I have an idea for either a halfling or elven daredevil type of character for pathfinder.

My first inclination is to make a rogue of some sort, but then they'll probably just end up dead.

Brawler, maybe?

To mimic daredevil from DC Comics you'd need to be blind, which pathfinder imposes heavy penalties on. To get blindsense you need 9th level synthesist summoner, blindsight requires 11.

Theres sensing on bracers of armor, but it's a +3 bonus to add, and you don't get to activate it by closing your eyes.

The last time I tried to do the Daredevil thing I had my bat familiar be my eyes.

RE: West coast and parking.

We lived on a small side street next to Sam's Club, plenty of free parking up and down the street. I honestly can't tell you how many people would just park in the middle of street, and just walk over to Sam's Club.

And, if you call the police, they'd just say "sir, we have real issues we're dealing with" and hang up (keep in mind, this is the non emergency number I called).

In your case under Singapore laws a police report would have to be made. Section 84 of Road Traffic Act 1961.

84.—(1) Where an accident occurs owing to the presence of a motor vehicle on a road and the accident results in damage or injury to any person, vehicle, structure or animal, the driver of the motor vehicle must stop the motor vehicle and the driver must do such of the following as may be applicable:

(a) the driver if requested to do so by any person at the scene of the accident having reasonable grounds for so requesting the driver’s particulars, provide the driver’s particulars to that person;

(b) if no person referred to in paragraph (a) is present at the scene of the accident, the driver must take reasonable steps to inform the owner (if any) of the damaged vehicle or structure, or injured animal, of the damage or injury caused to the vehicle, structure or animal (as the case may be), and provide that owner with the driver’s particulars.

(2) The driver of the motor vehicle referred to in subsection (1) must report the accident at a police station or to a police officer as soon as reasonably practicable within 24 hours after the accident unless either of the following has occurred:

(a) the driver has provided the driver’s particulars to a person referred to in subsection (1)(a);

(b) the owner referred to in subsection (1)(b) has contacted the driver.

Around here the laws are similar, and the behavior is pretty much:

(a) If you're nice and you leave a note, the owner usually says, "Oh, don't worry about it; my car was already pretty beat up anyway," and everyone goes off happy. Yeah, sometimes the owner of the parked car gets uppity and demands reimbursement, but that's unusual, especially among natives.

(b) If you're a jerk and you slink off without leaving a note, the neighbors get uppity and everyone does their best to turn you in.

Pretty much the police never get involved unless you drive off. One of those California, "Don't be a jerk" things...

Do you guys do the Hotel California thing?

Apparently not; the link doesn't work for me.

The Exchange

Trying again.

Oooh! Neat! "This video contains content from UMPG Publishing, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

EDIT: Anyway, looks like you're trying to link the Eagles' Hotel California.

Yep. That's every hotel here. Ever. You'll never see CY again after his visit.

The Exchange

Oh I'm sorry. Let me try again

The Exchange

Yes I was trying to link Hotel California from Eagles. OMG we'll never see CY again after his visit! Arrrrghhh!

It's like everyone who learns to play guitar learns to play this song.

Well, people tend to forget that California is 1000 km long, 300 km wide, with a population of over 30 million and climates ranging from glaciers to one of the deadliest deserts on the planet.

So there really is no "one" California culture. Southern California has one. Northern California has another. We dislike each other intently. Central California has a third. They dislike both of us.

It's an interesting state. But even more so than pretty much any other state, trying to categorize California is foolhardy.

Anyway random thoughts. I may be thinking of running a new AP soon, probably Ironfang invasion via PBP,once I'm done with Strange Aeons(we're in final book Part 1 out of 4). I want my game to be fast paced and for more details on build rules - not fully finalized, please see my GM alias.

I've already promised John a spot and I'm looking for 3 more players. So I thought I'd open the floor to peeps here first, hopefully so I don't get players that are rude to me or piss me off. I hate public recruitments because there are so many jerks out there...and at the end of the day I don't like dealing with strange humans.

Please feel free to look at my GM alias for GM style, and look through all the old campaigns I've run. I want to have things as open as possible so you all know what you're signing into.

Is that out for xbone? I got super excited about it.

Not yet, just Steam. If you were a Kickstarter backer, you should've been sent a temporary Steam code that will stay active until it releases on consoles, then remove the game from your Steam library.

