree with me on X subject(s)".

Well, so much for "Lawful".

My colleague, who was delighting me by failing all my labs, hit one that didn't work. It just plain broke.

Instructions in this case are clear. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING, contact the author, and DO NOTHING until the author takes a look.

For reasons beyond my understanding, he didn't contact me at all, moved on, completed the rest of the testing, and I didn't hear so much as "boo" until I got to the point where I'm trying to do the corrections.

WTH, people? How hard is it to STOP when you hit an error? Is doing NOTHING SOOOOOOOO hard!?!?!?!?

I'm about to head Downtown, just in case I get called in. I'll hang out at the library. If I get called in, the garage is only a few minutes away. Otherwise, I go home.
