The university has made it clear they have no intention of moving either me or my roommate, and my roommate has made it pretty clear he considers me nothing but a snitch and has no intention of even speaking to me if he can avoid it. So this fun gets to continue until June. Certainly don't have the resources to live anywhere else.

Agh - sorry to hear that. Not a fun situation to be in, needless to say :(

Does Freehold ever decide to throw scooters or fairy cycles when he's feeling under the weather, or trikes or tandems when he's in some sort of Absinthe fuelled phrenzy, I wonder? Or does it have to be adult sized and brightly coloured, or he'll pass it over with a contemptuous sneer?

If it wouldn't put me in a massive financial hole, I'd drop out, apply to San Jose State, and work until the Fall 2016 semester. San Francisco State pretty much sucks. There isn't near enough housing available and Housing can't physically move people when bad situations pop up, my main professor is condescending, demanding, and refuses to provide help during office hours, none of the students here seem to give a damn and I get the feeling most are here because they got rejected from where they really wanted to go, and there's no real energy. I should have never gone to this school, especially since I got accepted into CalPoly SLO. Why did I not go to CalPoly? As it stands, I'm probably moving back to San Jose my senior year and commuting to SFSU by train, because I can't transfer to SJSU.

all signs point to maybe.

Now you have set my blood pressure a-boiling. There was one of "those guys" at every school at which I taught, and they always had tenure. At CCSF there was a guy who stapled drop slips to his first test, and made it so hard that he could ensure he would have only 4-6 students total for the semester. He had a grand old time, and didn't bother with even his mandatory 2 office hours a week because he had so few students he didn't need 'em.

On the other hand, those of us who actually cared about our students had to get the school's permission to go up to 45+ students, held 15 office hours a week, and wondered why at the end of the year, WE would be out on our tushes and that guy would remain employed...

There's a long list of former FAWTLfolk who aren't around much anymore.

I think we're on like the 3rd generation of FAWTLfolk to be completely honest. I'm a Gen-2'er myself, I didn't come around until 2009.

The pool of people who were in all three is swiftly dwindling. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think at this point it's down to just CH, FH, David, Amby, Sharoth, and Mike. Maybe a couple others.

I think we're on Gen. 5 or so right now. You and I are probably Gen. 2 or 3. The only members of the really old old guard that I see around here with any regularity are Amby, Sharoth, CH, and FHDM.

*Ahem*

I know I wasn't as active in the first thread, and I didn't start posting in it until page 19, but I was definitely there. Also definitely still here. :)

You definitely count. I think I started on page 17 of the original thread.

10-hour day at work today, first running wire in the apartment complex from hell, and then running wire in a former crack den that had been repossessed by the bank and was being renovated. In the crack den, I found a plastic King Arthur sword under the attic floorboards next to a box of sand and an early '90s porn magazine. What does it all mean?

It means you've found one of my sekrit bolt-holes. Please leave it as you would wish to find it and don't try to search the box of sand

... for some reason my initial reaction to this was "Would that be some sort of Freehold Snowman Voodoo Doll?".

Which admittedly would make an amusing alias.