Hey now, not only did we live in Seattle, we drove the length of the west coast and then back up through the middle, so we'll be just fine. And being experienced west coast travellers we have, like, ten alibis, each one more improbable then the last ("the butterfly did it!" "I have brain weevils" "I was with Elvis" "It wasn't me, it was Billy Baldwin!" "Toe madness!" "I'm being framed by PITA!" "Are you sure it wasn't Billy Baldwin!" "Full moon" "Are you sure this isn't Extreme Home Makeover" "Shit happens").

It's always Billy Baldwin.

Minor Point of Interest:

The blind Daredevil character from the comics is a Marvel property, and not DC.

I blame Ben Affleck.

The Exchange

I apologize for the screw up. I always thought that DC had darker storylines so I associated daredevil(which was rather dark) with DC rather then Marvel.

And to be honest all I know about Marvel and DC worlds are what superhero movies then have come out that I happen to watch.

I have not read any Marvel nor DC comics. The time lines gave me a headache, not to mention that my parents did not allow me to read comics when I was a kitten, saying it was not good for my language skills.

DC used to have bright sunny to easy story lines and marvel was the darker one but the movies took a different route.

Ben affleck was not the problem with that movie. (I blame the writers!) It was still better then Elektra. Elektra had to be the worst super hero movie I've ever seen... well wait I've seen cat woman.

To be honest, the comic book, movie, or whatever is on Netflix never came to mind.

No idea even what that is, I just meant a daredevil, obviously more renaissancey then a modern day daredevil, but definitely not blind.

Horns are okay.

So more Evel Knieval than comic book "hero"? You're wanting to jump over a dozen mules while on horseback, and then wingwalk on a spinning dragon. Maybe try to be catapulted over a canyon. Things like that?

Although, I can't help but point out I could make Marvel's Daredevil in Starfinder. He might be an ooze or a militant jellyfish, but he would have blindsense, so...

People who ask late sleepers what time they got up aren't actually interested. They just want to feel morally superior because of their more conventional sleep schedule.

Maybe you can't judge a book by its cover, but you can judge a YouTuber by their video thumbnails.

I think you're fine, Gran. It's just whether you have an issue with my lawful anality and rather strict following of the AP in question.

I'll say up front I may alter monster tactics/spell selection.

Hmm. I'm sure some of my family may be extroverts, but they don't go for parties either.

I don't have a problem with sticking to the rules, I try to do so myself. But I might piss you off. Anyways, I don't PBP. To me, the fun of gaming is sitting around a table with my friends.

Camping is voluntary, temporary homelessness.

Trying to lose at rock, paper, scissors is just as hard as trying to win.

Fair enough. I don't game in person that much because of time constraints. Games tend to run very late so my parents get pissed off.

Besides I have a rather soft voice so people tend to talk over me and don't get what I am saying. Also when I get excited I talk faster which makes things worse. In PBP well...what you read is what you get.

They say the you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, and yet there is an entire industry of cover artists who are trying to get you to do just that.

Planting a flower garden is like orchestrating a really really slow fireworks show.

Volleyball is a really hardcore game of Hot Potato.

Mort --

I *felt* that was your reasoning for the association -- the movie did have more of a "grimdark" feel to it. :)

Just thought I'd float the data point; no apology needed! :D

Yes, Elektra *was* bad. Except it had more of Jennifer Garner in it than Daredevil. lol

Perhaps a swashbuckler?

I'd say growing a coral reef is like orchestrating a really really slow fireworks show. Except the fireworks(spores) occur at night, when you're asleep so you'll probably not ever see them.

I should have verified the facts and not made assumptions before I posted. That falls under carelessness and sloth, and that's how fake news is spread.

*casts purge chaos, then atonement on Mort*

EDIT: You already supplied the somatic component for the first spell, but we're gonna have to make some arrangements to get the material components replaced -- that'll be 1000 boxes of white cheddar Cheez-its, please . . . .

The Exchange

Ahhh that felt so good! *Purrs at Syrus*

*Pays Syrus 4000 gp for spellcasting services*

*Passes Syrus 1000 boxes of white cheddar Cheez-its*

Sorry I can't find purge chaos on d20pfsrd or archive of nethys so I don't know what level spell it is. I hope that covered the spellcasting services costs, if not please let me know.

I haven't seen Cheez-its here actually.

It's not a published spell -- I just made up the name on the fly. :D

Team Chaos!!! ;)

Are you allowed to use Chaos to Purge Chaos?

Its like fighting fire with fire right?
