After several hours of playing Dragon Age: Origins, I've realized that I accidentally made my mage character to look more than a bit like Fran Katzenjammer. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

When I was leaving work this morning something caught my eye. The car dealership next door was receiving a delivery. That's not too unusual, but since the cargo consisted of 11 (presumably) brand-new Corvettes, I had to stop for a moment and look. I would never want a Corvette (well, maybe a classic one if I had a s#%$-ton of money), but they sure are pretty to look at.
Earlier today somebody called me about the service plan for my 2011 Corvette. The call made me wonder whether it's possible that I've owned a 2011 Corvette all this time and not known about it...

Somehow I managed to make my Inquisition character look uncommonly hot. John walked in and was like "Oh my god..."
Maybe too much customization is a bad thing.

Drinking is always a roll of the dice. I'm either a melancholy f%+%, or happy as I ever am. Glad I rolled high tonight, I sure as s@+! needed it.

Two days in a row I went down at 10-11 pm and got up in the morning. Getting up in the morning makes me tired whole day, though.
Now it's 1 pm and I think I will take a nap...
I remember, when I was younger, driving past a SAAB dealer on occasion. The cars looked sharp, but I don't know what models they were.
And there, in a nutshell you've explained why the factory's no longer active. Everyone agreed they were great cars (even James Bond git one when they made an attempt to restart the book series), but then they bought a Toyota or Volkswagen.
For those not on FB, yesterday I rode on a train a few seats behind the Vice President of the United States. It was pretty surreal.

So, here is the recap for the Kingmaker session. We've only got Sound of a Thousand Screams left to go through.
Before they could move on, the room went dark with odd shadows and faces appearing on the walls. Sage's tampering with the forces of the Dark Tapestry had gotten Nyarlathotep's attention, and the deity briefly appeared to do a number on the party's sanity while also giving them a cryptic warning about some unforeseen consequences their actions have thus far had. Thankfully they survived said chat without going insane, but they did have to take a moment to recover before moving on to confronting Vordakai.
After that, they approached the ritual room, where they swiftly destroyed the undead mages empowering the portal with an Undeath to Death spell before leaping at Vordakai himself. Sage cast Halt Undead on the lich, who with my horrid luck rolled a 1 on the save. Due to a mistake in reading the spell description (we all thought it would paralyze him for a set of rounds with no chance to break free), they made quick work of the ancient cyclopean monster as Sage grabbed Briar and beat him to death with it in a fit of rage since Vordakai had hurt his two apprentices. It was a tad anticlimactic for a boss fight, but I loved how pleased they seemed to finally get rid of the villain. The lich's familiar Horagnamon was spared however, and the heroes also destroyed the phylactery (which had reactivated as Vordakai had more than 11 levels in this encounter) for good measure.
But they were not done there. To make sure he'll never come back, Sage offered the lich's soul to Abraxas in exchange for his own freedom from the demon lord's torment. Considering the trade-off, an agent of the fiend sent word, and gave Sage an affirmative answer. Ciaran, Kiriv, Oruda and Sage walked out from the castle as heroes, and figured they could rename Fort Drelev to Vordakai's Fall. Sage tried to ask Armag to join their nation, but the barbarian declined, choosing to lead his tribe to raid through Numeria with Ovinrbaane in hand. One of the local dragons was also tricked into going there, presumably with the idea that it would run into the warlord and get killed. At the end of the day, Oruda left off to meditate in the forest, Sage went back home with his apprentices (whom he has decided adopt) and decided to write about all this to his sister in Absalom, Kiriv went to spend some time with his wife, and Ciaran disappeared into the woods for a time with Briar in his hands.
The players were fine with me putting them to level 15 as they would have otherwise been underleveled for the finale. All in all it was a fun session, and I hope the players agree with that.

Eight enemies to 3 or four party members? I think it counts as success.
Heh, that misreading of a spell reminded me of something. In another campaign, I misread Phantasmal Killer as a multi-target spell. Then later on we misread Halt Undead as an effect that can't be broken by attacking the affected target. I guess considering the fact that one was against the players and the other was for the players, I'd say those two mistakes evened things out. However, I'll need to keep a closer eye on spell descriptions from now on...

FINALLY beat Malthael last night with my level 54 mage. ~grins~ That was AFTER the initial encounter at level 49 and me loosing about 8 or 9 times. Itinial thoughts after the first three attempts was "Crap. I guess I need to level up some before I take him on again." Wow, but the final boss of Diablo III was a tough one.

I'm alive. :)
I'm getting over one of the longest bouts of depression I've experienced in a long time. The shallow well of energy I had to draw from was enough to get day-job work done, but not much else. It was rather frustrating to let deadlines slip by, with part of mind spinning with ideas, but having absolutely no desire to try to get those ideas down "on paper."
I plan to restart monster production next week.
I hope you're all doing well, and that I haven't missed too much in my absence.

Yep. I'm restarting therapy. At least so I can have someone tell me when I'm going downhill, even when I don't realize it.
My wife could tell, and she tried to help me get out of my funk. She's super patient with me, thankfully.

Icy, awesome story. My group just finished our expanded Blood for Blood, including a romp through Maure Castle to fight a mythic vampire sorcerer, at the end of December. We'll be changing out the standard chapter 5 for a highly-revamped Red Hand of Doom when we resume sometime in February.

Here is some good news for me. Back in September I started my own process improvement consulting company. In October I started my first assignment which was a productivity assessment. In November, that first assignment led to a 5 month project with the same client.
Now in January, I am terminating my project early because I accepted a full time VP of Operations position with that now former client (effective tomorrow) turned current employer effective Monday.
I am very excited about this turn of events and everyone in the company from the shop floor through the president seem to be very happy that I am staying on permanently. It is a very nice end to a very rough 10 month period of time.
Nothing like puking up all over the back stairs at work to liven up a Friday afternoon.
I hope you feel better soon.
