I have hidden a lot of threads based on title alone.

I should do the same I have started and participated in more than one stupid thread.

Thanks - although the Swedish proverb I'm looking for an English equivalent of has a meaning that's more about someone gaining by another's calamity. "One man's death, another's bread," perhaps? (Unless someone can think of an actual proverb with the same thought behind it.)

"One's breath, another's death"?

Maybe, 'It's an ill wind that blows nobody no good?' or 'One man's misfortune is another's opportunity?'

It's only going to get worse as the Fall approaches. You can see the mighty engines of the two political machines ratcheting up the rhetoric. My advice, just hit the hide button. Do not open the thread, do not bother to read. Just hide, hide, hide. I have gotten to the point where if I see certain posters I know to hide the thread, no matter how innocuous the title.
I find that once the thread is hidden, I no longer think about it. As long as I resist the temptation to peek, I am fine. I have gotten good at no peekies.

Orthos - as a cure for avoiding the endless bickering in the various threads yet staying connected. I suggest you resurrect this pbp.. I miss that campaign and would eagerly jump back in if you chose to bring it back.

The Minis Maniac |
So I kinda hit rock bottom as a collector today. I went through every DDM gallery and couldn`t find a mini I don`t already own in significant quantity. I also did the same at Dwarvenforge.com and there is only one small set (the chasm set) that I want and it is currently out of stock. So I am literally to the point where only outside terrain remains. And I could have most of that finished (through purchase) in 6 months. I will soon be at a point in my collection where I can only collect stuff as it comes out. Sad sad days :(

Don`t get my wrong Callous Jack the paper minis are awesome! In fact I recommend them over the plastic minis to my friends who are just starting the game. But I`m a must be 3d guy. But I will still keep recommending them to all of my buddies who complain about minis prices and to new guys. It ought to help keep paper minis going. I just don`t know what I`ll do when my 3D collection is almost done. I will be so I don`t know the word........ bored I guess since I won`t be needing to collect stuff. I may start saving my money for a 3d printing commission. Because who wouldn`t want 3D mountainous terrain or desert terrain complete with dunes. Or under water terrain. etc. I`d just need to track down a willing company.

Thanks for the recommendations, MM!
I think you should go with Sharoth's advice, time to start collecting RAFM, Grenadier and other old models!
Or switch to Legos. ;-)

Y'know, if you gave some away to, let's say a nice viking ship with too low an income to get its own minis, there might be some missing again. ;)
