I thought I could get away if I ditched my clothes, but alas, no.

Sorry to hear that, Mairk. Get out in the sunshine for a while.

No no, put your clothes back on FIRST! Oh dear.

It does. I feel that I have a bias against me because of it. The only ones I tend to become a magnet for are people wanting me to sell insurance.

Not going to happen.

not here. Doing furniture assembly at a friend's then picking up tax stuff from moms.

Yeah, I need to do that tax stuff tonight. Not going to get much since only two months last year were taxable. Ah well, at least I won't owe anything!

Also dropped a couple boxes of things at Goodwill, hope someone else can get some use out of it all.

Sympathies, CH.

Was talking with a contractor out there last week, and he said it's been rough times in LA. He's hopeful it's turning a corner. Hope it does. And it's not just an election year bump. We need some good years to make up for these last several.

I got the Black Dog off of my face and it is no longer pinning me. Now it's gripped my leg and I'm dragging it around. I will go out and hear some Baroque and see if that helps.

Well, Chris' final childhood illusion was shattered when, upon his graduation from college, his parent's finally told him the truth about Santa Claus. Meanwhile, Nathan's ruthless takeover of the company was nearly complete, except for a lone holdout who'd barricaded himself in the mailroom. And, across town, Gregg and Derek's long-in-th-planning roadtrip got off to a rocky start when they suddenly realized that....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

need...something. Been hardly out of the house for a week. Missed work most of the week. Now I am thankfully starting to feel better and am now getting cabin fever. I need out. Tomorrow is a work day. I pray I will feel good enough to work, just so I can stay the hell out of the house.

This is it. My last week at my current job where I have been for 5.5 years. It's going to be a very busy week. I have to finish performance appraisals for all of my people, and tie up a bunch of loose ends plus say a bunch of good byes. I am very excited about by new job, but it is hard to leave this one. A lot of good people were very supportive of me during my tenure. I think I was able to return the favor in kind.

The process of changing jobs is not very fun. I am glad it's coming to an end.

CJ - I hope you are feeling better now and can make it through a full day at work.

CH - I'm sending you good wishes that your partner has better luck finding a job. I'm sure its been stressful on both of you.

Taig - good luck in Toronto. Plus, I am looking forward to reading about your organization tomorrow.

To all of the other FaWTL posters and lurkers alike. Have a great week!

Not sure about other places, but the weather here in the Philly area has been unseasonable warm for most of January. I'm talking highs averaging in the upper 40s. SO AWESOME!!!

Also, we'll probably be moving Charlie over to his new car seat later today. I installed it in my wife's car the other day, and we could have used it today, but I didn't feel like trying to safely hook him into the new seat in the dark. When we pick him up later, I'll put him in the new one.

Good morning!

What a pain. Someone in Texas (<<..>>) got hold of my wife's credit card number last month. While not responsible for the charges it's staggering to see that they somehow duplicated the card itself.

Did I mention that I ran into Steven Tyler again? Celebrity sitings are one thing, but what does it mean when it's the same celebrity repeatedly? We were walking down the street past a sidewalk cafe, and he pulled up in a rare $2M Mercedes sportscar and climbed out of the gull-wing door right in front of us. It wasn't even a ritzy area, but the restaurant looked tasty.

The speed and efficiency shown by some of these credit card thief types is amazing. I may have told this story before, but....

....Years ago, the girlfriend of an older brother was shopping at a mall when her purse was stolen. In the 30-40 minutes it took her to get from the mall to my parent's house and start calling her credit card companies, they had already charged several hundred dollars between two of her cards.

Well, despite their recent falling out, Max and Steven spent some quality time together when they were trapped in an elevator for nearly 5 hours during a freak snow storm. Meanwhile, Rob began to suspect that he was somehow being followed by his friend George's two young children. And, across town, Derek was shocked to learn the identity of the person who had sent him a.....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Workin' like a dog for the boss man (Oh!)

Workin' for the company (Oh, yeah!)
I'm bettin' on the dice I'm tossin' (Oh!)
I'm gonna have a fantasy (Oh, yeah!)
But where am I gonna look?
They tell me that love is blind
I really need a girl like an open book
to read between the lines

Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I'm goin' down
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up 'til I hit the ground

Jacki's in the elevator
Lingerie second floor
She said 'Can I see you later
And love you just a little more?'
I kinda hope we get stuck
nobody gets out alive
She said 'I'll show ya how to fax in the mailroom honey
and have you home by five'

Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I'm goin' down
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up 'til I hit the ground

In the air, in the air, honey one more time now it
ain't fair
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm goin' down

Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm goin' down
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I hit the ground

Gonna be a penthouse pauper
Gonna be a millionaire
I'm gonna be a real fast talker
and have me a love affair
Gotta get my timin' right
It's a test that I got to pass
I'll chase you all the way to the stairway, honey
Kiss your sassafras

Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm goin' down
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I hit the ground

Do you care? Do you care?
Honey one more time now it ain't fair.
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I'm goin' down (x2)

In the air, in the air
Honey one, one, one, one, one more!
Love in an elevator
Livin' it up when I'm going down (x3)

Love in an elevator
Love, livin' it up when I'm going down

In the air, in the air, in the air, in the air

Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm going down

[rant]If you are running a company, why do you hire an office manager who does not know how to use Excel? It's pretty standard. Why is it my job to teach you how to use Excel? Why do you blame my company for Excel's deficiencies? Call Bill Gates - he gets paid enough money to have to sit through your complaints.[/rant]

What? I thought you'd appreciate the two dozen garden gnomes. They're in the mail, on their way to you now!

:)

Hope the hassle isn't too much. My parents' first online transaction got their credit card number stolen, and it took 10 years for them to try again after a scare like that.

No gnomes!

Despite the charges it was the company that contacted my wife to alert her. By mail, unfortunately. And my wife doesn't like to open mail from her cc company until right before pymnts are due. And not during the holidays because she's so busy. Luckily they froze the card automatically, until we made a pymnt. Then the charges started up again. Argh.

CC company's hometown - El Paso
Bogus charges - El Paso

Hmmm?

A ton of low-moderate value gas station purchases. Which is why I think they created a dup card so they could swipe and go without having to sign.

The only good gnome is a red gnome.

Spoiler:
If it was a blue gnome it'd be a smu$f. ;P
