I have been officially registered as a GM in the RPG department for this year's Tekko. I'll print it out the weekend before the show.

Yes, all true, but "My best friend" typically equates to "someone I see socially at least once a month or who actually answers my texts/emails/calls". At least if you're over thirty. Forty. Whatever. Not sure about the youngsters.

I would say it can be true, but it is not universally true - for example, I never suggest coffee, because I don't like it.

Similarly, the translation skips a lot of intended subtlety - fine can, in fact, mean fine, though it is also often used when things are bad because of an attempt at the jolly British stoicism we've culturally kind of inherited, but only a little and only some times (like using fine when things are not fine).

Hilarious is surprising, but it's also got to be funny - if it's unpleasant, it might be "hilarious" but only in a strictly sarcastic way (such as with a flat, monotone voice in real life). Otherwise, it's often just "surprising" - depending on the person.

Americans can exaggerate for the purpose of communication and emphasis above standard definitions, but generally only for sharing emotions and being enthusiastic about things; but it can and often is bucked in stanadard communication, so.

Basically, it can be correct, but misses the cultural nuance that any such chart fails to channel. :)

I'm so bored with this day off. Like, "So bored I called work and ascertained it's an understaffed s@~%show because somebody called out" bored. Least now I'll have something to do and another $50 or so in the bank.

We had to cancel a planned Dresden Files session because of one players being unable to attend. We could not finish the already started Star Wars session because he plays in it as well, so we started a new Star Wars session that includes the remaining three members of that party in a prequel showing how we have met...

Just leaving school and there is a husky meet-up going on in the dog park for the chichi condos across the street. What kind of colossal a!%@~*@* keeps a husky in a condominium in a city?

Actually a lot of large breed dogs are particularly suited to apartment living because they mostly prefer to lounge rather than run around and play. And some smaller breeds are poorly suited to apartment living because they need more exercise than their owners can give them. Don't jump to conclusions because of a dog's size when breed is even more important of a factor.

What lynora said.

Big dogs are not necessarily outdoor dogs. It's an ugly misconception.

But just so we're clear, we are not talking about blue collar apartments. 4 months rent at this place is my take-home pay for a *year*. I checked.

It's a dog's life, I guess.

Apparently not a bad life. Right across from a dog park, wealthy owners who can probably afford high end kibble and dog walkers. ;P

Not trying to pick on you lisamarlene. I think you're a perfectly lovely person. I just don't agree with your opinion this time. Just wanted to clarify so feelings don't get hurt, which is definitely not my aim.

Yea, but huskies are pretty high energy dogs. Running and playing is kinda their thing.

Not saying their living situation there isn't suiting them or anything, because I don't know enough. Just that huskies are dogs that need a ton of exercise.

Good point Rosita. I don't know that much about huskies. I think it mostly put my back up because I used to be the person living in an apartment with a big dog. She was a Great Pyrenees and her main ambition in life was to be a well fed rug. :P But I have some bad memories of people jumping to judgment about the situation without all the info and reacted accordingly. So apologies if I came across as rude. We all have those random things that just really get our goat and this is one of mine.

The Titanic does it for me.

Thankyou for your help.

As a reward, would you like a professionlal boner to have and to hold?

That's very kind of you, but I already have one.

O well. Realize your dormant temper, in that case, be lovelier to love, don't take any wooden money and remember the Alamo.

I've been to the Alamo. I can't imagine anything important happened there.

Speaking of important places!

I get to go to the high end candy store downtown to find chocolates wrapped in gold foil that wasn't made in China so my kids continue to believe in leprechauns.

On account of my Irish grandmother's tradition. Which was started before 98% of all candy was made in China.

A bus did not arrive until 755.

Got to work at 850 am.

It would have been faster to walk.

Have sent in a complaint to the mta.

Trying not to kill the first person who pisses me off.

Make sure it's someone well liked, that's what I would do.

Bonus points if it serves no purpose whatsoever.

Ilynora, I totally agree with your first point (note that I said "apartment dog" and not "small dog") but I've *had* huskies, malamutes, etc. and, as Rosita pointed out, apartment dogs they are not. And rich a*!#%#%s who buy them and keep them in apartments are still a$&@%#+s.
I'm an a!#&~!&, too. I freely admit it.
But I direct my assholia at other humans, demihumans and humanoids, not at four-legged critters.

The only dog owners that annoy me are the ones that let their dog s*~$ all over the yard and then hire a mowing service but still leave the s#+$ all over the yard. They know what day they're coming and yet they always act like "oh my gosh, I wasn't expecting you today. If only I had a chance to clean up first. Well, g'day!".

And who gets to try to scrape dog s*#+ off their shoes all day. Not them.

Or people who leave them in kennels all the damn time (to be clear, I'm talking outdoor kennels. Hunting dogs are not treated as well as the Disney cartoons would have you believe).

Turns out where I work is the place to find chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil not made in China.

Not sure how I feel about this development...

I have a question for those with your own threads.

How time consuming is it?

Would having a Baron Arem Heshvaun's Star Wars thread prove to be a time black hole ?

I can barley read all of Tacticslion's posts on this thread alone, having a stand alone thread seems like a time consuming wasteland.

Mmmm. Refreshing Spite. ;P

And next time I'm feeling snippy I will try and remind myself to wait and post it later, when I'll totally forget about it because it wasn't actually that important to get upset about in the first place...
