The good news is, 2 or 3 of the assignments are easy. I get to create a portfolio from my teaching assignments, defend my portfolio choices, then summarize ALL my prior assignments.

Sometimes, I do my assignments naked too.

Pffft. Online university. I do my assignments however I want.

Which currently means jeans and t-shirt.

Up at Stupid O'clock again.

Did not sleep so well.

12 hours of work ahead.

Kill me now.

Here's hoping we don't have to do this tomorrow as predicted, by some miracle.

Five weeks and one day.

Evening shift days are even more unproductive for me than morning shift... I get up, watch internet, play some games, eat something, wake up, wash myself and go to work before my brains reaches any acceptable level of focus and creativity...

I'm sorry. Here's hoping the day goes smooth.

Off to work.

Okay! Everyone from the LPM to the CH to the HD should have gotten a text from me last night. If you did not, and I have contacted you via phone in the past, then please send me a PM or email with your contact info so I can get in touch with you- it means that your number was not either on my SD card or in google, so I'm gonna need to add you again.

First day with new phone! It's the note3 and I'm in love thus far. It's a huge phone, but as most people who have met me already know, I have big hands

Spoiler:

, so it's a relief to be able to type on the touchscreen without every other word being autocorrected. This is a new day techwise for me, so I'm trying to bring a more optimistic attitude to everything else.

That said, I'm hungry. I really want to eat, but I don't want to break into my lunch too early...

However, GM got grumpy with us players for dithering around: so our PC's got captured and locked up in a force cage (again)

Feel free to pass some of that along (the rain, not the grumpy GM).
My friend down south even had some green lightning on Friday. But I just got the regular stuff.
Like St. Elmo's Fire?
Not sure possibly. I was playing Mechwarrior: Online with him when he was startled by the green flash, later there was more normal forked lightning. Of course last night we were playing a bit of Warthinder & his place was getting buzzed by helicopters (well twice).
What's your handle on MWO?

Lately however I've been getting a bit annoyed with the match-maker, since I usually drop as a pair with my friend - thus it only puts us against teams and therefore usually larger teams. Combine this with me being a mediocre player, playing lights/mediums that aren't the meta, or trying to grind up catapults - I've been losing alot.... which is super frustrating, especially since the rewards are terrible for losing compared to winning.

I almost never play, but I do have an account. Yes, the matchmaker is seriously FUBARed.

Just across town. It was time to renew the lease, but since all of our friends are on the east side of Phoenix, as is my campus, we decided to look for a new place over there. Currently waiting on the bank to fund the loan for our first house purchase.
Cool. Good luck with the move and the loan process!

So much talk of whiskey....one of those things that I really really miss. :(

Allergies suck.

Rum is the only thing I have an allergy to, which is good and bad.

Sorry to hear about your allergies. If I recall, you have a lot of food allergies. :(

Yeah, I have serious (like can put me in the hospital serious) allergies to fish and wheat. And a bunch of metal sensitivities. So, you know, I'm only allergic to the stuff that's hard to avoid. The wheat allergy developed within the last year, so I'm still adjusting to all the stuff I can't ever have again. And then there's the list of things I'm not supposed to have because of my ear condition, but I occasionally cheat on anyways. Like alcohol (I can at least still have wine and cider) and caffeine. Chocolate is now a once every few months thing for me, and coffee or tea is like maybe twice a year. I'm not supposed to have salt either, but that's just crazy talk.
Oh man, that's really really difficult. How do you deal?

Well, mostly I don't have a choice. I try to just focus on the things I like that I can still have. And not as much eating out. It's just not safe what with the risk of cross contamination and all. The caffeine withdrawal was hard, but it was a choice between giving up caffeine or letting my ear disease progress to the point where they have to do an operation that permanently destroys my hearing. Even I don't like coffee that much. :)

But sometimes I do get bummed out when I can't have something that I really miss. Like whiskey, donuts, or Korean fried chicken. *shrug* But what can I do? I break out in hives if I even touch something that touched something with wheat in it. So I just gotta deal.

