What is the plan for the date? Where are you going?
Winging it. Bear in mind, this is Syracuse, so there's nothing to do.
You could always... stare at an abandoned factory...

It's a distinct possibility. Other options include getting stuck in traffic and counting vacant storefronts.

Indeed showing up without clothes on definitely sends the wrong message.

It worked in the Pink Panther movies, just make sure there's always a flower vase handy :-)

Now at the END of the date... Well that depends on a number of factors.

you know that you're really not all that interested in physics compared to other fields when you start with the intention of reading about quantum mechanics and end up just reading about the ridiculously sad life of Max Planck.

And I just found out that according to Thomas Levenson Planck was actually fairly pathetic and ineffectual, and didn't do nearly as much for his colleagues (including Einstein!) as he could have.

Good luck on the date, David, hope it goes swimmingly.

Feeling cold today. brrrrr. I'll make myself a nice, hot, cuppa scald at lunch. That'll set the day right.

Thursday Night Game:
Things have been ramping up recently, with our group's Werewolf having recently turned into the Goddess of Rebirth. The other players (myself included) killed the old one, as she was trying to Rebirth the world to prevent it from being destroyed by the Creator, who has tired of existence and is slowly unmaking it all to start fresh. Sounds great in theory, but Rebirthing the world involved killing every living being currently on it, and we still haven't given up hope on finding some non-genocidal way to prevent the Great Destroyer from unmaking us all. So, being the only party member who didn't go along with the "killing the Goddess" plan, the Goddess gave the Werewolf her essence just before she died, which the WW happily accepted, and proceeded to take over Siberia as a refuge for the werewolves of the world, and other things which she decided she wanted to rebirth into existence.

At the same time, "Angels" have come to the world, seeking refuge after the Creator unmade one of several "Heavens", the one they inhabited. Except my character, a Shepherd (think Hunters from WoD) sees them as horrible, corrupted, filthy monsters, and they can make others see me as the same. Seems Shepherd powers actually come from a "Demon" and so we see each other as "the enemy". Shepherds so far are the only ones who can reliably see through illusions crafted by the supernatural, so I've been playing it up as they are really demons masquerading as angels, because my character feels sick every time he sees/hears one of them, and I'm running with him as being influenced by the source of his powers to see them as true enemies of everything he stands for.

Meanwhile, Moriarty (yes, that Moriarty, we may have unwittingly let him out of his book, thinking it was actually Holmes, but have since made an alliance of convenience with him) has gained a great deal of influence in the UK government, and is using the UK to slowly reveal the existence of supernatural beings to the world. This, combined with other events in the history of the game, has caused the US to go into a state of civil war, as the states who are willing to accept the existence of supernatural beings and who have suffered because knowledge of them has been/tried to be suppressed, are fighting against the states still under the influence of the BRCK (if you're familiar with the SCP Foundation, them, otherwise, a powerful, influential, rich organisation devoted to containing/understanding/destroying all things supernatural). The BRCK shot down Air Force One while the president was on board (did I just get added to a list? I may have been :P) so that they could install the vice, who is under their control, into power.

And looming over it all, we have, for various reasons, all had visions of the Great Destroyer, who is ever closer to reaching our world, the last of the worlds, and finishing unmaking creation. So, while dealing with all of these things, that are very hard to turn a blind eye to, we're also trying to figure out how to protect the world/prevent the Destroyer from reaching us.

