Worth it for the art alone =) I'll have more in-depth commentary on the actual crunch after I get a chance to read it more.

I was really happy with the art.

I hope you find something useful in there for your game. :)

Is the extra attack granted by extrude used once or does it last longer?

This also creates a problem because after using extrude ability makes the creature possess more than one natural attack and thus (without any special rule saying otherwise) it stops adding 1-1/2 Strength bonus to damage dealt forcing recalculation of the damage inflicted...

If, as I think it works, nothing can prevent extrude from adding attacks (except conditions that prevent actions, but they would prevent attacking anyway) maybe the creature just have two or three natural attacks with description saying they are morphed as needed?

Alternatively the Cumulative Movement Modes and Extrude could be merged in single ability that would be activated as a swift action and granted the doppel ooze picking two or three options from a list that would include bonus movement modes, extra attacks, some other abilities (defensive spines perhaps? Damage Reduction? bleeding attack? burning attack? breath weapon?) so the ooze for example could select to have three attacks one round, two attacks and flight in the other or one attack, burrowing and breath weapon?

Thanks. We're hoping to hear more in a day or two after he gets moved out of the small-town hospital he's in and the tests go through.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Saturday! Had a pretty decent night: Got the kidlets down easy. Had a beer. Fell asleep watching one of my favorite movies.

Woke up to small children attacking me. Had some coffee. And bacon.

All right folks. Time to go get ready for the day. My parents are in town for my nephew's First Communion, and will more than likely visit our house today for the first time. With that and the communion and follow-up party tomorrow, I've got to get my grocery shopping done this morning.

I tried to simplify things as much as possible. Maybe I went too simple?

I could certainly list out all the different attack options/special attacks/movement modes in a singular ability. I like the idea that it can get an attack and a movement mode in the same round, so I will probably keep that. Perhaps it could take a special attack or special movement (constrict, grab, poison, jet, etc.) in place of an attack and movement.

I will think about it some more, and I'll probably edit it tonight.

Thanks for the feedback.

The extrude is great fluff description of how this monsters natural attacks appear during combat but it has one of two problems associated:

A) either the ability does not differ from the monster just having two natural attacks - if the bonus attack granted by this ability last for one attack only.

or

B) it allows large number of natural attacks after a few rounds of combat if extra attacks granted by extrude do not go away - which is another possible reading of this ability.

I think that this monster could get two slam attacks as a base and extrude might allow the creature to grow either additional slam attack, movement mode or something as a swift action. For example one of the possible option for extrude would be literal extension of its body extending its reach. Quite oozy ability, I think...

Carrots are a personal favorite of mine. I ate so many I turned orange as an infant. Mom was terrified.

I definitely meant for the attacks to last as long as the ooze was alive. It makes it a deadlier opponent as it continues to fight.

It resets to its basic cube form after a few minutes.

In similar news, my grandfather (Mom's side) has been in the hospital since last week, extremely weak and he was coughing up blood when he went in. Back to hospital soon.

Take care all!

More word on my end. PA came in this morning, found a mass that is near-certainly cancer. They're trying to decide if they want to cut it out and send it off for biopsy now, or wait until his pneumonia is less bad.

Argh. My feet. This surprise birthday party is going to be the death of me. I was running around all day. Now I have to spend the evening pretending I sat on my ass all day, otherwise John will be suspicious.

On the flipside, one of his friends and I spent the afternoon setting up this little party tent to cover the buffet tomorrow. She brought the tent, and we pulled out all the pieces (there were a gajillion), and found that the instructions were missing.

I put it together anyway.

I am a boss.

Also, I am trying my best not to spend too much of this weekend on the wedding drama.

Spoiler:
So, my friend who is getting married next weekend, for whom we had the bachelorette last weekend, chose out her wedding party right after she got engaged, which I believe was in the summer of 2012. That was shortly after the time Paul and I split up. She was friends with both of us, so she asked each of us to be in the wedding party. (We are mature enough for it not to be awkward; after 9 years together, we can certainly tolerate one another when we have to.)

So, he bailed on the bachelorette party and she was really upset at him about it. Then the other day he asked her if he could simply attend the wedding as a guest and not a member of the wedding party. WTF? Who does that a week before the wedding?

She just uninvited him completely from everything. She said she couldn't even stand to see him sitting there as a guest; she would be too upset.

Man, he has issues. I am so glad that they are not my issues anymore.
