The neuropathy is frustrating, but the cognitive issues are far worse. She has 2 engineering degrees and 3 masters degrees; it's the mental equivalent of having a spouse who did triathlons and has to use a walker now. I'm not comfortable getting into specifics in a public forum so I'm going to leave it there. Sorry, I just needed to vent a bit.

I'm sure there's a similar book on class action lawsuits and their perils. While they have been a lifesaver in times past(80's and 90's) and are responsible for righting some serious injustices, I am quite skeptical of how they are used nowadays. There are just as many lawyers out to make a (not so) quick buck off of the misery of others by hyping up the evils of side effects.
No nudity here. Just straight talk on something I'm passionate about.
Yup. It's not an issue with simple villains or simple answers, but it's a huge problem.

I post, I just don’t normally have the time to make LOTS of posts, or necessarily post every day ... particularly as I spend half the time I have catching up on the posts I've missed.

The big problem with fawtl, for me, has been the issue of "catching up"--there have been times when doing so is just impossible, but when I come in everyone is chatting about this and that--stuff I don't know a whit about from 10 pages earlier, or from the previous fawtl.
Hard to feel part of things.
That's why I always just dropped in and out ('specially with the no-free-time and health-hard-times I was having).

Only issue I have ever had is when I make a statement for someone and they miss it, because we have had 12 pages of stuff go on since I posted. It's cool when I go back though and see someone has caught up, or said how did I miss that. Makes me realize I am not just being ignored.
By the way Facebook makes this much less likely. Wow I just realized we have been posting in these threads pre-facebook.

I agree. For me, Facebook became mostly a chore, a time sink with minimal payoff, an invasion of privacy, and a way that people from my past (who I’d rather remained in my past) could find me. Sure, there were good things about it, but for me the bad and indifferent outweighed the good.

I use it, but it doesn't mean I like it. I only got on because of a girl, and I only use it now for people from school (or if someone posts on my wall, but I'm reactive, not proactive).

Yeah, I don't like paying high prices for coffee -- or anything -- but for me decent coffee is a necessity and great coffee is a luxury to indulge occasionally. I know people for whom the taste difference between Miller Lite and Chimay Reserve is not worth the price, just like I know people for whom the difference between French press, freshly ground Blue Mountain and percolated Folgers crystals is not worth it. What can I say?

Need some editorial eyeballs. Submitting my Thor essay today, but there's one sentence that's awkward and I'm trying to smooth it out.
I initially had issues with the 3-D presentation of the film. In agreement with movie critics Leonard Maltin and Roger Ebert, I felt that the 3-D special effects did not add to the movie beyond what could be enjoyed in 2-D. The majority of films given the 3-D veneer appears more as an afterthought in order to maximize the Hollywood profit margin rather than to add to the dynamics which would lack clarity if viewed in 2-D. Maltin remarked that “it’s hard to imbue … characters with credibility … on such clearly computer-enhanced sets. 3-D adds nothing to the experience….” The artificiality of the visualization extends to how the Kingdom of Asgard was reimaged in its grandiosity. The implementation of computer graphic imagery (CGI) aids cost reduction from funneling millions of dollars into elaborate stage sets that will eventually be taken apart – never to be used again. However, the depiction of Asgard appears to be cold and clinical and lacks a bustling population that one would expect to find in a realm of immense proportions (George Lucas’ visualization of Coruscant comes to mind).
The bold sentence, especially in blue, is where I'm having issues. Can anyone offer a good alternative? Going to send this in 90 minutes.
Gracias!

A little restructure, some clarification, and a couple well-place commas to break up the length of the sentence. How's that?

Edit: I tried to reword it to get rid of passive voice. It's funny how I can't recognize it in my own writing.
Plus you need this sentence (guaranteed to get you a one letter grade bump): "Also, as anyone knows, swarms can only truly be depicted in 3-D."
