Yeah, but no clue my schedule. It could be crazy, I could have time to make chain mail by hand. Depends entirely. So saying it early just in case.

I should probably go to sleep... It's the first time in a few days that I am staying up late because I am reading instead of not being able of falling asleep.

Go sleep! Sleep well!

So how cold was work today?

Let's just say that it was so cold I can't jump straight into a hot bath because my thighs need to thaw out enough for it not to be painful to get into the water.

Let's just say that while waiting for my tea to finish steeping itself, I downed a shot of 18-year-old Bushmills as if it was cheap vodka.

Let's just say that when I came home and saw myself in the mirror, my beard was white with frozen breaths.

Holidays over. Back to work, just in time to start 6 AM shifts. BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHH.

Dark Archive

Morning every-FaWtL. I hope everyone is keeping well, had a thoroughly enjoyable Xmas week, and has something nice ahead for New Year's. May 2015 treat us well, full of opportunity and new beginnings. :)

Looking forward to the new year myself.

Horrible awful thing happened here last night.

Someone burned down the 100% donation-funded, volunteer-built Castle playground. It was highly accessible for all children (even had special swings and a wheelchair friendly surface).

Not sure how I'm going to explain this to kiddo. I know she's going to cry.

What the hell? That's insane.

Uh? What's the weather? What are the chances it was an accident?

And by accident I mean a bunch of drunk/doped morons trying to lit a balefire in the center of playground...

And hiss.

Looking at pictures of it, it's pretty clear someone doused the thing in gas or some other accelerant before torching it.

Good god. What a jerk. Why do this? It's a playground!

Any plans for repair and reconstruction?

To quote a movie "Some people just want to watch the world burn."

Anyone had plans for using the place for something else?

Is that your shadow?

No. He is just a shadow of himself.

Yep. It is. Wearing a lot of padding because it was bloody cold.

Oh, good! That's just a lot of padding!

That's not what it looked like for a moment.

In all honesty, a fair bit of the padding is pudding.

Finished Rise of the Runelords tonight. The boss fight wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. Makes me think the DM missed something. He's good at that. We'll fight a monster, kill it pretty easily, and then he'll say "AAGGHHHH!! I forgot it had [blank]!", where [blank] is something that would have negated a lot of damage.

Meh. Friend is making new year's eve party tonight. In which I won't participate, though. *cough-cough-sneeze-cough*

Can we push the end of the year by some two or three days?

I tried that once. The Crusades resulted.

*grumble grumble stupid extra days in year causing wars grumble grumble*

We're going to be starting a Dark Heresy campaign soon, now that Runelords is done. I'm planning to play a Techpriest. How does Vidicon Youessbee Gerhardt sound for a name? (Vidicon for St. Vidicon of Cathode, Youessbee as a corruption of USB, and Gerhardt because it kinda sounds like Gear Heart)

hi everyone,

we had a few days of snow and the Dwarfling had his first sled rides

we had great fun

thanks for the snow Freehold ;-)

monday my mum took the boy some hours and the wife and I went to the next spa town (called Bad Orb) they have natural springs with salt water with healing qualities which are used for a fancy spa / swimming hall

so we where swimming, floating in warm salt water with underwater music and lightshow and sweated in the sauna (yeah for public nudity)

tonight: sylvester

we have Sabines mum over (beeing alone on a day like that is still hard on her)
and will make raclette

tomorrow the Dwarfling has his first birthday party

saturday is the funeral of Sabine's grandma :-(

sunday we drive down to the alps for our skiing/winter holidays in Damüls/Austria

I wish all of you a Good slide into the new year

My God, the Swiss are geniuses! Has a culture ever done more with Cheese? I mean, Wisconsin tries, but they pale in comparison to the Swiss.

Mind you, it smells horribly.
