So, random gripe-of-the-morning.

There's an open-air Farmer's Market right near our house... Google Maps puts it about 500 feet away as the crow flies. They have live music every week. Sometimes it's reasonable, sometimes it's deafening.

This morning I'm sitting in my living room with all the windows closed and not only can I hear the music, but I can understand the lyrics and identify the song.

WTF, people? I cannot emphasize how strongly I despise the idea that ambient music must now be so loud that you have to yell at the top of your lungs to be heard over it.

I don't think they understand what "background" means.

EDIT: Yep. Gonna stroll over there nekkid and give them a piece of my mind.

I am most certainly not Kiff. He puts up with a hell of a lot more than I would tolerate, poor guy.

Things I did yesterday:
Laid in bed in a total daze of fever, nausea, and lack of energy.
Watched the first season of The Crown. Yes, the whole season. It was too much trouble to tell Netflix to stop playing.
Made significant progress on the sweater I am knitting for the kidlet. Not sure what it says about me that even when I am too tired to operate a remote control and feel like I am dying that I still keep knitting, but there you have it. :P

Doing much better today. I attended to personal hygiene and put on actual non pajama clothes and everything. I’m hoping that pretending to be healthy will help me recover faster. ;)

I find a state of denial is essential to recovery.

That and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Spongebob Squarepants.

Happy birthday (and celebration(s) thereof), Drejk!
(I though you said it was Tuesday, but I’m too lazy to go back and check, and someone mentioned “belated” so I don’t know - but Infigure, “close enough!” ... I hope!)

If I wasn't working or trying to concentrate on something, depending on what song they were playing, I might not mind. If you wanna play all of linkin park's songs loudly enough that I can hear, I'm cool. Just saved me the trouble of turning on you tube.

If it isn't and it's something I don't care for - then yes I'll march up to them to complain about their atrocious taste in music.

NH - Get some noise cancelling earphones, then plug in your own favorite music to drown out the noise? =)

Even in the office my colleagues play Let it go from frozen close enough to me that I can identify it, and I don't mind a whit.

I obviously didn't write with enough clarity.

It's not that I can hear it in my house that bothers me -- I have two teenage boys. Unless you run a marching band through my living room, I can ignore pretty much anything.

It's that I go to the farmer's market and I can't even hear the vendors speaking to me because the music's so loud, and then I see happy little kids in the front row, 5-10' away from the speakers and I think about the damage that's being done to their hearing, and I wonder who the heck could possibly enjoy "ambient music" that's so loud that you can't hold a conversation (even yelling) with the person across the counter from you...

I cant believe I just ate whole grain spaghetti after boiling it in hot water and salt. No other condiments. I like the taste ><

Now that's weird.

The Exchange

Yeah if the vendor can't hear you on what order you want, then yes you have a problem, you need to complain.

Oh also, I cooked that whole grain spaghetti with a tomato based sauce, I don't think it's the right fit, since the tomato covered the wheat taste of the spaghetti. I think the better way to deal with it is to cook it like ramen, with some kind of tonkutsu base.

I'd have liked to use the thick lobster broth of Lobster King ramen for the spaghetti, but obviously the restaurant isn't going to sell me their prize winning broth....

Ajisen ramen sells broth but not Lobster King.

Lucky. Catan only lasted about 15 minutes, as no-one knew what the f$&% was going on, then they decided to play euchre. They still had no clue what was going on. They played (and drank) until 5:00. Then they all said something along the lines of "Well, I guess I'll get about an hour of sleep, then wake up and drive the 5 hours home." Stupid f*$&ers.

Somehow I got the same quest in Hearthstone two days in a row, play 50 Priest cards. Easy to do, but boring.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah. I am hating the solo for the priest I keep getting the trap boss for the second to last and It kills me in like 3 turns. Play one minion 3 traps go off and it gets 3 3/3 saw tokens just terrible and frustrating especially since I'm like oh I have a good deck here.

I still havent gotten further then druid, pally(done at BF's place) and mage. Let me get my dailies done then I'll see if I want to watch HOMM6 lets play or try to dungeon run. I'll probably watch the lets plays.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

One thing that might help mort is some of the decks you can't beat or at least can't beat easily by conventional means. you have to figure out the gimmick or right way to play to beat them.

And yes! I did it! I finished mage dungeon run while waiting for my dailies to reset!

The additional spell damage and the enemy minions cost one more did the trick.

My ending treasures were amulet of domination, glyph of warding, robe of magi and loyal sidekick.

Spell damage to kill, then enemy minions cost one more to give me time so I don't get swarmed under by Winnie decks!

Now to do 50 hunter card daily. Easy peasy since I have a beast face hunter for that.

Very often when they fry chicken to get it crispy, it gets too greasy for health conscious me, who has actually managed to live on a diet of salads and yong tau foo soup.

My system can't take the oil these days.
