Crookshanks is excited to be able to take it school to dissect.

Is she interested in Electronics?

Edit: *Gets dressed (stupid page break. Besides, I've got places to go today. And it's cold here)*

Oh yes, she's thirteen and considers herself a nerd, so she's interested in everything.

In fact before work I have to drop her off at a gaming birthday party.

Does she have the book Make: Electronics? If not, get it for her. It's a good introduction to the field.

The author's name is Richard Pratt, if I'm not too mistaken. And, if there's still a Radio Shack near you, get her a 300-in-1 Project kit. The one with the White Breadboard in its center.

Okay: so, if you love picking out tiny bones, make sure to pick up Bumblebee canned salmon! Loooooots of tiny bones! Tons of 'em! Exactly what you're looking for!

(The tall kind; I have no idea about the smaller cans.)

Unrelated: I've slept so much the past several days. So much. Naps. Sleep late. Need more. Boooooo. I can't be nodding off while sitting at the computer, body, I got stuff to do!

EDIT: "slept" not "spelt" - I dunno

There's me and Dave working Brute Squad, but there's also 6 things incomplete, and he's training someone, so his high energy incompetence is magnified.

And then you have 6-8 new cashiers.

Hilarious!

Hm. I might be stuck somewhere I can't afford the time to be (a car wash is going slower than ideal and I can't get out of line). :/

At 6:45, when I got home from Wal-Mart, I found my mother on the kitchen floor, probably from low blood sugar. Gave her some grapes to try to get her levels up.

Now dessert and more jazz!

oh my word, dude! Let us know if she's okay!

She's doing a bit better, now. I guess this is the reason why my youngest brother Lee asked me to stay here before he got married. *sigh* The things that happen while I'm away.

And: show part 3

Apparently the state university won at Sportsball.

I know this because people are more drunk then usual, and they won't f&&*ing shut up about it.

Apparently, my mother took her afternoon dose of Insulin, and couldn't get her blood sugar level up quick enough. She ate almost a branch full of grapes, and a bowl of stew, so she's coherent now. She's going to skip her night Insulin.

My Eldest read the clue for pur table!

Aaaaaaand votes are in! XD

Your mother needs to report to the doctor about the insulin episode. Maybe the dosage needs to be reduced/batch was faulty etc.

She keeps a daily log of her sugar levels. I myself made a note about her episode. I'll tell her to call her PCP Monday morning. Thanks, Mort.

And we're home!

... and the kids are suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper asleep.

Great show, great family, good food, and lots of fun!

(Well, Mommy isn't home, yet - she still has to clean up/work a while, yet...)

Thanks, Sharoth. She's okay right now. She's asleep, but asked me to check up on her every so often tonight. Tired, now, and going to get some sleep soon. Today has been interesting (not in a good way) and not something I'd care to repeat anytime soon. Keep us updated on your family.

Six things to do but none gets done guy: I'm sorry Captain Yesterday, but I failed you!

Me (confused at first): What? Oh! I didn't care about any of that, I was just keeping you busy, so, good job.

Yeah, you don't tell the General her youngest child being bullied is his fault for not telling a teacher.

That didn't go over very well.

Gotta say, one of the nice things about living in "liberal paradise" is that they put down bullies fast, and it doesn't matter who reports it. Parents are called in, child is asked how they're going to modify their behavior (not "if", but "how"), and they get put on the "bully watch list".

It's effective -- it's a totally different school than the one I went to 35 years ago...

Eh. I did all my schooling in the SF Bay Area, and we never did anything about bullying except suspend everyone involved anytime physical contact occurred. No physical contact and the bully claims not to have said those things? No proof, no staff action. That was in the second half of the Oughts.

The stupid thing was, if a bully walks up and hits you, you're guaranteed to be suspended no matter what you do, so you have no reason not to escalate to further violence. Why refuse to hit back and just take the hits when you're going to be punished regardless? That's why I bounced a kid's head off a doorframe once. I literally got the same punishment I'd have gotten if I hadn't done it. It wasn't even necessary to defend myself, I just wanted to do some damage.
