Hello, everyone!

I figured I'd save my kvetching for not the top of the page.

My son got into a car accident yesterday (his fault, he rear-ended someone, but the rain was partially to blame). He and his passenger are OK, if a little banged up. The person he hit had a panic attack, and I don't know the status of that person. The car is most likely totaled.

I'm glad my day job is keeping me in hours to help pay for the new (but definitely pre-owned) car and the bump in insurance rates, even if it is preventing me from devoting much time to overdue freelance work.

Well the important thing is that everyone is OK.

I must have missed it in the rather frantic period of work abroad. Or comment on it and forget due to the same reasons :/

I remember when I first started driving I took a turn a bit to sharp and smashed in the passenger side quarterpanel. After an initial panic attack me and my buddy thought we could fix it with a hammer and a liberal amount of paste wax. We were mistaken and I wound up working an extra job to pay for said quaterpanel.

I became a much better driver after that, especially when I got my first car(a Datsun B-210).

It seems positive waves were all I needed.

Found the keys when I went home. Wife excitedly shared with me the news that she HAS A JOB INTERVIEW TOMORROW FOR BANK OF AMERICA IN DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN- BROOKLYN'S FINANCIAL CAPITAL.

So yeah. Excited.

Outstanding!

The disadvantage of having some money: I feel temptation to go for shopping despite all the components of the dinner being already here.

Or maybe it is the conditioned reaction to go scrounge the shops for bargain prices?

Tonight we are going to a major league baseball game. The Cleveland Indians at the Houston Astros. I'll be cheering my tribe onto victory. The great thing about having a cellar dweller so close to where I live, cheap tickets in September.

More good news. My middle son has landed a job. Entry level, but it is a good start.

Orthos, there was a time when we hired a friend-of-a-friend as a cat-sitter. (I want to say that was for the Christmas trip when it snowed.) Quill basically got left in a room with little food or water, iirc. But I could be wrong.

I like cats, just don't want to own any.

And yet another instance of red-tape holding up a crucial part of a class...

I want to be DONE.

I don't recall it but I'll take your word for it because I know how my memory is.

So I have to take my modem back to Walmart because I got a cable modem and needed a DSL one. Good on me huh?

At least it should cover the cost of the replacement.

Good morning every-FaWtL! Hope everyone is doing well and has a good one ahead. A little drizzle hereabouts, but hopefully it'll clear for the weekend.

Gaming:
No playing in the Thursday night game tonight, another 3 week gap due to a busy GM. However, the GM is getting a most uncommon treat for him, namely playing in an actual game, as opposed to running all the time.

On a completely unrelated note (:P), I'm running my first PFS game tonight. I'm nervous as all hell, truth be told, despite reading through the scenario a few times and thinking how the NPC's will deal with various possible player reactions. I'm running First Steps 1 : In Service To Lore to start, as the players know even less about Golarion than I do (and that's not much). This will be my third.... fourth?... time GM'ing, ever.

Excited too though. I've always wanted to GM, but every time I approach it, I come up with big, complicated, home-brew ideas (see previously mentioned zombie apocalypse campaign), and end up burying myself in world building and never following through. I've finally decided to just run pre-made scenarios and try and familiarise myself with the world enough that I do it some semblance of justice. I think I know enough about Absalom to pull one off, at least.

It would be good to get back to gaming... And I don't refer to computer games.

I might get a D&D session on Saturday. I wonder what level the party is at the moment...

I will also probably have organizational meeting around Monday regarding a new Mage campaign. We will be technocrats overseeing a first Martian colony in 2017.

2017? A future... Oh, wait, it will be three years from now?! I am living at the edge of future?!

Yep, I ran that knowing very little about Absalom at all & except for the way it turned out not to be PFS - it was alot of fun. Hope your game is similar.

Although it was out in perspective rather neatly for me. Last night, as I was flying into DC to switch to another plane into NY, I was about to complain about how late I was getting home, and how I had another flight ahead of me, etc, when the passenger next to me said he was switching to a 12 hour flight to Kuwait to finish his tour. He had gone home to be around for his wife's gall bladder surgery, and now was headed back for 7 more months. Oh, and it was his birthday. Suddenly, my flight didn't seem so bad.

Then I got home after midnight and stepped in dog s%@~ in the driveway. Because it was dark, I didn't know I had stepped in it until after I had tracked it all over my house. Plus, we don't have a dog.
