Freehold must not be confident in his ability to penetrate our outer defenses of hundreds of miles of bike trails, craft breweries, and carefree college girls to abscond with the General.

Edit: Of course I'm naked, it's after Labor Day!!

If so, you may need someone else to take care of you.

Me and two kids, bringing one to church, and taking him on a (months delayed) Toys'R'Us shopping spree (using a gift card given him for said b-day). Including a bow with 100 water balloons. CY, I blame you for this somehow (even though you weren't involved).

Also, Freehold, she is super geeky, incredibly hot, and... MINE.

oh no worries, she is still your wife. I am just absconding with her to a place where the temperature is cooler, the black manliness is more...well, MORE, and there is Netflix and Hulu and that thing she likes.

Good luck keeping her there! SUCKER

(She will hate pretty much everything you just mentioned, except the Netflix.)

I also have chocolate. And coffee.

And there are variable settings to the black manliness, everything from Malcolm x to Wayne Brady, she can adjust the dial as she sees fit.

And come on! There has to be some...THING she likes!

okay.

Maybe I'll be a *bit* inebriated when I stop by for her absconding. But there is enough room in the prius for a folding bike and it drives itself, so no worries.

Also, the college girls would have to be nonsensically hot for me to choose then over the general.

The general is geeky right? Like super geeky?

- 1) Pathfinder, D&D (several editions; before I ever did), Blue Rose, etc.
- 2) Other RPGs (Firefly, Hero Kids, Star Wars [West End and d20])

The problem is that she likes those things with me (or our boys, or her brother; none of which really go well in the Abscondi cave).

But, you can feel free to comfort yourself with the idea that she's less geeky, since she's about the single most responsible adult I know, and likes her geeky things as a form of stuff extensively shared with her chosen loved ones.

>insert very well-practiced villain laugh (that I've taught both younglings) here<

Man, that may be the first ever semi-legitimate use of that I've ever had (the rest being erupting into said laughter at random in Crackerbarrel or wherever with the kids for the lulz). And I can't even due it 'cuz sick sucks!

Though, I'm not that into torture, so, to help a Freehold out, I'll go ahead and give him a list of requirements the Lioness would insist upon for the cave:

- Facebook (no, but seriously, this tops the list)
- Firefly (show and games derived from them)
- All things Harry Potter
- Forgotten Realms (especially all the NPCs)
- generally unerotic/non-violent anime (also other shows)
- - - > EDIT: this one is a little vague, so let's clarify a bit: no OPM, Monster Girls, uncensored 08th MS Team (I only recently learned that it was partially censored when I saw it back when), or anything involving tentacles, groping/unrequested touching (a major hindrance to enjoying Seven Deadly Sins), anyone that looks like they could be underage, anything involving "teachers" at all, anything with more gore/violence than listed shows (and both Temple of Doom and Serenity push this to the limit), and so on
- "warm" weather (not hot, but ~73-78 degrees; sunny)
- Joss Whedon's version of Much Ado About Nothing

This is an incomplete list, of course, but it's a start.

These are things that must be shared and enjoyed by all relevant parties in their fullest, otherwise it's a no-go.

I'll have to see how she feels about Alton Brown...

... at least that's (along with water) our go-to around the house for similar (as it's the wife's preference). I and her dad also like Gatoraid. You, of course, gotta do what's best for you, though! Hope you feel better, soon!

Tacticslioness, I beg you to reconsider that.

I am about to go see the songstress who sings both opening and ending themes to that series this Friday in the culmination of a years long dream. We don't have to all like the same things, but please, no unnecessary censorship of a beautiful part of true Gundam.

It really saddens me when I feel strongly that most people are fundamentally good, decent folk, yet any time you have any kind of public gathering, the scumbags come out in force.

I live on a quiet street with the exceptions of Tuesdays (garbage day, so the scavengers come through to grab all the glass and aluminum for the deposit money) and Sundays (Farmer's Market).

If you are silly enough to try to do anything on those two days, and only those two days, expect someone to try to steal your stuff.

This morning was particularly brazen. My neighbor 3 houses down was working in his yard. I was loading the Prius for a trip to storage. And someone took long enough to watch me, time me, and steal into the Prius between two of my trips to try to find something to steal.

From an 11-year-old car that looks like it belongs in a wrecking yard.

Needless to say, they didn't find anything worth stealing. But the fact that they tried and left my door and my glovebox open just saddens me. Can't you come to my neighborhood and not be an %^&*#$?

I'm fine; just disheartened.

None of the crime around here is "threatening": They don't break into people's houses, there are no strongarm robberies other than the major walking paths, etc.

But most of the time I leave my front door unlocked and my friends can come and go as they please, and if I'm working in the garage I can leave the door wide open as I work.

Then along comes Sunday and I'm rudely reminded that there are people out there who think absolutely nothing of helping themselves to your stuff as they walk past, and it just saddens me.

Honestly, the scavengers are at least "polite" about it -- they drive by in the middle of the night, check car doors to see whether any got left unlocked, and then quietly loot the cars. About half a dozen cars get hit in the city every week. But they don't cause any property damage, and they don't take stuff that isn't "profitable", so they leave our CDs , charging cables, and paperwork alone.

But the "Farmer's Market Scavengers" who'll help themselves to your stuff in broad daylight, they're just depressing...

EDIT: And the reason I use the term "scavengers" is because it really isn't the homeless. A few years ago a group of (I kid you not) tiny older Asian men started driving around in 1980's economy cars at 3 or 4 in the morning and looting the recycling before the people from the homeless encampments could get to it. I have no idea who they are or where they came from, but it's like some bizarro movie gang right out of The Warriors.

Can't you come to my neighborhood and not be an %^&*#$?

are you okay?

But they don't cause any property damage, and they don't take stuff that isn't...

I've been robbed before, ir.was life altering. I'm sorry this happened to you, friend .
