The kind of day I’m having: I woke up with a dislocated thumb and a black eye. It sounds like a more exciting night than it was. My thumb popped when I reached for my alarm clock and I had to put it back to rights. (Ow!) And the eye is because my sinuses are so swollen I literally got a black eye from the inside. Pretty impressive shiner too. My husband keeps hovering because he’s afraid I’m going to faint again. (I made the mistake of trying to cook last night and just as finished clearing dirty dishes off the stove I turned around and hello, floor, we meet again). Pretty sick, very behind on my word count, and not able to manage basic chores. Kidlet is sick too which is brilliant because it’s the last week before exams so it’s basically all about helping him fake well well enough that he doesn’t get sent home as there is no time to make up work.
Argh! So tired of my body being all broken and out of order! >:(

Edit: well, of course, I was overheated from the fever.... :P

And I'll just throw it out there for TL: We loved Seven Deadly Sins. All kinds of mystery and interplay and whatnot. I hope they can keep it up.

(Still weeping that a different studio that is rather infamous for ruining anime somehow got their hands on One Punch Man season 2.)

You probably shouldn't watch Big Mouth. Then again, nobody should really watch that show without signing a waiver first.

Oh, no. Everything you said made me certain I'd never watch it on purpose. Thanks for the review!

I'm skeptical.

I had to open the windows when it hit 65. It was getting too hot for me.

Sounds awesome!

... and yet here I shiver at home because... my hands and feet are cold. Dang it, Florida!

Wrapping up the day a lesson ahead of schedule, yet scratching my head as to why screenshots are so hard. Our guidelines are pretty simple:

  • Show context so people know what they're looking at
  • Don't change the aspect ratio
  • Don't shrink below 80% unless you don't mind if the screenshot is illegible

  • Seems obvious enough. Yet the #1 time-consumer today was fixing skewed screenshots (not as bad as my other course, where someone was routinely stretching them to 50% by 250% to make them all the same width, no matter how short they had to be). The #2 time-consumer was taking new screenshots because the existing one was just a floating box with a list of words in it. The whole, "Er, where in the application would I find this?" apparently never occurred to the author.

This is particularly aggravating because this entire course was my baby two releases ago. So in ONE revision someone managed to mess up about 20% of the screenshots.

Impressive how hard people will work to screw up your stuff...

Oh, lynora, I'm so sorry. I'm in a much lesser boat of simply being unable to do chores.

I'd hug you, but that might irritate my wife (considering the circumstances), and also I'm sick and don't want to get you sicker.

Sucks when you wake and think, "Yesh, all done!" And the day quickly turns that to, "Haha, nevermind, you're still sick."

Which I've no doubt you'll also be going through. Ugh. You're in my prayers!

And then that Dragon Ball character wanders into Seven Deadly Sins.

Oh, definitely love it in many ways.

I think Meliodas is over-the-top (to an almost disturbing degree) with Liz, and Elaine's appearance is squicky*, but...

... it's a fantastic show. The drama, character arcs, and intrigue are top notch. It also helps that I actually recognize several abilities that are literally taken directly out of Final Fantasy Tactics (assassin's paralysis, archer's "charged" shots, and more; while all are altered, many of the magical abilities are actually more or less just "scaled up" and/or "rules lite" versions of that game's powers and abilities).

    * Not because she's squicky, but because she looks like a little girl, even though she's millennia old, even though that seems to have been an established that's basically what immortals look like outside of that context.

Well, she is Catholic, the vow is technically called "chastity, not "abstinence," sooooo.

She is not - well, to the best of my knowledge! - a nun, though her mom used to think she might become one, considering she used to love to volunteer for stuff.

both the concepts of chastity and abstinence make my skin crawl. Weapons dedicated to such concepts would probably do extra damage to me. I would not be able to handle them without being sickened, possibly even nauseated.
