According to his paperwork he just turned 5.
Huh. He looked younger in the pic. How's it going for you guys?
It is going okay. He has had a little stomach upset a couple of times but no big deal. His Foster Mom suggested Purina One Chicken and Rice but he refuses to eat the brown bits so I am thinking of switching to Iams. He has learned to come around for his harness when it is time for a walk. He is house trained so that is good. He likes trying to get the local squirrels. First time he almost pulled me off my feet. He like a sock with a squeaky toy in it. He will make sure to wake me in the morning for his walk. He is a better alarm clock than an electric one. I am pleased with his reaction to coming home with me.

Yup. Of course I'm told it's going out of style though.
EDIT: I have no idea what was said, I'm just being a wise ass.

Sorry CJ. I don't normally get into those kind of things, but something just tripped my trigger there. :\

You can also examine the areas that were swollen for two tiny red spots that might mark a bite area. Just sayin' - it's better to err on the side of caution with these things. My son woke up about an hour and a half after he went to bed last night, complaining that his face hurt ... when he came downstairs we saw that the poor kid’s right eye and his lower lip were both horribly swollen. Seemed like an allergy of some type, but we couldn’t figure out to what, or why such a localised reaction. Gave him a dose of generic allergy medication and some children’s paracetamol and kept an eye on him for a while as he dozed on the couch. The swelling soon abated and he fell back asleep, so we put him back to bed, and by this morning there was no sign of any swelling or puffiness.
Still can’t figure out what caused it though.
Of for sure, insect or spider bite was one of my first thoughts, but I didn’t see any signs of bites. Also, we got our house sprayed for vermin about 3 months ago, and we haven’t seen anything inside since (the protection is supposed to last for 6 months) – and yes, it was an eco-friendly chemical used for anyone wondering.
We think it might have been a food allergy (and maybe he rubbed his eye with some of it on his hand), as he was saying he had a sore lip after dinner (but no swelling at that stage).

Take care all!
I've got a pile of real life crap on my plate. I thought I had a job lined up for the end of this month (that fell through), but I was trying to handle various things before that. When I'm working I typically work mad hours like 90+ a week so it's all I can do to keep up with anything outside of work. I'm supposed to be starting a project in Utah around the end of Sept. so I've still got a lot on my plate. Diane's youngest grand daughter went back to school, and we are trying to fly her oldest grand daughter back here from Florida to get her into school weeks late. She went to Florida with her Mom, but that has gone poorly due to the Mom's addiction issues. Diane's ongoing neurological issues are worsening, and we've had to drive to Denver for batteries of tests. Finances, tax issues, job hunting, some family and friends needing help, and a bunch of minor stuff are all just kind of adding up. Basically it's just life being interesting. I try to analyze and work each issue withing my larger plan for my goals, but many things remain stubbornly beyond my power to control. I've learned to accept the things I can't control with more grace as I age, but I've always been the go to guy when things need handling and the things I can't fix still irk me particularly when kids are being put in a bad spot.
On the bright side my Dad and sister in College Station are doing well, and my daughter, son in law and grand kids are doing great. I'm really proud of them.

I should be popping in occasionally until my next job starts then I'll be gone for a month or two. It's good to see you back.
I just don't have the time to hang out like I usually do between jobs especially if I let myself get drawn into the political threads (which I inevitably do).

Diane would not be OK with that, and I've seen Diane shoot! ;)
I haven't seen Lindy with a firearm, but I don't she'd be OK with that either.
I do miss Uri though.
BTW, if any FAWTLies are ever near Colorado Springs, and I'm in state I'm happy to do the crash pad or tour guide thing!

I did that whilst I was in the Navy. A bunch of us went while we were in Ft. Lauderdale and got various parts decorated with bits of metal.
I went for the nips. I no longer wear them.
A friend of mine on a work softball team tore out a nipple ring sliding into second. I have some other examples, but I think I'll stick to ink. ;)

I'd like to stop the downward slide into obesity before I get gout or some such stupid malady.
I'm feeling that pain. My hiking trip at 11'000+ ft whipped my ass, and climbing hundreds of feet at work only gets harder as I get older and fatter. I gotta get back in the gym.

For what it's worth I had a friend here in the Springs with H1N1 who was in a coma for a month and a half. He pulled through and lived well even after they told his wife to plan for the worst.

I've barely gotten fixes done from Irene, I'm still working on what I had to drop for hurricane preperations, I was way behind before that. And the hospital recertification inspection is in less than a month.
Boss calls me in this morning.
"I need you to get creative and make me a display quality prescription drop-off box to mount on the glass wall of the pharmacy. But don't use wood. Meet with the pharmacist and get back with me."
WTF!?!?!? I'm a carpenter not a miracle worker!
Sigh.
At least I'm a valued employee.
Oh, and GOOD MORNING FAWTLy!
Carry on, b*#++in' over.

I will keep that in mind the next time I am once again in the area.