So, fun stuff all round. :)

Wednesday Night Game:
Recently started playing another fortnightly game on Wednesdays, this one using a published setting, Numenera. So far so good, we're young characters from a simple village, setting out to explore a world of forgotten history and misplaced experiments from a long gone civilisation far beyond our own. It's not as involved as our long running Thursday game as of yet, but it's interesting to try a new system and experience another world. Numenera seems rules-light-ish so far, a lot left up to interpretation, which is leading to some conflicts between the GM and our group of rules lawyers, but still having fun with it anyhow. :P

Kidlet!:
My little man is coming down for the weekend this week, Saturday to Tuesday, can't wait to see him. ^_^ Weather is cold but dry, so we'll be able to get out and about, no problem. I picked up some new tablets games, going through more animals and the like, and got him a new ball, so I look forward to seeing him and teaching him new stuff and having fun. :)

His mom and him recently moved from the capital (opposite side of the country) to Limerick (a damn sight closer), which originally seemed great, but hasn't worked out as great as I had hoped. While the journey is half the length it is to the capital, it's not the route to the capital, so less people take it, so it runs a lot less frequently, particular after work hours. The only late bus is the commuter bus, which takes as long as the bus to the capital, and costs the same, only it doesn't have an on-board toilet, and also runs less frequently. All the more reason to get on that old driver license process, though I'm failing to make the time for it so far.

Other than that, things are good atm. My son's mom hasn't had an episode in ages, which means I haven't had a drama induced panic attack in months! She's even been flexible in pick-up/drop-off times, and mentioned being willing to do one of the journeys some time in the future, so that's a great relief. She's been sending my photos and voice messages of the little guy a lot more frequently, and keeping me up to date with how his first week in his new crèche is going, which is nice. They apparently call him the little genius, because he knows his numbers, colours, shapes and so on already, which I thought was cute. :3

Aaahhh, I really can't wait to see him tomorrow! :D

Green rooibus, dandelion root, lavender, rose petal, and pumpkin spice rooibus are my favorite herbal teas. Oh, and peppermint. And Korean ginger tea when I can find it. The brand I used to buy shares manufacturing equipment and is therefore no longer safe for me to drink. Boo, cross contamination. :( Still, I keep looking. I'm also very fond of the tea at the Ethiopian restaurant, but it's mostly cinnamon with some other stuff that you can't even taste over the cinnamon. So you can pretty much get the same results by boiling cinnamon sticks for a good long while. :)

Been running around doing all the back to school prep this week as the kidlet starts seventh grade on Tuesday. Had to buy him new clothes since he shot up like a weed over the summer. And shoes. He went up two sizes. Starting to feel like that person who accidentally adopts the puppy with the enormous paws and is panicked about how big it's gonna get. :P (seriously, he can wear his dad's shoes now...and he's still growing!)
Today I get to have the fun of removing all his patches from his old karate uniform and sewing them on the new one. So many patches. But this is why I sew them instead of ironing them on. Growing boy keeps changing uniforms.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll keep my eyes open for them. :) If I find a Korean ginger tea, shall I let you know the brand, in case it may be a viable venue for you?

Argh!

It is TOO early in the semester to already have rentals on my stage!

Especially this kind of rental.

I 'Love' well-meaning amateurs. Who write their own plays. :P

So full of good intentions, so clueless as to how to achieve it and so grateful for any advice/ suggestions you can give them.

If it only weren't so painful to watch. :/

It just makes me tired. So tired.

Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with my life that big pile of $$$ couldn't fix.

How is everyone else doing? :)

I may just have to find a recipe and make it from scratch. But I'm hopeful that I can find a lazy version instead. :)

And I have a NWN thing tonight. One of my two ongoing plots.

Ebon and Scint stay out:
One of the vanquished contenders for Malcanthet's throne as Queen of the Succubi, Lynkhab the Lady of Regret, is in the process of resurrecting. A mortal adventurer has absorbed her Eye and half her Mind. A second, who has the other half of the Mind, the Wings, and the Heart, has also gotten control of the entity that has her Body, and is starting making aggressive movements toward the first, hoping to gather all the pieces (and unknowingly trigger the elder succubus's resurrection).

Similarities to Grandia 2 intentional.

I had something this morning that I wanted to ask FAWTL about or comment on, but I can't remember it now.

They ran out of ideas a few years ago, they have maybe one or two good episodes a year now maybe, but pre-movie Simpsons, that's some good shit!
