Also, be lying if I didn't admit just a little nervous.

Good: I am writing instead of playing games.
Bad: Rewrites and tweaks instead of new material...

Still a bit of progress over creative black hole I was in recently...

My "claim to fame" in the acting department was that:

  • I have a voice that can reach the back of any theater, anywhere, any time. Call me Ethel (Merman).
  • I can emote with that voice, putting whatever feeling you want into it.
  • I can't act worth a darn.
  • I can't dance worth a darn.
  • My father *hated* the idea of us becoming anything other than scientists or lawyers, so my singing ended up being 100% untrained. (Long, tragic story there...)

So yeah, you know those plays where one guy has six or seven different named parts, all because those parts are people who yell out important plot points from behind a crowd?

    Those were all me.

I have a face for radio, apparently...

Well, I'll be getting at least a little bit of exercise this summer.
Just logged in to tell my online peeps that I auditioned for a musical this summer. 'The Addams Family'. Didn't really expect to get anything. Was really hoping my daughter would get the part of 'Wednesday'.

Yeah, I got the part of Gomez. :/

NOW to figure out how to re-arrange my work schedule so that I can actually make rehearsals. Cuz there is NO way I am turning this part down! :)

With my skills, I could maybe get the part of the hand in the box

Probably not all it's cracked up to be. I had to spend an entire scene stuffed in a trunk as Signor Pirelli in Sweeney Todd. It got claustrophobic.

Oh who am I kidding - Sweeney Todd was awesome. I got to die a horrific death every night!

    but were you delicious?

If it is homemade I can eat your portion. Your kids too. Well, not today because I already ate my dinner, but re-heated it's even better.

No try if it is ready made bought one. I trust American cheese-like products not. Unless they are real-real cheese and not made from powder.

We try to keep it strictly homemade, occasionally store bought, we could honestly do more stuff if we didn't believe so much in quality food :-)

Blonde is fun, but take care when bleaching. It's best for your hair health to take off the color a little at a time. Took me the better part of a year to go from black to platinum, but still having hair at the end of it makes it worth taking the extra time. :)

(For the record my natural hair color is a dark honey blonde/ light auburn depending on the time of year. I had dyed it black. I've dyed it a lot of colors over the years.)

Everyone describes me as having "Asian hair". It's thick as tree trunks. It's straight. It's dark brown enough to be called black. Attempts to dye it result in said dye fleeing whimpering into the hills.

As a teen, I finally gave up and just started shaving the darned stuff off. A couple of years ago, my wife finally gave up on me and found me an Asian stylist whose hair is just as thick and black and straight and unmanageable as mine. (Well, not *quite* as thick. If I grow a pony tail, you can hang a horse from it...)

Heh. I have the opposite sort of. My hair is super fine, but there's masses of it and it curls. Not enough to be cute. Just enough to be unmanageable. Finding a stylist who can deal with it without tears is challenging. All the dye has calmed it some. It still throws bobby pins when I wear it up, but at a slower velocity. You no longer hear the ping as a pin hits the wall at speed...:)
