Happy birthday, Lynora!

Hope the knitting goes well :)

EDIT: You might start with a pair of trousers for me, should you wish.

I can wait.

Get out, get out, of Colonel Longears' Droopy Dragoons! Bare thighs = horrible saddle sores and frostbite, and I'm damned if I'm salving you.

Happy Birthday, lynora! I'm glad you exist! And are back!

lisamarlene, we're glad you're hanging with us - and feel free to creep as much as you like, 'cause that seems to be a standard internet thing.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand you should probably know the FaWtL rules:

- no sports discussion
- no religion discussion
- no politics discussion
- post at the top of the page presumes the poster is naked until and unless otherwise noted (sorry - lllllooooooot of naked people around here)
- FreeholdDM, the deviant and miscreant that he is, is somehow our moral guardian, along with his allies Fritzy and someone else I'm forgetting: they fire flaming bikes at us when we break the rules

Other than that, post on literally anything else you want (unless it's explicitly going to cause problems, 'cause... you know). :D

It's worth noting: this isn't an insult, not really; it's more a "statement of facts" kind of thing that FHDM himself notes.

Besides, the guy actively hates all things Joss Whedon without even permitting the possibility of it being good on principle, and gladly and freely sips haterade on all sorts of things besides (Forgotten Realms - despite having an avatar of Eilistraee as his avatar -, Atlon Brown, non-pervy-or-mech/Gundam anime*, and many, many others).

I mean, what else are you going to call a guy who hates Firefly?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know I heart you, FHDM, my dude. ( _)=mm=(^_^ )

* This is, admittedly, an exaggeration. He also probably allows anime that's only risque as well. >.>

How in the flaming hell can someone hate Firefly and Alton Brown?

What an effing buzzkill.
Probably drinks IPA.

Although the Forgotten Realms quirk I can understand, because yeesh.
Unless, you know, you're a tween with drow fantasies and it's your personal version of Penthouse.

My present this year was a yarn shopping spree and some of it arrived today, so double yay! :)

lynora. Missed you terribly. Happy birthday!

I hate Firefly (so much shakes fist) and Alton Brown (though not as much shakes thumb).

Easily.

I drink naught but the darkest, richest stouts.

So, my brain is pretty f+%*ing useless tonight. Went to pick up supper, on account of a sick kid at home and another at play rehearsal and the General at work all day. Been wandering around the store for fifteen minutes and all I have are four packages of Hot Pockets and coffee creamer. :-/

To the upscale grocery store! (Not Whole Foods).

Didn't get the job.

They have offered me a part time office manager position, but I am not going to take it - too many benefits at the day job to trade in for that, not to mention pay. Ah well. Maybe next time.

Boo for bad offer! Yay for optimism! Double yay for dark stout!

And we know that Freehold likes:
(1) Presents
(2) Women

Have we found anything else yet?

EDIT: Oh, right! Hurling flaming bikes at NobodysHome! I KNEW there was a third...

I was going to make a joke about kissing Zon-Kuthon. But I decided against it.

Scamusing is the iteration you're looking for.

Not to be confused with Skamusing, the mixture of Ska and physical comedy.

Yeah, I logged onto Paizo to look up some random mechanics rules for the kids' game (they just leveled up to 3), then remembered that you said you were going to have to write an obit for Nora, then found myself stalking your post list, which got creepy.

That's not creepy, I do it all the time! Wait, I mean, uh...

That sucks, and I know how much it can hurt, but I'm really glad you gave it a go, and you should be, too!

And, in time, I'm sure you'll find what you're most looking for!

I'm with you, my friend - I've been there, for sure!

Lisamarlene,

Freehold also loves Y-Wings. Start talking about how Y-Wings are the best fighters in Star Wars, and you'll have his full, undivided attention.

For Example: Hey Freehold, what did you think about how the Y-Wings took out that Star Destroyer in Rogue One? Wasn't it AWESOME?!!!

OP-1 to Fritzy. Fire Mission. Adjust Fire smoke, Grid GK13573-24648. Joss Whedon in open. Flaming Schwinns in effect. Over.

There is nothing amusing about ska and physical comedy, although slapping Reel Big Fish might be fun for a short amount of time.

I like stout. A lot.

I also like to drink a mixture of pale ale and stout, which means that I, too, am a deviant and miscreant ;)

Ah, nothing like that day when your manager says, "OK, this is a solid course, but can you add a lot of graphics to make it more eye-catching and 'prettier'?"

I am not an artist. So much so that artists weep uncontrollably when they are in my general aura of incompetence. I can grab the approved art, and put in the little bubbles and arrows and so forth, and people ask, "Why are the servers making war on the cloud?"

So it's going to be an... interesting day...

Just copy and paste a bunch of free domain graphics and pictures.

"I have no idea what this program does, but as long as Brad Pitt is giving a thumbs up, it must be good!"

That's the problem -- the legal department won't let us use free domain stuff, so we *have* to use stuff from our internal repository, which is... less-than-robust...

I think that I am going to have to stop reading the news for a few days. It's messing with my anxiety and that interferes with my ability to actually get things done. So basically the constant war between wanting to be well informed and needing to not hide under the covers all the time because there is too much awful in the world. It's the same reason that Pinterest is the only social media I still use. It's more like not-so-social media. Social media for introverts who like interaction at a slight remove. Less arguing and more look, I made a cute thing! Here are the directions so you too can make the cute thing! :P

Maybe it's just because I work from home in a quiet neighborhood, but has anyone else ever been tempted to go outside and offer unsolicited advice to someone walking outside having a "private" conversation so loud that you can hear all the gory details from 40 feet away, THROUGH A WALL?

Autocorrect changed "Pinterest" to "lingerie"

But... I don't know if I want to change it back. Everyone seems more interested in discussing lingerie.

I live in NY. It's a part of life here.

In fact, I was once on Overheard in NY. I wonder if that site is still up.

Aye.

At least when I am not resisting desire to yell "Who fracking cares?!" every few sentences...

I found it extra funny because I sew, and I have a lot of pins of clothing patterns, including how to make your own lingerie. :D

Maybe it's just "Grumpy Old Man" syndrome.

But I'd really prefer not to hear about your medical treatments nor your investments nor how spoiled and rotten your nieces and nephews are while I'm trying to work.

And the "parent information night" on Wednesday was just one of those things I'll never understand. It was bad enough that around 1/3 of all the parents were obviously sitting there playing games on their smart phones during the presentation, but over half a dozen calls came in during the one-hour session.

I still stand by my mantra: "If your life is so intense that you cannot go without taking a phone call for an hour, then I am truly sorry for you."

Lisamarlene, you'll also notice that Captain Yesterday has so many aliases, that he could, if he wanted, have a thread with just him and all of his aliases arguing with each other, for comedic effect.

Leaving for work soon. Everyone have a good day. :)

I have enough that I could keep a whole thread going. At least, a thread with the usual amount of posters inside of it. And I don't focus on the aliases that much!

Captain yesterday, on the other hand, has enough aliases to have an entire sub for him running, with all sorts of unique aliases combinations, and conversations, all happening at the same time! And it would be populated by about the same number of unique and individuals and faces, as any other sub for him you might come across!
