Yeah, I need to cancel my subscription for the RPG Books. I think I have all I need, really. I may cherry pick from here, but other than possibly further bestiaries or some handy consolidation books (like a spell compendium), I don't really see a need for more.

Sovereign Court

Naked shopping? Why am I not shopping for clothes, then?!?

You already have a birthday suit?

Sovereign Court

I guess, but while it's not the great white north here in Houston, it's a little chilly to be rocking nothing.

Not to mention HR is going to have a chat with me...

Duuude, I'm waiting for about 6 books to be published in the next couple of months.

I wish I weren't a speed reader. :( Books are done so quickly.

I read a translation of a Japanese novel that has 656 pages Monday night after work. As in completely read it. :( I'm out of books until next month, when the next book in the power armor space mercenary vs aliens series and the next book in the zombie apocalypse sea adventure series are published. :(

My Kindle has been a godsend for reading. It has however been the exact opposite for my bank account.

1988 was the year DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince released the album I'm the DJ, he's the rapper.

(Call me crazy, but I kinda feel that the record released a few months later by Public Enemy was a bit better.

Of course. It's public enemy.

My family bought me one for Christmas, with the best of intentions.

The problem is, I often read in the shower...not the best place for electronics.

... How? That's.. Just.. I can't picture it. Do you put it in saran wrap or a baggie or something?

Nothing wrong with Sugarcubes, Prince, Big Audio Dynamite, Pet Shop Boys, or Traveling Wilburys (when your first band was the Beatles, you're picky about who gets to be in your second) either.

I should probably have included that NWA were also getting started (album-wise) in 1988. Just to be thorough.

How would that even work for normal books?!

Sovereign Court

The book is held outside the water, is all.

I have dropped books before - that's usually not good. But still, the book is salvagable if it gets a little wet. Less so for electronics.

I finish the toiletry part of the shower, and then commence the "I'm relaxing in a shower of hot water" part of the shower - with a book.

I can see that in the tub, but the shower?

Your shower must be a lot neater, or less spray-ee/splash-ee than mine. :/

But hey, whatever works! :)

I'm so far behind on things I must/want to read, that if I read every day throughout my entire shower, shave and shineola, It'd still take me a long while to catch up. :(

Sovereign Court

I guess it's weird, but I've been doing it since I was a kid, so it doesn't seem weird at all to me. :) I DID get in trouble a lot as a kid for taking showers that were too long...the best part of being an adult is I get to decide how long of a shower I can take. Generally, it's "until the water isn't just short of boiling anymore".

Edit: Mom would often come in and take the book away from me to get me out of the shower.

Yeah, being one of four people in a house with only one bathroom makes that not an option for me even if I were inclined to it.

The non-negotiable part of any rental my wife and I agree to is a two bath minimum. Bedrooms are flexible.

Yeah, with a family of four a two-bathroom minimum is,... well, minimum. :/

Unfortunately I haven't found a hot water heater large enough to keep up with the boiling-water showers my wife and daughter take. :(

OK...good...you're not being an a%~$~@# just to me.

(sorry—venting about a coworker who's obviously in a pissy mood)

We technically have a second bathroom. It's been under construction for a while.

that's probably why it annoyed my parents so much. We did have another half bath, but for a family of 5, that was the only shower.

Ragadolf, have you looked to tankless water heaters? I've generally heard good things about them.

We have electric water heater for a shower - it's small and heats water as it goes through. Works neat but I am not sure about economic side. We are saving as much as we can which means showers are rarer than I would like :/

I will have to check how much something like that costs back in Poland to install in my bathroom.

drinking beer in the shower, y/n?

and I hate crying.

okay so it is just me then

I've had mixed drinks in the shower before, never tried it with beer.

Edit: And I also hate (me) crying.

I'll drink in the bath. Just not beer. :)

Why in Cosmo's name would you drink a bath?

Oh...in the bath. That makes more sense.

Not a job, sadly, but helping a cleaning lady who got some commercial work dumped on her. We cleaned two houses and a million-dollar new construction condo. More Friday, if I live. I'm so sore!