You can't have bonchon?!?!?!?

Dear god. CH and I need to get on a treatment, STAT.

CH! Cast..uh..Cure Serious Allergies or something!!!

Is Cure Serious Allergies a 4th level spell? Because I don't know if I can part with all of my preparations of water walk.

My weird food allergy is that certain fresh fruits make my mouth swell up and itch. Apples, pears, and all varieties of stone fruit. But if you cook them, the heat denatures the sugars and I have no problem at all.

No one wants to believe me when I say, "No, I can't eat that apple; I am allergic. Ooh! Can I have a piece of that apple pie? I love apple pie."

It's a real thing, though (called oral allergy syndrome) and I am not alone!

Now I need to consider options between taking baggage, or sending it as through a courier to Poland. It might be cheaper that way.

Sending it as a through carrier is also easier for it to get lost. I would be on the fence about either option. I know just how badly luggage can be handled either way.

If it were winter, I would suggest you wear all of the clothes and show up to the airport that way.

Good news on the teaching job front. Regardless of the school's stupidity, I have a job in January. I may start as a long-term substitute teacher and transfer to certified teacher later in the semester. The long-term subs make the same as starting teachers, so I'm significantly less worried. The school is hurting for math teachers (only 5 teachers for a 5A sized school). The administration would take me on as a long-term sub this fall, but I know my limits. Teaching full-time and finishing school full-time would be impossible.

Congratulations on the job! I hope it is massively long-term. And, I hope that this is the beginning of a long and distinguished career.

Also, according to my high-school English teacher, Jack Daniels is the alcohol of choice for professional teachers.

And I am trying to take care of myself. Easier when all pistons are firing at the same time.

That is a sucky situation. If they ask, explain to them that it's pesticides. It doesn't matter if it's true; most people will accept it and not question it. After all, if you're allergic to pesticides, then foods that have been cleaned and made into pies won't be dangerous ;)

Okay, the following just happened.

U.S. General: "You love to play FTS games and you're up-to-date on the Israel situation, right?"
Me: "Yes. Is this going anywhere?"
U.S. General: "Would you like to help Russia design a video game related to dropping thermonuclear ordnance on key target locations?"
Me: "I am not helping Russia nuke Israel."
U.S. General: "I see. Well, I have to go."
And then he tapdanced out of the room

Apparently, my headache meds and my brain meds have an interesting interaction when I mix them...

Online job application. I see this basic format a lot:

Page 1: contact information
Page 2: copy & paste or upload resume
Pages 3-8: fill out detailed forms that are basically a duplicate of your resume & contact information, just in different boxes. Sometimes a page of prior residences is included.
Pages 9-15: detailed work history, usually for the past five to ten years, each job on a separate page. I've worked a lot of jobs, so this usually takes a couple hours.
Pages 16-22: 30 to 60 "what would you do if X happened" of "how would you rate X quality on a scale" questions
Pages 23-30: government statistical information and consent forms

good morning everyone

yesterday evening I was at a Neil Young Concert in Mainz with my cousin.

damn, that was a great evening,
the show was on an old mole in the River Rhein, water flowing on both sides, the weather was forecast with heavy thunderstorms and hale but not one drop of rain during the show

he played 2 and a half hour, starting with a 30 minutes improv of "down by the river" ( very fitting)
a great show! a bit light on classics but the newer songs delivered live
and I had too much beer

and: Free T-Shirt !!!

Morning.

Five weeks. Five weeks!

Up early but at least not stupid early.

Meh. Headache...

Work slowly-slowly closing... I don't wanna go to work! Mom, write me a note of leave!

Grumble-grumble-work. *yawn*

20 minutes to wash and get dressed.

Head still not all well.

Every time in my life that I have filled out a crazy application like that, it never amounted to anything. The job I have now I got by sending my résumé and then interviewing. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe, the more Byzantine the application, the more Byzantine the HR bureaucracy of the company.
