I noble goal if there was one. But How should I implement it. Any suggestions?

Threat of demonic invasion?

A zombie apocalypse?

A Werewolf apocalypse?

Vampire armies?

Shell I release Elder Gods Rising?

Horrific space seed from outer space?

Obama for another four years in office?

The choices seem so endless.

It's bloody cold in Sydney and Mrs 8D kept stealing the doona. I'm cold right down to my bones... I need some very hot coffee and hot shower to unfreeze.

Just tell 'em that you did a stint in the FAWTL side by side with the LPM, works every time.

:-) A big thick quilted blanket stuffed with goose feathers.

Silver Crusade

A "comforter" in Americanish.

Please. Don't try to fool me into thinking it's ever been "bloody cold" there since the end of the last ice age.

Ah, that's what it is.

Ahhh cool I think the British call them a duvet....

It's 13'C or about 55'F it should be at least 16-17C (60-63'F)

That's nice spring weather. Cold is below 30 degrees F. :)

We didn't get much cold weather this year actually.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Bleh. Migraines suck. Glad I was able to take imitrex in time to keep it from being really bad.

Hah! We haven't been that warm since last October. (And I still wore shorts to work a few weeks back - since it had crawled above 7,5 C.)

55F sounds heavenly.

In the US duvets are for looks and not snuggles.

Speak for yourself. I definitely use my duvet for snuggles. It's fluffy and warm and not heavy. Is why l bought it.

I thought a duvet by definition had an underside for staying put and not for skin contact. Maybe I'm terminologically confused.

Scarab Sages

Mrgh.

At work now..... :-( I get to catch up with my RPG crew tonight :-)

So looking forward to hanging out.

I grew up in the tropics anything below 55'F is ungodly.

I grew up in Texas, which is hotter'n hell. Four years in the NE US appears to have destroyed any tolerance I had for the heat. I consider A/C as Life Support for Starship Home. Man, I miss the weather of the temperate zone.

Ingonish baybee!

Well, maybe Sydney. Half of Sydney's population are my cousins, anyway. In an alternate universe my last name is MacIntyre ...

Iceland or Finland sounds good to me...

Cape Breton looks like Cape Cod did before they overdeveloped it. =/

My dad refused to get Aircon - it took years for mum to convince him... When they finally got it dad would only get it for their bedroom and no where else on the house.

Mum & Dad spent a few years living in Indonesia, Malaya, and Singapore dad doesn't think it's hot enough for Aircon in Brisbane.

They live in a traditional Queensland style house - they have big open varandahs and are built on stilts to let the cool air flow under the house.

Mrs 8D spent her earliest years growing up a few hours north Brisbane. She remembers when it got to hot to sleep in the house at night they would sleep in hammocks slung between the stilts under the house.

Cool, we have quite a few neighborhoods built like that around here. It's always been one of my favorite styles for some reason.

I have seen similar houses in Louisiana. Being in Kansas currently I just can't fathom a home without a basement and storm shelter.

but in Louisiana it would just flood right?

The cool thing about the Queenslander house is that they are very portable. You can buy secondhand houses and have them transported to your block of land.

There used to be a second hand house lot, like a used car lot, in between Brisbane and the Gold Coast - I have been trying to find some pictures to link. The place was so cool you could choose the house (usually cut in half for ease of transportation) they would whack it on the back of a semi or two and transport it to your block of land. joining your house together, connecting your services would take about two weeks to a month and you were all done.
