Only twenty-six? Slacker.

EDIT: no, I'm dressed. I'm sitting in my car, after all, in a parking space, and don't fancy getting arrested. Though I was (semi-unwillingly) sort-of-mind-of "forced" to go shirtless last night. (It was better than keeping the little-child-pee-soaked shirt on, even if it was my little child.)

Who would you wish to play your role? Laurence Fishburn, or Richard T. Jones?

Spoiler:
One is the hero, the other survives...

It's amazing how certain play styles just grate on your nerves.

Whingey Wizard, in addition to his roleplaying faults, is one of those unbelievably-careful players who won't go anywhere before Scrying, Detecting Invisible, Detecting Magic, sending the ranger or rogue ahead to scout for traps, and then spending 15 minutes pondering in what other way his nefarious GM is trying to screw over the party.

It's one of those deer-in-the-headlight attitudes born of playing under an extremely-abusive GM who killed him more than once with, "Aha! You didn't think of THIS! Now you're DEAD! Mwahahahahahaha!"
Or maybe he's just always been that way.

But when you have an AP with an artificially-imposed time limit ("The BBEG is stirring! You must get there now Now NOW to stop him!!!!") and the wizard's response is, "Well, I prepare only one Scry spell a day because I need to keep my other slots ready, just in case. And if that one fails, then we need to spend another day in Safetown so I can scribe more scrolls and craft more wands. And we can try another Scry tomorrow," then by the third or fourth day you really feel like it's time to just let the BBEG wake up and wipe the party and respond with, "Oh, sorry. Your wizard didn't take all the threats of him waking up seriously, so you took too long."

So just two clashing play styles. I really don't want my players mistrusting me so much that gameplay grinds to a halt due to their paranoia, so it really grates on me when they do so anyway.

If it takes 10 minutes of real time, it's preparation. If it take 90 minutes, it's paranoia.

EDIT: And it's funny because I had a bit of enlightenment while talking about this on my Serpent's Skull thread: It's the difference between, "OK, let's think about what the enemy is likely to be doing and plan for that" (my JR and SA groups) versus, "OK. Let me open up the books and scan through them to try to figure out what spell or magic item I can get my hands on that will make it...

yeah. Been there before.

I don't know if the two viewpoints will ever come to some sort of peace.

YES.

Which is why it took him nine years and three extensions to finish his PhD, and why bourbon and coffee are my two best friends. And why I have spent the last twenty one years contemplating murder.

It's sort of like Judy Hoops and Flash the Sloth from Zootopia got together.

HAH! Trick question!

I want the person who plays, "human number <whatever>" that lives on the earth approximately 30 years prior to the events of the film!

No, the extended cut would not have made it better.

Blech.

Love the monster, though!

Ah, that moment when you realize that your character cares less for her life than you do:
In a holy site of Norgorber, in a room full of torture implements, with a leather-and-barb wrapped shape in a cage at the bottom of a pit...
...she had to jump into the pit to try to rescue the poor person.

I was... unhappy with her decision.

On the other hand,

Skull & Shackles: It all worked out in the end:

It was indeed a captured, mutilated prisoner, and her Heal and Lesser Restoration, plus the captain's Soothing Performance, brought her back from insanity. Then the entire party agreed to spend part of the loot fund getting her a Regeneration to restore her body parts.

I love my Sunday group. "Evil pirates" indeed!

EDIT: I'd say that she and Nora would get along because of their pit-jumping tendencies, but no, no they wouldn't. She's even got the party killing machine using a Merciful sword. PITA healers!

Urrrrrrrg. 8:36 AM, sent my Youngest to the shower (before his Dr. appointment today, you know, and maybe a flu shot). 8:38 AM - he reappeared, and I sent him back (suitably chastised at having missed a couple of minutes. I smell something terrible on the way back, and discover a trail of poopy leading from my bedroom door to the shower. 8:39 to present: cleaning a roughly seven-foot-long trail of carpet.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Fortunately, I started this process two hours before his appointment...

Nora only would have jumped into the pit if (a) there was something down there that needed killing, or (b) the rest of the party dithered longer than, say, ten minutes over a play to get her out.

LOL. This is our Skull & Shackles group, that of the, "Ooh! A pit! Let's all jump in sight unseen and see what happens!" variety.

It really is a hoot to play, but boy, do they keep my healer busy...

And I have to say, having your spouse as your GM is an untold luxury. We're between books, so we just returned to Port Peril, wealthy and powerful.

So Del (a tiefling), finally feeling self-confident enough to go out alone, has started wandering the streets in her robes of Sarenrae, trying to do good.

And so far she's earned more money than she's been able to give away, since everyone in the pirate town just assumes that a beautiful tiefling in holy robes is some kind of mummer's farce, and they're really enjoying the show.

She is... frustrated...
