He kept going on and on about identity and things like that. I sparked his interest because I was looking at a magazine of celeb scandals (and succeeding at not laughing at how ridiculous it is) and the kid apparently had nothing better to do. Looked to be about 19.
He kept going on for a bit about finding a unique identity vs. trying to mold to an identity and how he could give proper advice on finding one's own identity. Kept mentioning a few psychological theories. Finally, I got fed up.
This is what I said that dumbfounded him:
"What am I? Who am I now? Am I even still human? If you can answer those questions, right now, I'll listen to your ceaseless, senseless blathering for as long as you wish to speak. You have ten seconds to start answering."
Unsurprisingly, he had no answers. I got a discount for finally getting him to shut up.

I am more and more tempted to write a setting where powerful uplifting magics were unleashed in the past creating dozens of animalistic humanoid races beyond the regular races. Say "enough" to overly-humanocentric settings!

Wait a minute - what about after the bomb or tmnt and other strangeness?

Morning all. Hope you all have a good day on this ... *looks outside* ... wet auld day. Currently coasting at a comfortable 5 degrees, and a blissfully slow day at work to catch up with all the postings.
Don't know anything about this Peyton Manning fellow, or why being a Chief would be a bad thing. Gonna guess it's all about that big game ye had there over the weekend?
hmmmmm, question sounds like you are non-american as well (German here)
could you be another Euro-FawtL ? South of the Alps and west of the Rhine is still unrepresented in FaWtL-Land

A fair day to everyone, at that. Mine own ain't going too darn bad atm, work is progressing smoothly, though I am still envious of all this snow you Americans are going on about. Probably wouldn't be if I had as much as ye do, but I don't, so I am. :P
I believe he's from Ireland, which is further west of my England.

I wrote a short story based on a similar premise, but it was set in the "near future" (next Sunday, AD) and resulted from an experiment with animal communication that went awry.

Go raibh míle maith agat. :) Never been to Clare, but I got friends down in Cark. A lovely part of the country, if memory serves. Though prone to flooding. In the current weather though, where isn't?

Ah, we'll have the whole of Europe represented before too long at this rate. :D Hello to you. :) Rest assured, some politicians were here just before you arrived, and there's certainly nothing left to raid. :P
Just got an email confirming I didn't get the job I applied for. Ah. Next time.
Sorry to hear that, better luck with the next one. *fingers crossed*

It's just Icelandic that still uses it - the sound has disappeared from Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and (probably) Älvdalsmål.
So if there's some minor difference, I'm not entirely sure.
Bugger. Turns out that Älvdalish does in fact still use the 'ð' sound and letter.
