Hey, I get a four-day weekend! That's pretty cool, minus the homework I have to get done.

As I posted earlier, I was off today, so I edited the work I was sent. I calmed down a bit from earlier, and I cannot thank everyone enough for listening to my initial outburst. While I have to go back to the grind tomorrow, there is some good news in that my supervisor is not there tomorrow, and I am working more or less on my lonesome on Monday, so I won't have to put up with her odious presence until Tuesday. Who knows, maybe I'll get a callback regarding one of the many positions I've applied for and be able to tell her she doesn't have to worry about me having to gall to defend my eternal incompetence anymore.

Been playing around with my 3d printer some more. Have successfully printed this, this, and this. Currently printing this. The more I use it, the more I like it.

Edit: Forgot to mention I've also printed one of these, and several of these .

Frog printed nicely. Now working an a birdy. All goes well, it will be done in a little under an hour.

aaaaargh,

as if everything would be not stressful enough, tonight a tooth (already without root) broke, and got removed now by the dentist :-(

now laying on couch, waiting for anaestethic to stop working and pain to start :-(

Aw, sorry to hear that. Is Sabine still staying with him at the hospital? Did you get all the forms filled out for the various leaves? Everything ready at home and at mom-in-law's?

Little Marlon really threw a wrench in your schedule, didn't he?

yes, Sabine stays with the Dwafling,

still not all forms filled, waiting for necessary documents from our employers
home is reasanably ready
in-laws unpacking will continue today - due to tooth now without me :-(

Yeech. Here's to things getting less stressful once Kleine Marlon gets home (yeah, right...).

*raises ein Mas in a toast*

Also - how much does the German tooth fairy give for teeth?

Yay, naked days off. Always relaxing.

:P

So are we going to start the push for the magic number before AZ vanishes?

:P

And last night's game was a bit of a bust, we started late. The 2 newbies still had to finish creating their characters (plus they had spellcasters), there was the usual banter. Followed by a fight, which I grossed out the players - then that was about it for the session, barring book-keeping. Of course the clue that implied the party was heading in the wrong direction was ignored and taken to be a validation of their current course.

(Whilst the table opposite were fighting a giant bush, cue infinite amounts of innuendo)

Any now to think about actually prepping for next week and putting them on kilter to move towards a glorious finale.

Bird printed nicely, as did this dragonfly (although I did break two of its ridiculously fragile legs removing the support material, but a few drops of superglue fixed that easily enough).

Can't sleep again, but I know why this time.

Five years ago, we were at my Dad's side in the hospital, waiting. He died around 5 in the afternoon. It was the longest day.

I miss him.

From his funeral:

Wisdom, Chapter 3:

The souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God,
no torment shall ever touch them.
In the eyes of the unwise, they did appear to die,
their going looked like a disaster,
their leaving us, like annihilation;
but they are in peace.

If they experienced punishment as men see it,
their hope was rich with immortality;
slight was their affliction, great will their blessings be.

God has put them to the test
and proved them worthy to be with Him;
he has tested them like gold in a furnace,
and accepted them as a holocaust.

When the trine comes for his visitation they will shine out;
as sparks run through the stubble, so will they.

They shall judge nations, rule over peoples,
and the Lord will be their king for ever.

They who trust in him will understand the truth,
those who are faithful will live with him in love;
for grace and mercy await those he has chosen.

Goin Home:

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

I'm sorry Treppa. That has to hurt.

:glomp-Treppa: At least there's the good times to remember as well as the sorrowful.

Thanks guys.

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Friday?!? I suppose it will be, at some point. Woke up in the middle of the night with a slight pain when I breath. I think all the coughing that's accompanied this cold has maybe bruised a muscle, or something. Very annoying.

Plus, the next few hours will be filled with a mad scramble to finish all kinds if stuff up (and make sure others are ready to keep working/finishing other stuff) before my trip starts.

Scarab Sages

Luckily, my brother and sister in law will be around to lend a hand.

Scarab Sages

One positive thing, at least I've finally been given some clear direction on what they want me to accomplish out there. I just hope the facility's camera is available for me to use. Apparently, you can only use approved cameras on the platform. Otherwise there's the potential for......BOOM!

No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. What? Look, somebody's got to have some damn perspective around here! Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM!

And, with that I shall depart for the time being. Try to have an awesome day, FAWTLY Folk!

Council of Thieves should just be renamed Crashing of Trains with my group.

There's not been an actual literal train wreck yet.

Yet.

And that only because we don't have any trains in Westcrown.

I think it will be only a matter of time before they work around that restriction.

There's nothing quite like a mini-boss getting taken out by the cleric attempting to do a running jump to sit on the cultist leader stuck in a create pit...and critting.

It's been a running theme with my group across campaigns, really.

Can't reach the melee? Throw your buddy.

Proceed to crit.

Can't reach the recently dropped party member for breath of life? Throw the healer.

Crit.

More fastball specials than most baseball teams.

...I think I found a way to make sports more interesting.

Well, if the summon pitfighting industry ever falls through, Westcrown can turn to baseball.

They might want to watch their words at the seventh inning.

"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Show me your peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back-"

poof!

"Ya mean that, Mac?"

"Uh...yeah?"

poof!

Oh, and the penalties for stealing bases...

Auctions on buying the umpires...

I could support Chelish baseball. From a safe distance.

That safe distance would be another plane, obviously.

Which, conveniently, I am on.

Ooh, and the teams can all be named after different types of devil.

And every time I heard the word 'buddy', I add the word Bowb.

So, your guys are basically a halfling Bloodbowl team.

Tonight only, it's the Erinyes vs. the Gylou!

This lab is for science, so we need a science owl.

I lost my train of thought.

Sweet Succubi* Vs. Enigmatic Erinye

..... and grapple.

Yeah, they might be demons. But cannot they have fun too? :whistle:

Silly DSX. Baseball's no-contact.
