Oh well, at least she got to see a finished Wunderlick test. It's nice bringing those things back to the tester completed within the time period. I think I almost gave the poor woman heart failure. Too bad they weren't all correct. Oh well, I got 90% of the right.

I"m sure you did great! Would this job be in Houston? You would like Houston. You would have lots of friends here. :D

Good luck, CJ!

Also, I hope I haven't missed too much in the past day, but there were too many posts for me to catch up on.

Houston is a wonderful place for gamers, especially gamers of the FAWTL persuasion, to live. We encourage all who desire access to many games, many gaming conventions and a hellishly hot climate with little to no snow to move here for unlimited opportunities!

The lack of snow is a turnoff, though. How else are you going to have "Whoops we're snowed in, looks like we can't go home and have to keep playing ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!" games?

I dont' recall 77 much, but I'm a HUGE fan of 78!

Bah, 77 was the best year. Both Star Wars and I made my debut in the same year. It was an omen of greatness.

BTW, I'm the best at being humble.

Just saying.

And yes, there are multiple lunch gods. There's the god of healthy lunches. There's the god of delicious lunches. Together they form the composite god of delicious and healthy lunches.

I find myself in agreement with Orthos. Snow = proof the devil exists and wants me to be unhappy.

I'm also pretty convinced the devil is in league with the god of healthy lunches.

Heat=suckage. Is it Fall yet?

Move down to Houston! We have air conditioning!

Scarab Sages

Not yet. I'm hoping that by the time I get back from San Diego we'll hav cooler weather here in Philly.

Scarab Sages

Which reminds me: If Sebastian and any other San Dieogans read this: I'll be in your neck of the woods for about 2 weeks starting on 19 August. Sadly, I will be working nights again - but only 10 hour shifts instead of 12 hour shifts. So I'll probably be on the ship between 4 pm and 3 am.

One of the first projects I had completed for my first summer in our house was to have Central AC installed. I don't know how people can live without it.

I have window units, but I'm tired of being in my bedroom =/

And I'm hella tired of 78 degree weather at 230 am when I have to go fire up a big old baking oven at 325 degrees and slave in front of it for four hours =/

You gotta be kidding me. You enjoy triple digit temperature days?

Fall? That's for amateurs. Winter is coming.

I was hit on by a man once...

Detroit Version - I was 18-19 and walking home on a major road from my girlfriend's house late at night. Noted a car keeping pace with me, way too slow for a vehicle to be going, even at my normally brisk pace. Even back then life in the D meant watching for trouble. I hurriedly turned onto my street, ready to sprint. The car made the turn as well; crappy car full of junk, and this nasty older guy asked me straight out if I was interested in some sex. Wasn't sure if he thought I was a hooker or what. It's not like the neighborhood back then was like that.

I stammered, 'No' and took off. He simply turned his car around and got back on the main road. I was ticked and angry, but just wanted to get the heck out of there. Creepy, skanky dude.

Fall is clement. Winter is cold (or at least it used to be =/)

When the humidity is <10%, absolutely. Heat over cold any day of the week I'd say. I'm a reptile.

I'd still prefer it in the 80s and overcast (LOVE overcast days, like today), but 100-110 with no humidity is tolerable.

Now here, where the humidity rarely dips below 60%, it's hell.

We seem to have missed winter here in Lousy-anna last year.
No 'cool' temps at all.
Seriously, I think I wore an actual coat once the entire winter.

Still better off than Oklahoma right now. Tulsa has averaged 113 degrees for over a week straight. I read that the OK street lamps are actually starting to melt! ;P

+! on the MUST have central AC. I do not know how people survived in this climate before they were invented! :(

AND it seems like the humidity never falls below 100% here. Seriously. ;P

I routinely wear shorts in any weather above freezing. I come from a long line of Canadians, and despite my transplanting and grafting onto the America tree, I don't think my genes ever lost their yearning for Nova Scotian winters.

Plus my ancestry is Scots Hebredian, so between the northern Pict/rapist Viking DNA I carry I enjoy cold weather best.

Heheh,
My wife is born and bred here in Lousy-anna, and she complains about the heat more than I do! And I'm the transplant!

(From Oklahoma, where we actually HAVE seasons!)

FYI- 'Normal' states have four seasons: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring.

Lousy-anna has only two: 'Hotter than H@!!' and 'Not quite so d@m#ed hot!'

;P

Winter here ticks me off the mostest.

While others are enjoying snowball fights, I'M mowing my yard!

At Christmastime! :(

I had my first White Christmas back in 2010. I went back to AZ for a few more months before making my move the following April, but apparently Chattanooga suffered through a pretty rough and blizzardy Jan-Feb season in 2011. So glad I missed that and that 2011/12 winter was comparatively very mild.

Well, last year we were pretty much mowing at Christmas here too. =/

While not a fan of the rabid global warming movement, you have to be blind not to see SOMETHING is changing, whether natural or manmade or both.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Considering I nearly always work Christmas Eve and that any form of precipitation renders the average driver incapable of actually operating their vehicle, I have to say White Christmases are like James Cameron's Avatar. They're no doubt pretty, but dear lord are they overrated.

I was just talking about my love for snow with Moorluck. Snow is a rare occurrence in South Carolina.

I am glad that you had such a good time this weekend, Freehold DM.

I really could not live without seasons.

Summer is my least favorite but even Summer I could not live without.

the times when the seasons change are my favorites

I would be okay with an endless Fall. The hint of chill on the wind, the wane of the summer sun...
