Well, today, I utterly dumbfounded a psychology major who wouldn't leave me alone while I was shopping.

He kept going on and on about identity and things like that. I sparked his interest because I was looking at a magazine of celeb scandals (and succeeding at not laughing at how ridiculous it is) and the kid apparently had nothing better to do. Looked to be about 19.

He kept going on for a bit about finding a unique identity vs. trying to mold to an identity and how he could give proper advice on finding one's own identity. Kept mentioning a few psychological theories. Finally, I got fed up.

This is what I said that dumbfounded him:

"What am I? Who am I now? Am I even still human? If you can answer those questions, right now, I'll listen to your ceaseless, senseless blathering for as long as you wish to speak. You have ten seconds to start answering."

Unsurprisingly, he had no answers. I got a discount for finally getting him to shut up.

Sounds more like some sort of sect recruiter or other kind of quack.

*ahem* I believe I can scare up closer to the latter if I'm nekkid. Moreso, in some cases.

I knew someone once who thought a snow bank the sublime location for carnal activities. Were she to beckon to me from a snowdrift I think I would be suitably excited to exceed expectations.

A fair day to everyone, at that. Mine own ain't going too darn bad atm, work is progressing smoothly, though I am still envious of all this snow you Americans are going on about. Probably wouldn't be if I had as much as ye do, but I don't, so I am. :P

Craigslist says there are some reasonably-priced apartments and/or rental homes in the surrounding area, especially if I'm willing to up my morning commute to ~20-30 minutes longer than normal. It might be time to make strides toward moving out.

Is the Skandinavian ð exactly the same sound as th - I thought it might be a bit different.

So did Latin - θ

Not sure why the derivative languages got rid of it.

Go raibh míle maith agat. :) Never been to Clare, but I got friends down in Cark. A lovely part of the country, if memory serves. Though prone to flooding. In the current weather though, where isn't?

It's just Icelandic that still uses it - the sound has disappeared from Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and (probably) Älvdalsmål.

So if there's some minor difference, I'm not entirely sure.

Bugger. Turns out that Älvdalish does in fact still use the 'ð' sound and letter.

Good luck with the job hunt Freehold.

Thanks guys. It's a bit of a disappointment, as I would have been akin to a school counselor, which would have been cool. Still, there are other jobs. My destiny lies elsewhere.
