Tiny T-Rex's flu or whatever lasting through the weekend was not a fun development.

Poor little guy!

Anyway, I'm pretty burned out on all the cold f*!%ing rain without any sun.

Pea Bear has volunteered (us) to make Pink Stuff and sugar cookies shaped like unicorn heads for her class on Tuesday.

We found out a little bit ago.

Frozen chicken fried rice, frozen mozzarella sticks, and cheap chardonnay left over from Halloween. Dinner of champions.

Be sure to get some of that red gel topping so they look like severed unicorn heads... gotta keep up appearances, y'know...

I remember doing that to my dad, like, 20 years ago.

Sounds a bit like my dinner last night, without the alcohol. At least until I got home. Two grilled stuffed burritos from Taco Bell, or "Taco Hell," as you prefer. And their "new' Diablo sauce is a let-down. It's nowhere near as spicy as Sriracha sauce. Spent some of my Tekko anime money buying a final purchase of tools and parts from the Radio Shack I purchased from the most.

I don't really care for sriracha it just numbs my tongue and I don't care for the flavor.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just comparing the heat of various toppings. The Diablo sauce is just an extra-strength Chili sauce. The kind of sauce that I'd add to canned chili to spice it up a bit.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah you can't really expect a chain to have anything to spicy they worry to much about a light weight getting into it and then suing or some such. I will say Wendy ghost pepper stuff they had for a little while was reasonably hot.

Sri racha is questionable. The much better offering is Hoi sin sauce.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'll have to try that.

It works well with rice dishes.

The problem with Sri Ra Cha is that it has its place as a topping for many Asian dishes, and goes well on breaded foods (chicken nuggets, fish sticks, etc.), but otherwise its flavor is too strong to make it a useful ingredient in adding heat.

Yet everyone is now using it for everything. I have had some truly magnificent "hot" chocolates: A wasabi-infused chocolate cake, habanero dark chocolate. But some <expletive deleted> tried to make Sri Ra Cha caramels. They were terrible, of course, because the flavor of the Sri Ra Cha utterly overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the caramel.

A motto more U.S. chefs need to embrace: "Just because it's popular, doesn't mean you should put it in everthing."

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. NobodysWife was bedridden yesterday, and Impus Major's had a nasty cough all week. I've been suffering the long-term mild version of whatever they had, and it's even less fun being unable to justify missing any more days of work (took last Monday off) while still feeling moderately crappy...

I've been saying the same thing about cilantro for years.

For whatever reason, in the Midwest if you label something as "Mexican" it absolutely must be drowned in cilantro. They even garnish cocktails with it.

And I just got done getting over an ear infection and sinus infection. So yeah, I'm ready for some sun and warmth (tbd). :-)

You and NobodysWife would get along quite well. She *hates* cilantro with a passion, and we had our own, "Everything MUST have cilantro" movement around here a few years ago...

I don't like hot sauce, but my dad loves it. He won't touch Thai hot sauces, though. Says they have no real flavor o background to them, and are just hot to be hot.

Everybody says Taco Bell is horrible, but I'm neutral towards it. Back when it was cheap, I ate it with some regularity, but now it's really expensive for what you get. Like, I know I live in San Francisco and things just cost a lot of money here, but Taco Bell seems to hit my wallet harder than other fast food.

Being from California and overly familiar with Calmex, cilantro is a staple spice in the pantry, but that just sounds over the top.

I've heard of Belgian wheat beer with coriander (seeds) in it... Didn't like it, but I'm not much of a chap for wheat beers

It appears in Indian/Middle Eastern cooking a fair bit, too, which is where I've come across it. Mexican food isn't much of a thing around these parts.

So, gotta vent to a sympathetic crowd...
...I figured these guys had two months, did all the labs, had orders to test everything and update the screenshots...

...apparently they sat around with their thumbs up their a**** for TWO WHOLE MONTHS!

I just spent 3 hours this morning cleaning up a lesson that hasn't been touched in 4 years, including screenshots of nonexistent functionality, statements that are patently untrue, and an entire section on stuff that was end-of-lifed 3 releases ago.

The worst part of it? I know that I'm not going to be at this job forever, so I had a complete set of documentation on how to reproduce every example presented in the entire course. When we were on a conference call with them, I mentioned the existence of this documentation, and offered it to them. Their response? "No, we've been working with the PMs, and they're providing us with examples, so we're good."

And yet the examples they have in the stuff they handed off is the stuff I wrote 6 years ago...

A few years ago, I got Swine flu in January.

I spent five days with a temp of around 103 and learned you can in fact throw up and have diarrhea at the same time.

So, thanks for being insensitive.

Ugh this is turning into the work week from hell. Yesterday, boss and the ONE STAFF MEMBER we have left got into it because he accused her of violating the dress code and went about it in a very unclear fashion, and wanted to write her up for leaving the premises without permission when she went to get something more work appropriate. Now today she's forgotten her keys at home and boss is LIVID, wanting me to write her up immediately and telling me not to talk to her about our conversation and so on..*sigh*

I guess this is why they pay me the big bucks?

Also Cy, my phone autocorrected several words in my post to "summer".

HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS
